BARRACKS PEMBROKE
Pembroke Garrison developed around a Victorian fortification (Fort Pembroke), a gun enplacement, a barracks, a tented muxketry camp, rifle ranges and training areas. Part of the garrison (St Andrew’s Barracks) was used as a military hospital during the first world war, during the war Malta’s military hospitals and convalescent camps. Those particularly at Pembroke dealt with over 135,00 sick and wounded. It remain in use by british military until 1977.

AUSTRALIA HALL
PEMBROKE
Australia Hall is a former entertainment hall built by the Austrailian Branch of the British Red Cross Society in 1915. The building burnt down in 1998, and only its roofless shell remains today, the rebuilding of the site was cancelled.
