Tony DeVille

Owner, Piercer & Tattooist

Tony DeVille has earned more than 30 awards as a tattoo artist during his 15 years as a tattooist, ranging from ‘Best in Show’ to ‘Black and Grey’ to lettering and being voted one of Baltimore’s Ultimate Tattooists by B-Magazine in 2012. His talents are well versed in the tattooing industry but he especially enjoys black and gray realism and full color custom designs. “My strength lies in black and gray style, but I love doing color work. I learn something new everyday, and appreciate the fact that my work speaks for itself,” stated Tony. “Continuing to learn and grow as an artist and craftsman is a life-long pursuit.” “I have a blast tattooing,” Tony continues. “I’ve worked my way up the ladder, it is a very tight and closed industry. Some people think that because they can draw, they can pick up a vibrating instrument and draw a straight line on somebody. It doesn’t work that way. If you really want to be a tattoo artist, go and talk to a tattooist. Try to get an apprenticeship. An apprenticeship can be really expensive, but it’s really worth it.”

Tony grew up in Baltimore City and studied art in high school. “I’ve been drawing since I was a little kid,” recalled Tony. “I fell into the tattoo industry. I have a background in medicine. I was an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) and volunteer fire fighter at one point. Then I met a guy who asked me if I was interested in becoming a piercer. It went from there. I can pierce you from head to toe, any part of your body.” DeVille is one of Maryland’s few Master Piercers having done over half a million piercings. As the owner and operator of DeVille Ink Tattoo & Piercing Company, Tony DeVille wears many hats. In addition to his tattoo and piercing ability, Tony enjoys photography, website design and graphic design – he maintains the website for DeVille Ink Tattoo & Piercing Company. Tony has and continues to donate his art, time and money to many charities and foundations. During the month of November, Tony raises awareness for breast cancer survivors by donating a portion of proceeds of ribbon tattoos to the Susan G. Komen fund. He has done the same for HIV Awareness (December) and the Twin Towers Orphan Fund (September).

“We try and keep things more personal and give back as much as possible,” said Tony. “We like to work closely with other local businesses and sponsor some local, regional and national bands as well.” Tony prides himself on keeping a clean shop, “Everything is real bright, very well lit, ultra clean.” He is certified in Air and Blood Borne pathogens and is certified in CPR and first aid. Diana of Baltimore, posted this review on Yelp!, “First tattoo place I have liked in a long time. Came in with my own design they walked me through it and did an amazing job! I get tons of compliments on the work done. The owner (Tony DeVille) did my tattoo and he was fantastic. Super clean, great friendly staff, the artists are fantastic and they do community activities too. Can’t beat that!” Lisa Dreyer gave DeVille 5-Stars on Google+ saying, “Great Place! Great People! Thanks Tony for the tattoos. The experience was great. I have told Reference Photo several friends and

we plan on going back. Don’t overlook DeVille Ink! Check ‘em out…these guys are addicting!!!!” Building DeVille Ink Tattoo and Piercing Company along side of his wife and partner, KC DeVille, they employ five full-time artists, plus a piercer. Tony lives by the company’s motto, “If you can think it, we can ink it. We specialize in you!!” Completed Tattoo

Baltimore Tattoo Artist Honors Those Lost On 9/11 wbal.com

An award winning Baltimore tattoo artist is doing what he can to honor the memory of those lost in the 9/11 terrorist attacks and to help those children who were left behind. Tony DeVille, owner of DeVille Ink Tattoo and Piercing in Baltimore, is offering 9/11themed tattoos. For $50 or $25 folks can get tattoos focusing on the Twin Towers, the Pentagon and Flight 93 to benefit the Twin Towers Orphans Fund. “We’ve done a lot through the years (focusing on 9/11) but for this specific event we are doing 4 tattoos,” DeVille tells WBAL’s Scott Wykoff. “One of them has everything with the Pentagon, the Twin Towers and with Flight 93 in the center and then we’re doing one for each one of the branches and Flight 93 that actually went down and we put the number of people who actually passed away on the flight.” He believes getting a tattoo is one way folks here in Baltimore can honor and mourn those whose lives were taken 10 years

ago in the 9/11 attacks and to benefit those who lost parents on that day. “This is ingrained to everybody who saw it or will see it so it’s a very good way to put everything on there permanently so you can have a visual as well as a mental,” added DeVille. The Baltimore business owner says it was also important for him to find a worthy organization to benefit on this 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on 9/11. “Well what we did is I went on the Internet and found who was doing everything for children and I found the most reputable one and did my research behind them and then contacted them (Twin Towers Orphans Fund),” said DeVille. Tony is also a founding member and sponsor of Hot Rods for Heroes, a Maryland-based charitable foundation established in 2010 with a singular purpose: to say “thank-you” to our Nation’s Heroes – the active and retired members of the five branches of the Armed Services, the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard.

