CURRENT POSITION ATKINS SNC-LAVALIN, London, UK

ROLE: Senior Architectural Lead | From February 2018 | +1 year

Description:

Featured Projects:

One of the world’s most respected design, engineering and project management consultancies with more than 18,000 people employed across the globe.

East Croydon Masterplan, LB of Croydon, London | Client: Croydon, Network Rail.

Atkins is committed to design, research and innovation and aspires to be at the forefront of the digital transformation. This can be seen at the two branches where Architecture is predominantly present and where I develop my day-to-day activities within the company: Building Design Practice and Cities and Development.

Station Lead Development and urban realm proposal. Our aim was to produce urban wide strategies based on placemeking & good urban design to integrate the station within the metropolitan context, and capture the aspirations of Croydon and enable negotiations and interfaces for value capture. The masterplan amounted to 350,000 sq.m. approx. built area.

Mixed-Use Masterplan, Gibraltar | Client: London & Regional. Vision masterplan to provide over 110,000 sq.m. of developable area. The challenge was to provide a coordinated approach for the regeneration of the wider area as well maximum return on the residential, commercial and retail spaces. A key consideration was the provision of a clear open space strategy and highly efficient massing that would provide the future occupants and the locals with a destiny and a successful space for public use.

MetroHome: Affordable Prefabricated Housing | Client: London Boroughs, others. Design and development of a new affordable housing which uses off-site manufacturing techniques for fast and efficient construction. The prototype houses are currently at tender stage with ongoing feasibility work for various sites in the UK.

National Grid Gasholder Sites | Client: National Grid Properties, Deloitte.

East Croydon Masterplan

Capacity and feasibility studies for 35 sites in 6 week’s time. The fast pace meant that the automation of the modelling and reporting was key to the success of the project. I was responsible for the development of an automated workflow from AutoCAD to Revit involving Dynamo and was able to obtain a model and a set of deliverables for the 35 sites in only 30% of the original time.

Regeneration of Station Sites | Client: TFL, Balfour Beatty. Preparation and submission of a proposal for complex mixed-use residential & retail developments. All sites are owned by TFL and have the added complexity of being close to railways and the stations. The size of the sites and number of units achieved varies from 65 to 750 approximately.

Networks within Atkins: Digital Innovation, Design Research, Resourcing, DfMA Robotics. Development in Gibraltar
