natural wonders

Roberto

Coin has drawn design inspiration from the beauty of the natural world near his native Vincenza and beyond.

Aspirit of adventure combined with the finest Italian craftsmanship is the essence of Roberto Coin's jewelry collections. "Love is the soul of nature," he has said, and his collections that are inspired by nature and the animal kingdom are unique and extraordinary. Roberto Coin not only draws inspiration from nature, but he also supports its preservation by using only responsibly sourced materials in his jewelry.

Exceptional Italian jewelry artisans bring Roberto Coin’s designs to life in his hometown of Vicenza, Italy’s “City of Gold,” and its capital of jewelry making. Although his home is Vicenza, Coin has traveled extensively throughout the world for decades, finding inspiration for his designs from the animal kingdom on land and under the sea, and from the sky above.

“I find beauty everywhere,” Coin said, “in nature, in people, in architecture, in art and in food.” "In my mind, inspiration is surprising and can arrive from everywhere. Curiosity is my evergreen. Visiting different countries, experiencing art, fashion, stories, nature, and the animal world. Creativity is in our genes." Since he founded his eponymous brand in 1996, Coin has been imbuing that beauty into his artful collections of precious jewelry.

The Animalier high jewelry collection exemplifies the brand’s fine craftsmanship and exacting attention to detail. Roberto Coin’s fantastical, whimsical creations embodying Earth’s creatures perfectly illustrate his masterful design and his artisans’ exceptional gem-setting skills. The Animalier collection features a fish ring in multi-colored sapphires and a horse bracelet and ring in 18K white gold adorned with black and white diamonds. An 18K yellow gold combined bangle bracelet and ring in the form of a snake is set with diamonds and rubies.

Creatures of the land and sea are also the inspiration for many of the designs in Roberto Coin’s popular Tiny Treasures collection. Whether large or small, each piece of Roberto Coin jewelry is handcrafted with individually set gemstones. The Tiny Treasures gold and pavé diamond pendants depict an array of earthly creatures including hummingbirds in flight, butterflies, and frogs. Undersea life also has a strong presence in the Tiny Treasures collection, including fish, starfish, dolphins, and crabs crafted of gold and diamonds.

SNAKE CHARMER

The slithery snake is a jewelry motif that has been worn and adored for centuries. Queen Victoria wore a continuous snake engagement ring signifying everlasting love. Continuing this tradition, we suggest this gold and ruby bangle bracelet from the Animalier collection.

FLIGHTS OF FANCY

The Tiny Treasures gold and pavé diamond pendants depict an array of earthly creatures including hummingbirds in flight, butterflies, and frogs.

Inspired by wildlife that slithers, hops, gallops and splashes in delightful designs. Here are just some of our favorite jewels to celebrate nature while brightening up your wardrobe.

HEAVENLY WONDERS

Looking to the skies, Roberto Coin jewelry also pays homage to the beauty of the heavens. A variety of diamond star pendants and earrings is available in white, rose, and yellow gold set with diamonds.

Nature’s beauty wouldn’t be complete without flowers. Blooms in many forms are featured in several of Roberto Coin’s collections including Dolcetto, Venetian Princess, and Love in Verona.

FLORAL FANCY

Inspired by the floral decorations of Venetian palaces, Roberto Coin represents the material expression of the most romantic side of a woman's imagination.

Looking to the skies, Roberto Coin jewelry also pays homage to the beauty of the heavens. A variety of diamond five-point star pendants and earrings is available in white, rose, and yellow gold set with diamonds. In the Dolcetto collection, a six-pointed diamond star is set in a choice of white, rose, or yellow textured gold with a central stone. A rose gold, diamond and black diamond medallion pendant from the Venetian Princess collection depicts a half moon in the night sky.

The sky’s constellations and their corresponding Zodiac signs offer powerful symbols of strength and celestial beauty. Roberto Coin’s Zodiac medallion pendant charms in 18K yellow gold are set with diamonds and are available for every astrological sign. Each pendant comes on a 19-inch paper-clip chain.

Another of the sky’s natural wonders, rainbows, are part of the brand’s Love in Verona collection, inspired by Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. A medallion disc necklace, stud earrings and a disc ring feature a full spectrum of colored sapphires and tsavorites set in rose gold accented with diamonds.

Of course, nature’s beauty wouldn’t be complete without flowers. Blooms in many forms are featured in several of Roberto Coin’s collections including Dolcetto, Venetian Princess, and Love in Verona.