He says some people get very emotional when they come into his shop to get their 9/11 tattoos. “Absolutely,” says DeVille. “Somebody knows somebody who was affected through it or they were affected themselves.” “It affects everybody and we are all Americans and we’re proud to be Americans and this is the way we can show it.”

“This is an award winning shop that produces quality art. I have been pierced at DeVille Ink (Tony is a master piercer, the owner and goes above and beyond). Micro dermal implants, lip, nostril, second navel, you name it! They explain everything – the entire process including aftercare. They have even fixed old shop’s mess-ups. Their jewelry is top of the line and they sell it for such a reasonable price. I have researched each piercing prior to getting them done and I would not go anywhere else. They honor their quality work and are there to help out (like changing jewelry) even after the piercing is done - no matter how long after. They will also consult with you before you get your piercing done. The first time I went to get pierced there, the consult confirmed that they were the place to go. I’ve also had Tony do cover-ups and have had hours of tattoo sessions with him. Not only is he talented, but professional and knows his stuff. I am so happy with the art I have. He has fixed a lot of junk work, but also created new pieces that are just gorgeous and flow with my body and the rest of my ink. KC DeVille does amazing work as well. Her art is beautiful. I suggest visiting them, looking around at the shop and talking to them to get the full DeVille ink experience. It is well worth a visit.” – Ashleigh O. “The one and only place I go....” – Lisa Marie Feher “Want to give a great big THANK YOU to DeVille Ink for the amazing tattoo work and all the help in designing and executing my tattoo sleeve. I can’t say enough great things…I won’t go anywhere else for tattoo work, period. – TJ Bailey

He’s known on the local and regional music scene. DeVille Ink is a proud sponsors of: Silvertung, Kelly Bell Band, Ghost of War, Korupt and Psykotic Melody. Silvertung has spent the last year elevating themselves from a ‘local band’ to a regional act on the verge of becoming a national recording and touring act. As the band was putting the finishing touches on their latest

release, “Devil’s In The Details” release, they called on Tony to drawn the cover artwork. Tony said: “I was very excited when I was approached with the idea of doing an album cover for Silvertung. I’ve been tattooing the band on quite a few occasions and we talked about the possibility, so I was delighted when it actually happened. I am very pleased with the results and proud to play a part of Silvertung’s career!”

Silvertung lead-vocalist, Speed adds: “I’ve been talking with Tony DeVille for a long time about painting a CD cover for the band and it has finally happened! We couldn’t be more excited and pleased with the cover, and the music behind it kicks ass!”

Fast-Rising Rockers Silvertung Unleash Killer “Devil’s In The Details” If it’s high-octane rock you’re craving – with tons of attitude – then Silvertung is your band, and ‘Devil’s in the Details’ is your album. Produced/engineered by Steven Wright (who has worked with everyone from Slipknot to Avril Lavigne), the just-released ‘Devil’s in the Details’ is chock full of no-nonsense, hard-hitting hard rock/heavy metal, as evidenced by the lead-off single, “Coming Alive,” as well as such awesome cuts as “Justify” and “Déjá Vu.” As the group’s singer/ guitarist, Speed, explains, “This group of songs is definitely special and much more diverse, and I’d say it’s ‘deeper’.” And the early reviews have been stellar, as evidenced by this quote from All Access Magazine – “’Devil’s In The Details’ is a smoking showcase of huge tones and monster riffs. Basically, NO FRILLS RIFF ROCK! Silvertung promises to be one of the hottest new rock bands to arrive on the rock music scene. Highly recommended.” Hailing from Maryland, Silvertung is comprised of Speed, lead guitarist ZZ, bassist Skoot, and

drummer Danno, and have created a tremendous local buzz, on the strength of their live show, which has seen the quartet share the stage with countless national acts, including Godsmack, Disturbed, Shinedown, Slipknot, Staind, Papa Roach, Buckcherry, Filter, Drowning Pool, and P.O.D., among countless others. And while it’s their music and live performance that truly speaks for

itself, the band also possesses quite an interesting moniker, as well. “The name Silvertung was revived from an 80’s porno movie, though the spelling was ‘Silver Tongue’,” recalls Speed. “We were practicing in my uncle’s basement. And being guys, we had to check out these old porno tapes. I think they were VHS tapes. [Laughs] But I really liked the name, just did not like the spelling.

