74 s. 20th St. The Owner of 74 S. 20th street came to the firm with a request to update the facade of his building in such a manner that it would help to attract a new tenant. Through the historic review process it was discovered that the building most likely had two matching storefronts. The storefronts flanked what was also believed to originally be a stable, or warehouse in the center of the first floor. our team proposed the recreation of the righ side storfront in keeping with the building’s historic features, the restoration of the left side storefront, and the implementation of a Nanawall system to span the center opening.

Dancing gnome The owner of dancing gnome brewhouse approached the firm with a request to develop permit level drawings, so that he could begin brewing beer as fast as possible. While nearing completion of the permit drawing set the owner of danging gnome brewhouse approached the firm with a request for the development of an interior design, lighting plan, as well as a design for the bar and bar-back.

Fuku Menya The owner of Fuku Menya approached the firm with a request to create a ground up design for a restaurant concept he was developing, The owner of fuku menya had been a long time client of the firm, and worked with the firm in developing two other restaurant concepts of his; sushi fuku and fuku tea, both of which had been successful, and sushi fuku which has grown to two locations (both designed by Margittai architects.) The Owner wanted us to create an inviting, fun, and bright space to help drive business and the brand of his new restaurant concept, a fast casual made-to-order noodle shop. As such, the fast and made-to-order concepts drove the development of the design.

stumpf moving & storage The ownership of Stumpf Moving and storage company decided that the time had come to update their world headquarter office. They approached the firm with the challenge of updating a 20 year old office that was beginning to show its age. The design works to pay homage to the nearly 100 year heritage of the company as well as their motto, “trust our history when moving yours.� The approach; remove the cluttered metallic cubicles, laminate flooring, and filing cabinets . replace the aging design with a stained & polished concreted floor, reclaimed & restored solid wood office desks, and design/build built-in & utilitarian furniture to solve issues pertaining to lack of storage.

csokai-resick residence The csokai-resick family approached the firm with a request to update the front elevation of their home along beechwood blvd. by transforming the existing front porch into a guest suite complete with on suite bathroom. The project was placed on hold subsequent to the Schematic Design phase and construction bidding due to lack of funding.

1799 N. Pine Street San Antonio, TX 78208 Firm: The University of Texas San Antonio Tasks Performed: Problem identification and Development, Thesis creation and development, existing conditions documentation, schematic design, design development, interior design, and site design.
The basis of my graduate thesis to connect and to serve: creating a link between citizens and police was the question, “can police station design help to unite and make a community safer while also increasing positive perception of police officers?” I believe I successfully answered this question not only through the development of the physical architecture, but also through the creation of a social catalyst. The architecture created the ability to increase casual interactions between police officers and the general public by adding multiple service oriented businesses and community social facilities to the program. This in-turn created a boost in casual interactions and thus a familiarity with officers that the community didn’t have when an interaction only occurred via patrol car, in conjunction with the new found familiarity with local officers, the transparency and design appropriate for the neighborhood works to answer yes to the question, “can police station design help to unite and make a community safer while also increasing positive perception of police officers?”