Roberto Coin’s deep love and respect for nature is evidenced not only in his jewelry, but also in his commitment to the environment. “In fact, every single one of our jewels and materials has a story, and it is our mission to make sure that story is a positive one,” he said. “That’s why we have a zero-tolerance policy towards conflict diamonds. That’s why we’re committed to keeping gold furnished by unethical producers out of our supply chains. We’ve been committed to ethical sourcing since day one. I’m very proud to tell that story with every piece of jewelry we create.”

The brand only acquires its polished diamonds that are certified by the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) and the System of Warranties. Established in 2003, the Kimberly Process’s goal is to prevent the flow of conflict diamonds, with the KPCS providing and implementing safeguards on shipments of rough diamonds and certifying them as conflict-free.

Roberto Coin Inc. is also a member of the Responsible Jewellry Council. The Council advocates for and advances responsible ethical, social, human rights, and environmental practices for sourcing precocious metals and diamonds. Roberto Coin’s socially conscious practices can offer peace of mind for buyers who value precious jewelry and exceptional design but are seeking pieces that are crafted ethically.

Roberto Coin jewelry designs have a timeless quality that spans generations. “Fashion is changeable,” Coin said. “It is whimsical. Style is not. Style is part of us, of our life, in every moment and every expression.”

heirloom jewelry turns modern

With a blend of vintage and contemporary elements, Sorellina reimagines the idea of heirloom jewelry for the next generation.

Today, the notion of heirloom jewelry is quickly evolving with the times. What was once reserved for traditional high-end jewelers and timeless designs has expanded to include more unique pieces that reflect the personality of the original wearer in her

place and time. This shift marks a new generation of collectors who are placing greater value on individuality and self-expression as well as the quality and longevity of a piece.

Sisters Kim and Nicole Carosella, the millennial duo behind Sorellina (which in fact means “little sister” in Italian), combined their passions for jewelry, vintage aesthetics, and familial bonds to develop their own line of modern heirloom jewels. For them, the key to creating a contemporary heirloom lies in balance. Sorellina’s collections are marked by the use of traditional jewelry techniques along with time-tested vintage aesthetics. However, they add their own modern twist with elements like specialty stone cutting or blurring the lines of masculine and feminine.

Sorellina’s Collections: Balancing

Vintage and Contemporary

Across the board, Sorellina’s collections clearly reflect that balance of vintage and contemporary elements. This “balance” comes directly from what both sisters bring to the table: Kim offers historical perspective with her Art History degree from Tulane and Nicole (the “little sister”) contributes a deep knowledge of craft thanks to her degree in Jewelry Design from FIT. Together, the pair found common ground through a particular affinity for the Victorian era, which was notable for jewelry that had greater significance than style and aesthetics, such as mourning jewelry or, of course, heirloom jewelry that would be passed down within the family from generation to generation.

timeless designs with unique flair

Throughout Sorellina’s line, you’ll find that same balance within the designs. The collection is anchored by a number of more traditional, timeless styles like hoops and pendant necklaces. However, even here, you get the sister’s own distinct spin on the classics. For instance, the Otto

two sisters create heirloom jewelry with a modern twist
Kim Carosella

Huggie Hoop Earrings showcase a timeless 18-karat yellow gold base with the addition of rhodium details and pink sapphires, giving the earrings more personality than your standard hoops. Another example is the Totem Pendant, composed of five pink sapphires of varying sizes and shapes. Here, you not only have a unique, asymmetrical showpiece but also the option for individually through the chain you choose to wear it on, whether a simple cable chain or a bolder paperclip chain.

Distinctly Sorellina: Expressing Your Individuality

Alternatively, Sorellina offers designs that more firmly lean into contemporary category in terms of aesthetics. Yet, even these pieces remain grounded in traditional metal and gem setting techniques. Take, for example, one of the brand’s most popular collections to date: its Tarot line. Here, the elaborate pendants, boasting the sister’s own reinterpretation of iconic cards from the Tarot deck, root the collection. However, the line also offers more subtle pieces like the Tarot Baguette Ring. This gorgeous piece features an 18-karat yellow gold band with a combination of diamonds and colored gemstones like emeralds or sapphires that give nod to the iconography found in fortune-telling decks. For Sorellina, this collection goes beyond the lore of cartomancy and celebrates the relationships we have throughout our lives – to loved ones who come before and after us as well as our home, nature, and surroundings.

