Who is Jalaj Saxena? Born on 15 December 1986 in Indore, Jalaj Saxena made his first class debut for Madhya Pradesh in 2005. However, better opportunities forced him to move to Kerala, the team which he currently represents in domestic cricket. In his four years long domestic career, the right arm batsman and the off break bowler has managed to feature in 113 first-class matches and scored 6044 runs apart from taking 305 wickets. However, his brilliant performance in the domestic circuit has been deemed insufficient national selectors for a place in the Indian Team. In a recent interview, Jalaj has stated that selection is not in his hands and he is only focused on what needs to be done on the cricket field. Although Jalaj did not get to play for the IPL franchise Delhi capitals who had roped him prior to the season, Jalaj was all in praise for team coach Ricky Ponting for helping him with his batting technique and basics. On his fantastic achievement in the domestic circuit, Indian Premier League franchise Delhi Capitals to which Jalaj is associated with presently has congratulated him on social media. Jalaj has acknowledged their wishes by conveying his gratitude.

After the Duleep Trophy, Jalaj Saxena will next be part of the Kerala pre-season which commences from 10 September.