But then ‘The Simpsons’ had an episode ‘Silver Tongue,’ and I thought, ‘Ok, this is a sign.’ But I still did not like the spelling. So I said, ‘What about Tung instead of Tongue?’ I heard something about the Korean Mafia, the Tungs. I thought that was very cool. So the name Silvertung was born…” And as with all true hard rock bands, you can expect Silvertung to deliver the goods on the concert stage. “We are absolutely passionate about live music,” says ZZ. “It’s this exchange of energy from us to the crowd, then from the crowd right back to us. There is nothing else like it in the world. When the fans are singing our music back to us word for word, and their volume is louder than ours... wow. It doesn’t get any better than that.”

Ghost of War was formed in 2009, by guitarist Thane Farace and vocalist Ronnie Peterson. They set out to create a band that they would want to see & hear live. Both veterans to the music scene, with a combined over 50 years, experience. They quickly teamed up with bassist Gary Daniels and drummer Doug Readmond. They’re based out of Gettysburg, PA. Ghost of War is traditional American metal, with a just the right touch of progr/power/Euro metal, to set the tone for what is being described by many as Metallica meets Helloween meets Iced Earth meets Motorhead! Ghost of War is Nationally sponsored by Jägermeister, and have been since 2009. They’ve been featured on local and national music festivals, including most recently, they were hand-picked by Jägermeister out of hundreds of other bands, to be their showcase band to play on the “Welcome To Rockville Festival” in Jacksonville, FL. In 2013 they also won the $10,000 prize in the Quiet Riot battle of the bands in Philadelphia PA, with drummer Frankie Banali being the deciding vote

to give them the big win. Which landed them on the Rockstar Energy Drink Festival “Philadelphia Soul Summer Slam.” Ghost of War is also sponsored by DeVille Ink & Piercing Co., Epiphone Guitars, Clayton Guitar accessories and Redbeard Leather works. They’re 4 hard working old school rock n roll

musicians, that literally started from the ground up, drawing from years of experience, and bringing the know-how of what to do and what not to do to make this band successful. Taking little pieces of their

personal and musical influences, combining them so they explode like a nuclear blast. They combine in your face metal, thrash, hardcore, rock n roll, and acoustic to create their own unique sound, that is like no other. Imagine the rawness, the fury, the anger of “Master Of Puppets” or “Bonded By Blood” with today’s technology. If you took Rob Halford, Ripper Owens, Ronnie James Dio, Bruce Dickinson, Joey Belladonna & Geoff Tate vocals, then added Eddie Van Halen, Zakk Wylde, Yngwie Malmsteen & Richie Blackmore guitar work, then added Steve Harris, Jimmy Bain, Geezer Butler and Geddy Lee bass lines, along with the thunderous drumming of Gene Hoglan, Charlie Benante, Paul Bostaph and Mickey Dee, you would have exactly the dream band every metal fanatic wants right? Well that is Ghost of War! With the triumphant debut of their CD “Only Death is Real” in 2012, it quickly received rave reviews from many national and regional media outlets. They drew deep down from all of their

earliest and most current influences. From speed metal trash tunes like “The Absolute Nothing” which has been described as Exodus meets Death Angel. To songs like “SHE” which is a “ballad like” Rush meets Triumph kind of beautiful melodic song. To “Falling Into Eternity” which could very well be mistaken for Iced Earth or Helloween. . Since the release of their CD, the songs “Beautiful Lies” & “Falling into Eternity” they have remained #1 in Gettysburg, PA and surrounding areas on Reverbnation . And have sold over 4,000 physical copies of their Debut CD. As well as over 1,000’s of digital songs directly from iTunes, Amazon, Google

Play, Spotify, Best Buy, Sony Music and more.

even featured on the CD, with a modern, faster, harder hitting version (still staying true to its original roots) that is radio ready for everyone to crank up! Also on the CD is the “Crazy World of Arthur Brown” 1968 classic “Fire”. Re-recorded faster, and more frantic than the most ripping heavy metal you have heard.

