Manchester City Will Look to Complete Hat-trick of Premier League Titles
Manchester City will enter yet another Premier League season as defending champions and will have the tough ask ahead of them to try and defend their title for the second time in a rowhaving won titles both in 2017-18 and 2018-19. Pep Guardiola and his men would not mind trading both their FA Cup victory and Carabao Cup win with yet another Premier League title. They would also want to break away the tag of performing well only at their home and not being able to take their Premier League winning form into the Champions League. Pep Guardiola, known for his astute leadership, would be aware that if he is aiming at winning the Premier League title for yet another season and taking their team to a Champions League win as well then he should manage his resources differently so that the players are able to give their best and are able to sustain their best for a prolonged period of time. It is worth noting here that Manchester City’s Champions League campaign was halted by Tottenham Hotspur and the latter had proceeded by one of the tightest margins imaginable. City would have gone past Tottenham had Raheem Sterling’s goal not been ruled out by Video Assistant Referees (VAR). Since they did not score in their opening leg, this implied a 4-4 result in the second encounter meant they were one goal less as far as the away goals are concerned.
That one goal proved to be vital and it indicates how little the difference can be and so when Manchester City take the field this season, they would be aware that they cannot afford to take any match or opposition lightly.
Manchester City scored 95 goals in the previous season and even had the second-best defence record. Led by arguably the best manager, Pep Guardiola, in the world at the moment and strengthened by the addition of Spaniyard Rodri from Atletico Madrid, Man City will fancy their chances of winning yet another title.