Leaving a Legacy with Wearable Art

With their backgrounds in Art History and Jewelry Design, it comes as no surprise that the Carosella sisters have created a line of jewelry

that serves as wearable art. With that in mind, this is in fact jewelry that’s intended to be worn and cherished. Despite the use of precious metals and stones, the jewelry itself is not meant to be precious and simply kept in a safe waiting to be passed on to the next generation. This is jewelry to make memories in – jewelry for a daughter to remem-

ber her mother wearing and to carry on that legacy when it one day becomes hers. This is modern heirloom jewelry.

Nicole Carosella

“The new Rolex GMT Master II, released at Watches & Wonders this year, is an excellent watch for anyone who enjoys the GMT's subtle functionality. The black and grey bezel is incredibly subtle and offers a minimal, monochromatic look compared to the other color combinations in the GMT line.” -Rick

“My pick this year is the Tudor Black Bay 58 GMT. I love the gilt accents on the bi-color bezel and dial and appreciate that it is a Master Chronometer, meaning it passes rigorous timing standards, exposure to various temperatures and levels of magnetic interference. For a watch that is so technologically advanced, it is still very clean and elegant. Tudor really knocked it out of the park with this one.” -Chris

“This year I am choosing the David Yurman Men’s Cable Cuff Bracelet. This bracelet is a simple way to elevate any look and add some interest. My favorite Cable Cuff is the Hematite. It has a striking gunmetal grey type of finish that plays well with the finish of the sterling silver and the yellow gold accents that border the cap.” -Michael

“Bright and sparkling, these Diamond Flower Earrings from Italian designer Roberto Coin’s Venetian Princess Collection are equally appropriate whether you’re running errands during the day or attending a glitzy cocktail affair at night. Masterfully crafted in 18 karat white gold, these earrings are destined to be loved and worn for generations to come.” -Eleanor

“A graceful, geometric motif of color and light captures early 20th-century style in an elegant 18kt. white-gold ring set with beautiful blue sapphires and scintillating diamonds. Kwiat artisans meticulously handcraft this design with exquisite gemstones for the utmost beauty and brilliance.” -Jason

“In stunning 18k white gold, accented by diamonds, this rich Aquamarine ring by designer Penny Preville is truly a wearable piece of art. This ring is made to be worn for every occasion, big or small.”

-Kathy

“The Sorellina Totem Pendant Necklace in 18K yellow gold with mixedshape pink sapphires is vintage-inspired yet modern, able to be worn casually or more formally. I love the uniqueness the totem shapes give the piece, especially with the ‘pop’ of pink sapphire.”

-Jody

The Loring & Co. team shares their personal picks for the best pieces to give the jewelry and watch lovers on your list.

“Hello, beautiful! I chose Rahaminov’s Moval line necklace because it is absolutely stunning. The moval, which is Rahaminov’s signature cut, has characteristics of both marquise and-oval cut diamonds. It makes for the perfect cut in this elevated spin on the classic tennis necklace. I’m hoping to find this under the tree.”

-Caitlin

“My pick this year is the Bremont Terra Nova Power Reserve Watch in Anthracite. This is a newly released collection from the brand, featuring a power reserve indicator on the dial and a compass set bezel. I chose this watch for its refreshing design, especially the applied watch design. My favorite design element on this watch is the applied Super-luminova® markers, that look very three-dimensional on the dial. They also provide strong luminescence, being solid luminous blocks. The tonneau shaped case is also a great design element that is very fresh. It’s not quite round or square, and it sits very well on the wrist!”

-Will

“My pick this year is the Wolf Cub Winder. It is incredibly compact and comes in a nice assortment of colors. Working with watches every day, one of the biggest complaints we hear is that the watch does not stay wound. Occasionally, it is something that needs to be serviced, but most of the time it has to do with wearing habits. If a person isn’t active enough while wearing the watch, it won’t generate enough power to keep it running. Putting your watch on a winder overnight, and when it is not being worn, helps ensure that the watch is kept wound and, in turn, holds that power reserve.”

-Curt

“Fancy shape studs are hot and this modern take on the diamond stud is blazing! Double the sparkle and twice the cool factor of traditional studs. Available in multiple shapes and sizes.”

-Trent

“I've picked the best of both worlds this year with Serafino Consoli. This is a beautiful piece with a design in a world of its own. It doubles down as a dynamite statement ring or a stunning bangle bracelet. It is a truly special piece that will make anyone's holiday extra special.”

