DIX COMFORT STATION RALEIGH, NC, USA 4,000 SF PUBLIC FACILITY HOBGOOD ARCHITECTS + MVVA
01
The transformation of Dorothea Dix city park preserves historic features, connects the campus to its surroundings, and provides a welcoming park experience for all. The comfort station station features a central garden of hickory trees and an array of 10 family restrooms encapsulated within an underground service hub that supports some of the park’s amenities such as water features, a plaza, playgrounds, and gardens. I contributed to its conceptualization, design, presentations, material and fixture selection, code compliance, and collaborated with landscape architects and consultants to ensure the City of Raleigh’s satisfaction. The Argo Factory a historic 100-year-old building in Iran. This factory, was once a beer distillery, which was abandoned for decades. I contributed significantly to the design of its adaptive reuse, handling tasks like producing plans, sections, renderings, and collages. I mentored younger interns in rendering techniques and conducting material studies. Additionally, I provided valuable input on design details, particularly in concept and schematic phases. Although I couldn’t oversee on-site decisions due to the project’s location in Iran, our efforts were recognized when the Argo Factory won the Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 2022.

VESCOM AMERICA HEADQUARTERS HENDERSON, NC, USA 8,100 SF OFFICE BUILDING HOBGOOD ARCHITECTS
03
Vescom, a textile company based in the Netherlands, expanded into America. The addtion to the textile manufacturing plant relocates offices, design studios, and training areas into a well-lit showroom, providing a contrast to the noisy machinery. The unusual triangular layout posed design challenges but allowed for an efficient building essentially made up of only two facades. I produced renderings and diagrams, offering design alternatives to aid client decision-making, while also contributing to model making and plan coloring efforts, enhancing client engagement.
AB PUBLIC SAFETY + ADMIN COMPLEX ATLANTIC BEACH, NC, USA 20,000 SF MUNICIPAL FACILITY HOBGOOD ARCHITECTS

This coastal project integrates functions of Council Chambers, Town Administration, Fire Department, and Police Station under one roof. The project, executed on time and within budget, featured complex phasing strategies to maintain full fire station functionality during the transition as well as consideration for full operation during emergencies. Close collaboration with the town council, department chiefs, building users, consultants, and the general public was essential for its success. The formal strategy breaks the large program into smaller, residentialscale volumes, addressing the scale of surrounding beach cottages.

OCEANANA FAMILY RESORT ATLANTIC BEACH, NC, USA 400,000 SF CONDOS + TOWNHOMES HOBGOOD ARCHITECTS
05
The Oceanana Family Resort, a beachfront destination on North Carolina’s Southern Outer Banks, comprises 144 units, including condos and townhouses. Since 2017, the design process addressed challenges like wastewater infiltration, parking logistics, fire truck access, exterior envelope design, and hurricane resistance. Set to begin presales in early 2024, the project aims to offer residents diverse activities, including an expansive private beach, 1,000ft pier, a full-service restaurant, two pools, cabanas, trellises, shuffleboard, bocce ball, putting green, event lawn, barbecue stations, and semi-private cabanas in a maritime forest. This proposal replaces a 1988 building near a floodway, creating a central gathering space for Durham’s Muslim community. The prayer hall, oriented towards Mecca, has four purposeful portals. One serves as an entry courtyard with dual functionality for overflow prayer space, especially during high occupancy like Ramadan. Another accommodates a brothers’ wing, a separate portal for sisters, adhering to gender separation, and one for funeral preparation services. My involvement spans conception to construction documentation, contributing to this impactful architectural endeavor in Durham, NC.

07
Tailored for the Saudi royal family of six and a staff of 30, this lavish proposal meets their intricate needs. Fulfilling a specific request for a room with views of Biscayne Bay and the golf course, a central nucleus pierces the solid square level of private bedrooms, creating an inhabitable periscope. On the ground floor, service blocks reinforce the site’s grain, ensuring privacy while allowing finely tuned open spaces. A polished aluminum gatehouse forms a main threshold entry, providing privacy and security. I contributed by rendering material selections, refining renderings, and assisting with physical models.
VERMILLION RALEIGH, NC, USA 2,500 SF RETAIL STORE HOBGOOD ARCHITECTS
08
Vermillion, in North Hills Raleigh, is a high-end clothing store crafted for versatility. Its program demands seamless transformation into a fashion show venue, hosting DJ parties, and serving as a VIP retail space. After an exhaustive study, the final design integrates three feature elements: custom wood display casework, a semi-private rear travertine facade, and a folded metal periphery housing hanging garments and changing rooms. Leading a group of interns under the design principal’s direction, I contributed significantly to design concepts and layout logistics presented to the client within the existing retail shell.
FRAME HOUSE RALEIGH, NC, USA 6,500 SF SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE TONIC DESIGN
09
This residence features a design comprised of a series of open frames penetrating a programmatic bar, emphasizing distinct social aspects of the clients’ social life that seamlessly extend into the exterior. The six frames, individually tailored to the program’s requirements, encompass the Garage, entry/office, dining/kitchen, living room, daughter’s bedroom, and private library. My contributions to the project involved active participation in client meetings, creating physical presentation models, digital modeling and visualizations for the clients, and assisting the superintendent with renovations of the clients’ previous houses.
