Delaney Graham's Poetry

My leg tenses, bracing against the pedal. Like a boulder crushing the Earth My other leg pushes off the pebbly driveway. The pebbles skitter away, they are mice in a field And I fly I soar , you can try cars, to take me down. I am a confident tiger, patrolling my borders Down up, down up, down up, down up I am a marching band steady and strong The pedals move smoothly, not daring to defy the Delaney I steadily sail sky bound, determined, daring and dangerous My bike, wisely obeying my commands glides soft as a feather, swift as a cheetah and strong as a lion

Impugn Impyoon To challenge as false (another's statements, movies etc.); cast doubt upon. As in I impugn your statement that Divergent is superior to the Hunger Games, like a toy car is superior to a limousine. As in I impugn your statement that peanut butter is gross. Peanut butter tastes as good as chocolate. As in I impugn that Percy Jackson isn't awesome. Saying Percy isn't awesome is as bad as murder.

Pulse perpetual Eyes executing Fingers flipping Heart hurrying Can't conceive Finnick finished Tears teeming Brain blank Myself modified

They press your finger to your name and the pain of the prick is unnoticeable compared to the beating of your heart. Your heart is running like a racehorse determined to win. You stand with friends, strangers, and enemies. Yet you all face a common fear. You watch her hand fish above the bowl, then dive in for a victim. She is a shark, plunging into the ocean that will decide your fate. As she reads the name, you breathe a sigh of relief. Not someone you know. Not you this year but Maybe Next Year

Because in November my life will be over Because in November Mockingjay Part 2 is coming out Because then the movies are over Because the books are already over Because Hunger Games is my life Because Jennifer Lawrence won't be Katniss anymore Because I want to read the books again Because I want it never to be over Because Hunger Games is amazing Because it made me cry and laugh Because Suzanne Collins knows how to write Because she is awesome Because she is also not awesome Because she makes Finnick die Because she makes Prim die Because she makes Boggs die Because she makes Rue die Because she makes Mags die Because she makes Wiress die Because she hijacks Peeta Because she makes Katniss so, so sad Because Hunger Games is a part of my life Because it is a big part.

Sometimes people are different than they appear to be. When you first meet someone you get a first impression of them, are they like a bunny or a dinosaur? Sometimes you like them immediately and sometimes you dislike them. But more often than not they're not fully themselves when you meet them, like a Venus fly trap. You have to get to know them before judging them. And that can be hard, but it is better to not judge before getting to know them rather than judging them harshly and later finding out they're awesome. Turn the judging, jumping to conclusions part of your brain off when meeting new people. You could have an awesome new friend or a sure note of confidence to stay away from them. Don't judge, especially fudge. Fudge could be delicious than leave a bitter aftertaste. Or be gross than good.

Rules poem If someone with a disability doesn't per say do their homework because they didn't understand It does NOT mean you can just ride on his or her back like "Oh wow you can't even do 2x3!" Thats just really rude and mean and unneeded. A thing you can do to make them feel good is say "It's ok I can come over and show you how to do the homework if you'd like." That's nice and friendly and there are other ways to solve that too.

Since you asked I'll tell you why I'm so mad Because it was him Because I lost Because he should have hit it Because I'm being blamed Because it isn't my fault Because he was up at bat Because coach didn't put me in Because he can't hit Because he's a pitcher Because I'm the clutch on the team Because I'm the starter Because I'm MVP Because we should have won Because he should be sorry Because he dosent care Because he just lost the World Series for us.

The Trophy As I jump for a lay up my brother slams his hand on my wrist "OW!!" I scream like a police siren I think of the prize and it all or nothing no ties I HAVE to win! I get the ps4 for a whole month if I win. I go to the foul line I dribble 1,2,3 times "swoosh" made it, then I miss the 2nd shot on purpose and sprint to the 3 point line and fire while I get tackled and I get up, ignore the pain and go inside to claim my trophy.

Grand Slam C R R R A C K ball pops Up Pshh easy out boys Coach calls, I'm up at Bat I feel the wood on my Gloves I wait for the Pitch. I don't swing S T R I K E The umpire yells Fastball! Coach calls

I fake bunt and Swing right up To left field P O P Left fielder dosent know What hit Him. Ball goes over the Fence... G R A N D S L A M Four goes up On the board I wave at the away fans.

Baseball "Huh High" "Your out!" I step up to the plate, suddenly I fell the crowds eyes turn to me the pitcher getting no attention like a lion around its cub. The ball comes I swing everyone has their eye on the ball its deep in center 1st, the fielder runs 2nd, he jumps up 3rd, with the ball on the wall he...misses the catch! With me scoring game over.

