Wright Heerema Architects
My second co-op, during the fall of 2017, was with Wright Heerema Architects. I did a lot of work helping to prepare contract documents and helped to update the firm’s Revit library by making new Revit families and fixing broken ones.
Morris / Huitt-Zollars
My first co-op, during the spring of 2017, was with Morris Architects who officially adopted the name of their parent company, Huitt-Zollars, during the semester. While I was there I mainly did renderings and other miscellaneous tasks for the design team. In addition to a lot of renderings I did some marketing documents for the name change and occasionally helped produce construction documents.

Professional Work - Wright Heerema Architects
This building is a new clinic being constructed outside of Chicago. WHA was hired to do the building shell while another firm does the interior. My involvement in this project was to do the bulk of the Revit work, I would guess that I did about 90% of the work in Revit for this project. I modeled a majority of the building from the designer’s drawings, did all the file set up, and worked closely with the project manager to do some of the details. The image on the lower left is all the elevations, the top right is the roof plan, and the bottom right is the first floor plan. Cook County Vista Clinic
Professional Work - Wright Heerema Architect
This project is a health clinic that is being put into an existing building. I worked on a wide variety of tasks associated with this project including: various modeling, sheet set up, drawing details, and other smaller tasks in Revit. The image on the bottom left is the partition plan, that I had a large part in editing and placing. The image in the top right is a set of enlarged plans that I annotated. The image on the bottom right is a set of millwork details that I compiled, edited, and annotated under the supervision of an interior designer to conform with the client’s regulations. 6400 Shafer Renovations
Professional Work - Wright Heerema Architect
The company that runs this building wanted to do renovations to the lobby, common areas in the basement, and elevator lobbies on most floors. My role in this project was to model the relevant portions of the existing building in Revit from old drawings and help with some modeling of the new areas. The image on the bottom left shows the portions of the building I modeled. The image on the top right is the Demo RCPs of the first and second floors and the image on the bottom right is the Demo plan of the lower level. Revit Library Updates
Professional Work - Wright Heerema Architects
Whenever I wasn’t assigned to a specific project during this co-op I was to help the BIM coordinator update and improve our Revit library. In addition to more mundane tasks like verifying that existing families worked the way they’re supposed to I had the opportunity to make my own fully parametric Revit families that would be included in the firm’s library. The bottom left image is of a light fixture from Restoration Hardware that my BIM coordinator found online for us to make. The other two are generic models without any specific manufacturer. Huitt-Zollars was commissioned to do renovations to their baseball field including a new coaches office/locker room building, a shade over a portion of the stands, and a sort of entry plaza with a bar outside the stadium. I produced all the concept images for this project taking into consideration structural and design recommendations from my supervisor and coworkers. The most recent rendering of the shade is below and the most recent renderings for the entry plaza are to the right. Two versions of the coach’s office and locker rooms were made. The first version is below and the second version is to the right. There was a misunderstanding over the location of the building in relation to the field, necessitating the creation of a second version. Name Change Marketing Images
Professional Work - Morris / Huitt-Zollars
On January 1, 2013 Morris Architects was officially purchased by Huitt-Zollars. On March 1, 2017 Morris: A Huitt-Zollars company officially changed it’s name to Huitt-Zollars and terminated its independent website. As part of the name change I was asked to assist in preparing website mock-ups for the new Huitt-Zollars site and in making posters that were intended to be displayed in the lobby of every office to recognizing the name change. The images on the bottom left are the set of 3 posters, intended to be presented sequentially. The website mock-ups on the right are the 2 basic designs, there were between 4 and 6 variations of each layout. Riverside Rowhouse
Architectural Class Work
The objective was to create a row house on a small property in Covington KY, right next to the Ohio River. My building was designed as a cohouse, able to house 4 people each with their own private space while still sharing public space. The images on the bottom left are the 4 early concept models, the lower right image is a larger iteration model, and the top right is the final model Project Information: Class: Design Lab V Date: Spring 2018 Professor: Ryan Ludwig

Trammel Fossil Park Visitor’s Center
Architectural Class Work
Cincinnati is well known in the geological community for the ancient fossils that can be found here. One of the places where these fossils are found is the Trammel Fossil Park. Our assignment was to design a visitor’s center for this park. The images on the bottom left represent the design process. The image on the top left is the edrioasteriod Isorophus cincinnatiensis, a fossil that influenced the design of an existing display (top right). I modeled my building off the same precedent. Sketches
Communication Skills II Sketches
Project Information: Class: Communication Skills II Date: Spring 2016 Professor: Brian Andrews
Michelangelo: As a class of over 100 students in Communication Skills II we made Michelangelo’s The Last Judgment out of Charcoal. Each student was given one gridded section of the painting to produce as close to exactly as possible. The entire project is pictured below and my section is pictured above.
54
Invisible Cities: In Communication Skills II we were to choose a city from Calvino Italo’s Invisible Cities and draw it. I chose Laudomia; a city of three: the city of the dead, the city of the living, and the city of the unborn, all of which are proportional to the number of people in that area. This drawing took over 23 hours to complete.
Analytique: We went to the Cincinnati Museum of Art and were asked to construct an analytique of the building, adding various components into each other in order to effectively summarize the building in a single image. This drawing took over 21 hours to complete.

Daily Sketches Sketches
We were to do one sketch every day over the course of ten weeks, at the end of which we chose our 5 best sketches to be graded. Some sketches were hand drawn and others were made digitally. Here are some of the better ones. The drawings on the right were all hand drawn while the two below were made digitally. Totem Pole Segment
Miscellaneous Cool Stuff
A little bit of context. Every year, the 5 Order of the Arrow Lodges in Section C-4B gather for a Conclave. At each Conclave we make a totem pole to commemorate the event with each Lodge bringing a section to contribute. At Conclave all the totem pole segments from the 5 Lodges are put together. Last year my Lodge, Tecumseh Lodge #65, needed someone to do it so I designed and built this. This project helped to further develop my abilities with a laser cutter and forced me to adhere to a budget. Project Information: Organization: Tecumseh Lodge Order of the Arrow Date: Summer 2017

Miscellaneous Cool Stuff
The task was to choose 100 ordinary household objects and bind them together with a single item. I chose toy soldiers and string. The idea was to create an American flag out of these soldiers, who are bound together, to symbolize the idea that our country only exists thanks to the soldiers throughout our history who gave their lives for the United States. The country is, in this case literally, held together by our fallen soldiers. I took the flag with me to Normandy, France, in order to document it in its “ideal location, the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial.
