INTRODCUTION
My name is David Garcia Montepeque, I was born in Guatemala on September 3, 1992, in a small town in Guatemala City, I studied in a bilingual school for 11 years and when I graduated from there, everyone asked me ... and now that you are going to study at the university? in my mind I only had the phrase, "transform the lines into volumes and volumes into solids" that was when, at 18 years of age, get into the Rafael Lanvidar de Guatemala University in the Faculty of Architecture & Design, graduating in the year 2015 obtainig thedegree in architecture, with specialization in ecological and sustainable design. After 2 years of work in the area of architecture, design and construction, I decided to continue studying in masters in another dream career that is Yates Design, I studied it in 2017 at the Politecnico de Milano, graduating in 2018 as Yacht Designer. Now here I present the projects that I develop throughout my professional career, are of a functional nature with deconstructivist and contemporary tendencies, developed from lines creating into volumes giving them a shape and character to the project. Enjoy!

“VERTICAL HOUSING”
COUNCIL OF GUATEMALA, GUATEMALA (2014)
Z 5, BARRIO GERONA, GUATEMALA
At present, there has been an uncontrolled growth of the population in the capital city of Guatemala, which leads to the inhabitants taking land and uninhabitable and high-risk places. The Architecture Department of the Rafael Landivar University and the Ministry of Development and Social Housing, created a contest with the theme “VERTICAL HOUSING” a concept that has been used in other countries over the years but in Guatemala for geographical reasons in Its moment could not be implanted. Now with the help of structural engineers specializing in earthquakes, techniques have been developed to make these buildings available to the Guatemalan population.
The problem was to create a comprehensive project, where the user did not witness a cultural shock and the project was not profitable. The architectural needs were an apartment, with 2 bedrooms and a versatile place such as a study or temporary room, a spacious kitchen, social place and cleaning and personal hygiene areas. Therefore, the apartment was separated into 2 private and social areas, creating individual areas and using the open sapce methodology.
