LEGACY Jurassic Park
Datasat Digital Entertainment started in 1993 as Digital Theater Systems and introduced millions of moviegoers to Digital 5.1 Surround Sound with the June release of Jurassic Park. Datasat digital audio playback and procesessing systems have been delivered to over 30,000 screens to date. These products are still considered to be the premium audio offering in digital sound for film releases.
DTS Digital Cinema
In May of 2008, the cinema division of DTS Inc. was sold and became Datasat Digital Entertainment. Many of the same audio engineers, production and operational staff that were responsible for the launch and success of DTS became (and continue to be) a part of the team at Datasat Digital Entertainment.
Academy Award
Our digital sound technology proved Academy Award worthy in 1996. The team was presented with the Technical Award in the Scientific and Engineering Category for the design and development of the DTS digital sound system for motion picture exhibition.

Datasat Digital Sound is a digital surround sound format for use with 35mm movie productions. Today, Hollywood studios and movie makers across the globe license our sound technology on their releases. As a result, our Datasat Digital Sound logo appears during the end credits, in movie trailers and on promotional posters of each licensed film; exposing the brand to millions of consumers each day. In addition to the exposure provided on behalf of the studios, Datasat has put together a digital trailer, available in both 5.1 and 7.1, for theatres to run prior to the main feature.