Flip Sometimes in life there Might a person you see and like But Don't like a person because of there face Like a person because of there personally Don't let a persons face fool you Open the door See what they're really like See if they change From Time to Time See if they are who you expect See if you are going to accept Suffer the consequences Don't exaggerate Personalities are different in each person You just have to cope with it And when you finally see a better change Close the door and start a new life.

Brenna O'Brocta Poems

Theme Poem Sometimes, the looks of people are like blindfolds. They blind us from seeing what is actually there. They act as a trap. Tugging at you, until you trip. Tricking you, as you desperately try to get out. But, if you take off the blindfold, walk around the trap, you'll see what's behind the pretty face which is what's true. The looks of someone may hold appeal, but they don't always show to the world what's real.

Action Poem You lay down, relaxing. You clear your mind, relinquishing everything you had in your brain. You FLIP to your bookmark, Bringing yourself into the world of your book As your eyes W A N D E R across the words, You turn the page, And you travel, getting lost In the story that awaits.

Two World Line Poem Me screaming Claire yelling Willow weeping. Jaws dropping Heart jumping. Mom moaning Sister complaining Not caring Still screaming.

Since You Asked, I'll Tell You Why Poem. Because I wanted to win as much as you'd want to win The Hunger Games. Because it's all that judges fault. Because there's nothing I could do. I was as optionless as an ant about to be crushed under a shoe. Because I was as close as teeth are to your gums. Because it was my own teammate who beat me. Because it all makes me sound severely selfish. Because I can't feel sorry for myself. Because my friend has it worse. Because there's no way to let it go. Because she's now in her glory. Because she doesn't deserve it. Because some people are too ignorant. Because no one is perfect, accept it. Because it really mattered. Because second is as far from first as the sun is from Neptune. Because it's the second time this season. Because she didn't care enough. Because now it's too late. Because now everyone will think she's better. Because it came down to that one person. Because it was just one score that messed me up. Because this is my last chance. Because I couldn't afford to screw up again. Because sometimes life isn't fair.

Free Write Poem As cute as kittens. As sweet as sugar As cuddly as a new blanket. As lovable as a puppy. As innocent as a lamb. As gentle as a feather. As light as air. As young as a breath itself, As perfect as perfect can be.

Accepting Sometimes you feel like you're stuck. Stuck in something that won't let you go. That seems to swallow you whole You're shrinking. That thing is going to devour you and you'll be lost forever. You can't see. There's no way out, there's no light. You are lost. But when you hold on and if you accept this it is easier to go through. You can feel that thing loosening its grip And letting you free You finally accept it It can't overcome you. It won't.

Stunning Summer Sunset On my back I feel the summer breeze as fresh as a cold watermelon on a hot day. On my face, the low, early sun I yawn, taking in my surroundings The flowers, grass, and the trees Dancing in the wind and humming with the already busy bees The cars whooshing by And the birds flying high Singing to each other Their morning lullaby Shimmering in the sun, is the lake Also ducks, some just beginning to wake I smile and just watch Feeling good on this Stunning summer sunrise

Madison Greene

Crashing One day, I wanted to go outside and play I didn't have a bike So I asked my brother for his bike He said yes so I went up the hill ... I was on top of the hill feeling like a queen in her thrown I had no second thoughts about it I got on the bike I started peddling and peddling I had a wide smile on my face I was going really fast like a lion catching its prey Now I was kind of scared I was going a little too fast I ended up crashing into a thorn bush I was crying up a river I scraped my knee and cut my hand up My friend got this white stuff and put it on my knee and hand When he put the white stuff on my hand and knee, It stung like a bee sting The pain went away a little but it still stung ... Soon after I was laughing I always did dumb stuff like this.

Since you asked I will tell you way Because your over dramatic Because you always say dumb stuff Because you never come out of your room sometimes Because all you talk always talk about a dumb video game Because you never help me when I need help Because you get on my nerves Because all you play is video games Because I can never sit on your bed Because you always get mad over dumb stuff Because you always go somewhere without me Because you talk a lot Because you annoy me a lot

Bee stings One summer day, I went outside to play I had nothing to do so I just went to a bush I started digging and digging for some unknown reason But little did I know, Something was inside... I started padding and padding until I could see something All I seen was yellow and black bodies racing around the bush It look like 1,000 bees were there but only 1 came out of the circle I started jumping and jumping I didn't know what to do The bee launches itself into my arm I was crying and screaming The stingers went into my arm One after one, You can see silver spots in my arm I ran into the house screaming to my mother She put a wrap around it All I was doing was sobbing By the time she was done, There was a little smile on my face I was happy that it was over with No more silver spots in my arm But I learned a very important lesson, Never wear yellow and then play with bees.

