INTRODUCTION
This book explores the various pieces of furniture as well as ‘The Shuttle’ within the framework of their construction. The Instruction Book looks at each piece and demonstrates: their key concepts; program of construction; the various kit of parts that make up that object; the arrangement of components for construction; and an indication of the object in use. The aim of this document to provide a framework and an indication towards how each piece of the festival furniture could be fabricated. We hope this instruction manual can provide inspiration for other pieces of furniture or installations, the kit of parts suggested offers much flexibility and scope for opportunity for design and exploration. Techniques suggested in this manual could lead to open source data allowing all members of the public to make furniture and contribute to the festival.
