Merry Christmas from the Mayor of Dartford
Supply chain issues permitting, it looks as if we can have something approaching a normal Christmas this year. This is entirely due to the magnificent work by the scientists creating vaccines and the NHS for getting them into people’s arms at such an impressive rate. This was a world-beating effort for which we should be both grateful and proud. Thank you to all the men and women who continued to offer their services through the months and months of lockdown. When times were difficult the community came together and did all they could to help those less fortunate than themselves. Many charities came to the fore also helping those in need. Although things are not quite back to normal, we are definitely getting there. A big thank you also to Dartford Borough Council for carrying on working throughout the pandemic, making sure that we were all offered the services we need, although sometimes a little slower than usual, and sending out help to those in need through food parcels and anything else they could help with. I hope you have all managed to stay positive during the trying times of uncertainty and lockdown. I wish you all a happy and healthy Christmas and a prosperous New Year. We all deserve it! Should you wish to attend any of the events being held for my Charity please contact Carol Butcher on carol.butcher@dartford.gov.uk. We have coming up in the New Year 29th January Line Dance, 25th February Race Night & Fish and Chips, 20th March Cabaret Night and 23 rd April St Georges Day Dinner Dance. I hope to meet some of you in the New Year. Cllr Rosanna Currans, Mayor of Dartford