Vocabulary Hostile, adjective 1) of,pertaining to, or characteristic of an enemy: a hostile nation He is so hostile. People are very hostile to the idea Why are you so hostile to everybody

Danuta K. My Poems of Experience

Dauntless With only a minute to go, We couldn't be slow. The blare of the music, And the zombies crossing. . . THIS would take care. I'm rolling, stopping, hopping, Glancing, prancing, Dancing, dodging, jumping and thumping. I shoot a shot, Click and Cock, Cream and stream, As a cuckoo clock. Fire, pause, fire, pause, Step to shoot, drop and hop. More are here, I think As the zombies Reach the brink of my and Tyler's shelter. Aim. . . And score! Hit, spit, click, pick, crick. As they P O U R Out I fire some more. One shot. Two shot. Just wait and see what These zombies have in store.

Can't see, but I hear a buzzzz Of a bb Wizzzzz by like an Angry bee. CRACK! CRACK! Scream the bbs As they crash into our ply wood Cover. I can't see, but I am ME! I see what I want. I swerve around a fence, Brimming with offense. Like a tiger, fighting for her cubs. I duck, stuck. Shoot. KaHoot! Popping with greatness, Ducking, hucking, being Dauntless, But too soon, to bad I'm hit.

The Shot I come to a stop BBs flying with a pop. The grass is green, And I lean in Looking for a shot. A spray of BBs Spin and cut past, The long grass in first class, Cast out of the gun of a enemy Stopping my tracks. I pull lower, From my knees to my to my chest. Doing my best to hunch down lower to the dirt. The lush tickling, My eyes pearing, Steering with anger I see the enemy player. A man. With his eyes open And staring, As I clap, He stops, I fire, he jumps, He growns, I swoop, I shout,

He's out.

Theme Poem Some times, if you sit on your bed, And you feel sad, or depressed, Just sitting there makes it seem worse. It's as if you're in a deep pit, Walls Steep and Crawling. It's like running, You were going as fast as you could. But a kid, your age, runs ahead of you. Each step feels like dead weights. Never stopping pulling you down. She sprints ahead and wins 1st. You get second place, You were so close! "I'll do better next time." You say half heartedly. But then you realize, It's okay, because you Will. And the dead weights fall away, You feel lighter. Your first next time, and the next. You feel happy and run for that happiness.

You put the past behind you, And focus on the things ahead of you.

Mom, since you asked I'll tell you why I'm so happy. Because at airsoft at the start of the infection match we got good cover. Because we weren't hit. Because we hit a lot of people. Because we were the last ones standing. Because we held them off. Because I'm a good shot. Because I can fight. Because WE WON!

Floor hockey hit Head down Eyes open Ball orange Legs pumping I stop Attacked ready I turn Attacker fooled. I spin. Stick scooping. There's 2. Guarding net. I growl I fire. Stick down. Hit! Hit! I whisper. Ball hits.

Adrionna H. My Poem

Theme Message Poem:

Don't let your anger change who you are. Being angry at another person is not helping nothing. Being angry can make you stress about things that you don't have to. You can change your character from being angry. Anger is not nothing you should want to be towards another because it's life, you can just get over it. You and someone can sit down and talk about what your anger. But you should forget about it and think of positive things and be grateful.

Football We were heading to the football filed on the weekend to kick off our 5 game. By looking on the other players faces I could tell that there stressed out and scared of losing the game. I was stressed too but I was confident in myself we kicked of first my teammate was running to the other filed trying to score a touch down and suddenly the enemy team pushed so hard the he couldn't play because his leg got injured and I was more stressed because we lost a player losing one player. Could cause us to lose the game. But we got a sub in 5 minutes when my teammate got injured but it didn't really make a difference because the guy we came in or my teammate wasn't really that skilled and we lost by one point the score was 20 to 19 that was our 2 game that we lost. Soccer During the score game it was our last game and it was one of the impotent games we had to divid the good player for first shit and seconded we were beating the enemy team 9 to 5 we scored 10 goals and the enemy team made a big trouble saying that we have more players than them and we have more professional player than them but in the end we won and the enemy team turned the game into a fight.