Ghost of War claimed stake in the Mid-Atlantic region to “Bring the metal back to the people.” This is an American Band! & that classic Grand Funk Railroad song is

Ghost of War takes great pride and detail into their “live shows” to include something for the eyes as well as the ears, to enjoy. They bring the audience into the mix and often bring

special guests on stage to make them feel a part of the show. Playing with many national acts all over the east coast, including most recently they were asked directly by the main acts to be the direct support for them, including; Leatherwolf, Matt Barlow & Freddie Vidales (Iced Earth, Ashes Of Ares) as well as Ronny Munroe (Metal Church), and Neil Turbin (Death Riders & Anthrax). Ghost of War is also Neil Turbins backing band when he travels the east coast. They were also called upon by the Randy Rhoads Remembered Tribute show featuring Brian Tichy, Rudy Sarzo, Michael Devin, Phil Demmel and more, to perform as their main support act in Waynesboro, PA.

As one reviewer put it, “Keep your eyes on these guys and catch them at a show ASAP… they are sitting on dynamite and about to explode!”

What happens when the inmates run the asylum??? You get the Psykotic Melody of these four certifiable psychopaths. PM is an original rock band who also twist the sounds of some cover songs. Playing a variety of music from their originals to STP, Seether, and even Neil Young, you will not leave their show with the sanity you came with. Prepare to become an INMATE with Pyskotic Melody…

Pronunciation: ‘fat ‘blüz ‘myü-zik Definition: Imagine Muddy Waters wearing a Bob Marley T-shirt, riding on Black Sabbath’s tour bus, en route to a Parliament/ Funkadelic concert, listening to a James Brown 8-track, humming a Run-DMC song, all in the glory of Bo Diddley.

Voted the Best Blues Band in the Mid Atlantic Region 12 years in a row, the Kelly Bell Band is “among the most genre-expanding acts on today’s blues scene. Who else can combine elements of hip-hop, funk, and blues-electrified here, Delta there, horn driven elsewhere – and still manage to sound sincere? A forward view of the way blues is transitioning in today’s scene…Bell’s an honest poet and an outstanding singer with lots to say.” – Blues Revue Magazine. Formed as a backup band for Bo Diddley, the Kelly Bell Band is now in its nineteenth year of playing, recording, and entertaining fans. KBB released their debut album, ‘Phat Blues Music’ in 1998. It remains one of the best selling CDs in Mid-Atlantic region history. The band followed with the equally successful studio albums ‘Ain’t Like it Used to Be’ (2001) and ‘Chasing the Sun’ (2002). In 2004, KBB released their first live album ‘Live From the Recher Theatre…Finally.’ ‘Reincarnated’ (2007), shows Bell’s diversity as a vocalist, taking fans from the Phat Blues rendition of the

cartoon favorite “SpongeBob Squarepants” to the soulful, breathtaking acapella rendition of “No Different (Inside Kelly)”. In 2008, the KBB released ‘Live from Dr. Unk’s’ (DVD). In addition

to the high energy show, the DVD includes bonus footage of Bell as an MCW wrestler, and interviews with the band. In their characteristic zealous style, the band released the CDs ‘That’s What’s Up’ and ‘I’m Just Sayin’’ that same year. The band’s much anticipated ‘Should Have Been You’, (2012),

combines quintessential KBB originals with Phat Blues renditions of a few old blues favorites. In addition to his role as front man, KBB’s success has also been promoted by Bell’s presence in Baltimore. Bell is a regular on several area radio shows, performs as a professional wrestler, has written, recorded and acted in commercials, and several television and movie appearances. Backed by vocalist Rahsaan ‘Wordsalve’ Eldridge, guitarists Ryan Fowler and Ira Mayfield, bassist Derrick Dorsey, drummer John Robert Buell and saxophone player Alex Crean, KBB is always working on their next album, and rehearses regularly. Bell doesn’t take any show, song or praise for granted. His goal remains to put on the best show every night for every fan, and strives to make personal connections. The band can often be found conversing with fans before shows, during breaks, and staying to sign every last CD after shows.
