What is One Equal Music? One Equal Music is a project by St Peter’s Singers of Leeds to bring exquisite, pure, cathedral-style music to the inspiring, cathedral-like space and acoustics of the Victoria Quarter, where anybody can come and listen.

Bring us, O Lord God, at our last awakening Into the house and gate of heaven, To enter into that gate and dwell in that house, Where there shall be no darkness nor dazzling, But one equal light; No noise nor silence, but one equal music; No fears nor hopes, but one equal possession; No ends nor beginnings, but one equal eternity; In the habitations of thy glory and dominion, World without end. John Donne

Drop in for our Prom-style concert on Sunday 6 July at 8.00pm as Leeds settles down again after the excitement of the Grand Départ.

1 Watch out for impromptu appearances during shopping hours! The performance includes music by famous modern composers including Sir John Tavener, Eric Whitacre and Morten Lauridsen amongst others – as well as three great Yorkshire musicians: Edward Bairstow, Francis Jackson and Philip Moore. St Peter’s Singers aim to record this music as well, so even more people can enjoy it – can you help us raise the £4000 we need? – please turn over to find out how...

Who are St Peter’s Singers? St Peter’s Singers are a chamber choir based at Leeds Minster, directed by Dr Simon Lindley.

“...forty flexible and precisely tuned voices who made the English text speak directly to the audience...” “an ego-less ensemble... exquisitely musical”