-Zack

“As your David Yurman Specialist, I invite you to elevate your jewelry collection with the stunning David Yurman Sculpted Cable Necklace. Crafted in 18K yellow gold and adorned with pavé diamonds, this bold statement piece is the perfect blend of elegance and modern sophistication.”

PRECISION PERFECT

TUDOR returns to the world of international motorsport, partnering with the new Visa Cash App RB Formula One team.

Precision is at the heart of car racing, where timing is everything. A Formula One driver’s unparalleled skill, determination, and instincts are critical to his success. A reliable timepiece designed to withstand the rigors of high-speed racing is crucial to a racer's performance. TUDOR’s founder Hans Wilsdorf set out from the beginning to craft robust watches offering superlative timekeeping in physically challenging situations.

TUDOR’s affiliation with car racing began in the 1960s, known as the “Golden Era” of motorsport in racing circles. The Tudor Watch Racing Team was founded during this exciting era. In 1970, TUDOR introduced its first chronograph watch, specifically crafted for precisely timing laps and calculating speed while withstanding the physical rigors of professional driving. Today, TUDOR continues to produce ultra-precise chronographs in both its Black Bay and Pelagos collections.

TUDOR recently announced a partnership with a new Formula 1 team for the 2024 season. Continuing its legacy of supporting competition on the racetrack, the brand’s partnership supports the launch of the Visa Cash App RB Formula One team. Forming a new Formula One team requires a committed investment in talent, as well as the acceptance of considerable risk. It’s a fitting match for TUDOR, whose motto is Born to Dare. The new team is led by veteran champion Daniel Ricciardo and rising star Yuki Tsunoda.

“TUDOR has always been fueled by a daring spirit, a consistent will to do things differently,” said TUDOR CEO Eric Pirson. “And this spirit—we call it Born to Dare—is exactly what Visa Cash App RB is demonstrating heading into the 2024 F1 season. We’re beyond thrilled to return to motorsport with a partner that’s ready to take on the challenge,” he added.

The team's striking livery features TUDOR branding, as do the drivers’ race suits. The TUDOR shield logo is prominently displayed on the nose of the car in front of the driver and the inside of the halo safety device. The Visa Cash App RB team is expected to participate in all 24 rounds of the competition spanning more than 20 countries around the globe. It’s a grueling schedule, but this is what the drivers train for year-round.

“Our team will be challenging the status quo in Formula One with a strong identity, unique style and uncompromising quality – just like Tudor watches,” said Peter Bayer, CEO of Visa Cash App RB Formula One Team.

The team’s veteran driver, Daniel Ricciardo, has enjoyed a consistently successful 13-year stint driving in Formula One competitions. The Australian-Italian made his debut in 2011’s British Grand Prix at 22 years of age. In 2014, he finished third in the championship, with his first three wins in Canada, Belgium and Hungary. He has achieved eight total Grand Prix victories and 32 podiums to date in Formula One competition.

Speaking of the new team, Ricciardo said “Visa Cash App RB, it’s another phase of this team’s career,” referring to the team’s predecessor, Scuderia AlphaTauri. “It’s a time where I feel that, yes, we have some amazing partners on board who are gonna help us get closer to the front of

the grid. But I feel like it’s a time where we’re no longer seen as just a kind of junior team. It’s a team that’s standing on their own two feet. And I think for other teams to take us seriously, this is the chapter I feel we are about to start.”

“TUDOR has always been fueled by a daring spirit, a consistent will to do things differently.”
- TUDOR CEO Eric Pirson

Born in 2000, Visa Cash App RB driver Yuki Tsunoda started kart racing at the age of four in his native Japan. His father, Nobuaki Tsunoda, is a former gymkhana racer. By the age of five, Tsunoda was the champion karter in his age group.

“My strength comes from karting,” Tsunoda has said. “I really like to battle, and I don't lose much when battle happens.”

In 2018, he won the Japanese Formula 4, firmly launching his presence on the world stage of international racing. In 2021, he made his Formula One debut at the season opener in Bahrain and was the youngest-ever driver at the Nürburgring. Of his first year in Formula One, Tsunoda said “to reach Formula One – which was my final goal as a driver – you don’t just have to deliver results, you also need some luck, and this is something you can’t control. So, from my side, I knew I always had to give my best at all times.”

TUDOR’s chronograph watches are crafted to give their best both on and off the track, and with their versatile sport-chic style, they are appropriate to wear for nearly every occasion. The TUDOR Pelagos FXD Chrono is powered by the brand’s COSC-certified Calibre MT5813 self-winding movement, with a power reserve of 70 hours.

