TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

GAIA, founded in 1998, standed out at the beginning of its work in the area of the structural analysis and design, although, in 2000, after incorporating into its staff some technical specialists in different disciplines of engineering and architecture, GAIA extended its activity giving integral solutions to its Customers, providing high quality services with a great additional value. This feature allows the company to tackle any kind of project, so as civil as manufacturer, reaching the best solution so as technical as economical, where the complete satisfaction of the Customer stands out over any other condition. For all that, GAIA, office of technical studies with wide experience, offers an extensive range of services, from the study and the initial management of the investments, up to the design, calculation and technical direction, management of costs and the control of time during the execution, integrated direction of projects, In GAIA every new Client is a new challenge, and our experience has showed us that the best projects arise working in close collaboration with our Customers, from the initial stages, when we are studying with our Customers their needs and suggesting possible solutions, in order to find the best one for our Client not only technical but also inexpensive.

PROCESSES [2.1] With the 3D plants design systems, GAIA creates and supports a detailed database that gives to the company the necessary information to fulfil with the regulations, streamlining operations, maintenance and optimization projects. The features of this integration allows the company to make up a multidisciplinary engineering team (working at different aspects of a project at the same time) and permits to give a better design coordination, without mistakes, and with an increased productivity. ARCHITECTURE AND URBANISM [2.4] The working philosophy of the Architecture Department of GAIA correspond to an opened conception of the architecture, that is to say, a pretension for understanding the discipline in the richest and complete possible dimension inside the cultural, historical, technological and social context that corresponds to us. Working philosophy where different professional cultures take over the project development as the real authors. GAIA offers a service of architectural design integrated with the projects of detail or execution and their respective execution directions. The work of GAIA in the area of the territory and the urbanism is characterized by a global vision of the problem that encourages the creativity and the innovation. The multidisciplinary work and the ability to integrate in only one team the diversity of specialists (technical, economics and relating to management), is orientated to understand the needs of the Customer and to satisfy their demands small and large scale projects. During its activity years, GAIA has made works in the real-estate sector, residential, commercial, of mixed uses, and the sectors of transport infrastructures, tourism and urban equipments (cultural centres, conference halls, multiuse buildings, etc.). SAFETY, HYGIENE AND LABOUR RISKS PREVENTION [2.6] The workers are one of the fundamental mainstays if the aim entails making a better society. GAIA applies its internal policy for management of the labour risks prevention to all the projects in which it takes part, including in them our Clients, suppliers, etc. In order to carry out this purpose, GAIA counts with engineers and architects trained as top technical in labour risks prevention with the specialities of health and safety at work, industrial hygiene and ergonomics, which allows us to give, from the first phases of design of our projects, a technical solution involved with the labour risks prevention.

RENEWABLE ENERGY [2.10] Since 2005, under the renewable energy boom that has been taking in our country and within our philosophy of customer service, in GAIA thought it was time to create a division dedicated to the design and implementation of projects to benefit of renewable energy sources. Three years later, in the Energy Division have a team of highly qualified, which enabled us to successfully undertake projects for harnessing solar energy, thermal (both high and low temperature) and biomass in all its aspects. Since R & D turnkey implementation through consulting, design, calculation and analysis of profitability in the division of power, we have developed, among others, the following projects:

At the time, given the continuous training and retraining of our technicians, and the importance that GAIA has always given to R & D, we are currently working on projects focused on the study of new materials in the field of biofuels, as well as new technologies for harnessing solar photovoltaic (nanosolar systems and concentration) as hightemperature heat (cylindrical-parabolic collectors and heliostats fields). Solar Tracker GAIA-Track

The solar tracker GAIA -Track with ABB technology, makes an automatic tracking in two directions azimuthal or translation with the sun from east to west and zenithal or position with the Sun in terms of latitude and the season-. Azimuthal movement goes on instantaneously, because it is related to the position of the Sun; zenithal movement is adjusted with seasons, situation and location of the solar plant and the instantaneous azimuth of the Sun in relation to the device. This movement in two directions optimized by cable, against the movement of traditional trackers with internal gear reducer, has many electro-mechanical advantages, as well as the two-axles tracking improvements (increase of output with the same solar surface) without having a disproportionate increase in cost and surface requirements compared with fixed structures.

SOLAR TRACKER GAIA-Track [2.11]

Warranty The device is supplied with two (2) years of warranty service, that could be extended until ten (10) years if the maintenance is carried out by our company or an authorized service. The maintenance service of GAIA -Track solar tracking system includes preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance. Preventive Maintenance: Preventive maintenance is based on review and maintenance of all the structural and mechanical equipment of our tracker; this includes testing tightening torque on screwed joints, visual inspection of the conservation of the surface protection of steels (corrosion prevention), preservation of cables, testing the programming of the automaton and the correct orientation of the trackers, checking the protections and the electrical switchgear, etc. Corrective Maintenance: This type of maintenance consists of repairing or replacing all those parts that, due to circumstances outside the design working conditions, suffer some kind of erosion which advise its maintenance for the optimum installation working conditions (electrical motors, etc.). Optionally, GAIA has the resources to offer to its Clients the maintenance services, both preventive and corrective, for complete solar plants, including solar trackers, solar panels, electrical installations, inverters, transformers, etc.