There are several chronograph options in the Black Bay collection, all equipped with a racing-ready tachymetric scale on the bezel. Models are equipped with either champagne or black dials with contrasting sub-counters. The watches’ date appears in an aperture at 6 o’clock, a design feature inspired by TUDOR’s first chronographs from the 1970s. Three strap options are available within the collection: fabric, steel or steel and gold, and bund leather. The jacquard fabric strap is woven in France on 19th-century looms by the legendary Julien Faure company. The steel and steel-and-gold bracelets’ design harkens back to TUDOR’s folding riveted bracelets from the 1950s and 1960s. The bund leather straps, available in either black or brown, feature a folding clasp for durability.

FASHION FORECASTS

Eleanor Loring and Caitlin Thomas share the big jewelry trends that will sparkle up your wardrobe.

Sophistication. Style. Grace. Warmth. These words are just a few to describe Eleanor Loring and Caitlin Thomas of Loring & Co. Any time spent with these women is treasured and makes it easy to see why they are experts in the jewelry business. Not only do they have extensive knowledge about fine jewelry and fashion jewelry, but also they exude style from head to toe. Their style is something to emulate.

As the holidays approach and your certain someone is looking for that special gift, we wanted to sit down with the best to ask for their guidance on trends, classic pieces, and must haves for every jewelry wardrobe.

what trends are you seeing for holiday?

caitlin Lots of layered necks. Necklaces of all lengths anchored by a tennis necklace or a gold link necklace. For a long time it was only done on the wrist, but now we are seeing that same trend on the neck. We are also seeing lots of diamond ear climbers. In terms of trends, more is more right now!

eleanor People are even layering delicate pieces. I call it, “playing well with others.” Just a single bracelet by itself looks a little lonesome. You need to have some friends with it.

As far as necklaces, I love the versatility of an enhancer. I especially enjoy pieces you can snap on and off that give you a variety of looks. It is fun to have jewelry that can be worn in multiple ways.

caitlin At the Couture jewelry show in Las Vegas, there was a lot of color being shown this year.

what style do you typically gravitate towards?

eleanor Timeless pieces. Pieces that I know I can wear for many, many years. Pieces that I know I can pass on to my children and grandchildren. I look at jewelry as a lifetime purchase. I think one should look for pieces that are going to last and be relevant a hundred years from now. That’s not to say that its not fun to get a great, trendy pair of earrings, I just tend to go more the classic route. I encourage women to think about their jewelry

wardrobe and build on pieces they already have. We always ask husbands or significant others who come in, “What do they already have?”

caitlin To piggy back off of what Eleanor said, I do also think there is a distinction to be made between high jewelry, like a statement emerald or sapphire ring, and fashion jewelry, like Marco Bicego, Sorellina, etc.. And when you build your jewelry wardrobe, there is certainly a place for both categories

what pieces are musts for one’s jewelry wardrobe?

eleanor Every woman needs a basic gold jewelry wardrobe: gold hoops, gold bracelets and a gold necklace. They should also have a basic diamond wardrobe with diamond stud earrings or diamond hoops, an everyday diamond necklace and a simple diamond bracelet. We also feel like a strand of pearls is a wardrobe essential as is a fabulous statement right hand ring.

what are your favorite heirloom pieces?

eleanor A locket my father gave my mother. My father purchased the locket when he was stationed in London during World War II. The locket has a photo of him in his army uniform inside it. My mother cherished it and now I cherish it and hopefully other generations will cherish it too.

caitlin I would say my favorite heirloom piece is my engagement ring which has a Type II A diamond from the Golconda Mine, which shut down in the 1800’s. They are the purest diamonds that have ever been mined, so I feel like that is the most special piece I own.

what staples do you wear over and over that everyone should own?

eleanor Every girl needs diamond hoops.

caitlin I would say diamond studs.

caitlin And I never go without my watch. A watch isn’t just a func tion, it is a reflection of your style.

what are your favorite special occasion pieces?

eleanor I have a little diamond Riviera necklace that I love. It is simple, like a tennis bracelet for your neck.

caitlin My statement diamond earrings.

how can jewelry elevate your style?

caitlin I know so many people who love fashion but are self-pro-

claimed "not jewelry people". And once they start wearing beautiful pieces, they quickly realize that they are, in fact, jewelry people!

Jewelry is like the cherry on top. Great pieces of jewelry, whether high and timeless or fashion and fun, will take your look to the next level.

eleanor It is putting your best foot forward.
