CONTINUING EDUCATION

Continuing Education Courses

Continuing Education provides non-credit classes that can teach or enhance a skill, fill a gap, lead to a credential, or further a personal interest. Courses range in length from 2 hours to 200+ hour course off erings.

Short-Term Technical Skills Courses

Skills and training are learned in a year or less and are off ered in Healthcare, Public Safety, Manufacturing, Construction, Hospitality, and Business to meet the training needs of local healthcare facilities, businesses and industry. Most courses are completed in under a year and students will obtain industry recognized credentials that provide opportunities for employment.

Trying to Complete High School Requirements or Refresh Your Skills? COLLEGE & CAREER READINESS

CCR serves all students seeking to improve essential academic skills necessary for educational and career success. Direction, instruction and assistance are available for students who need to: • Complete an adult high school or high school equivalency diploma • Improve career skills • Refresh Math or English skills to prepare for gateway courses • Learn English as a second language

Day, evening and Saturday classes are available to meet the needs of all students. All classes are free to all students.

Tuition and fees are FREE!

Textbooks and Materials

Students are responsible for the cost of textbooks and materials.

Transportation

Davidson-Davie does not provide transportation to the campus.

Parking

Students traveling to the Davidson-Davie campus will not be required to pay a fee for parking.

Inclement Weather Policy

Students attending classes on the Davidson or Davie campuses must adhere to the College’s Inclement Weather Policy.

Parent/Guardian Inquires

Students are encouraged to deal with classroom issues directly with faculty. If the situation arises, all parent or guardian inquiries related to a Career and College Promise student’s attendance and/or performance in a Davidson-Davie class must be directed to the Director of High School Partnerships and Initiatives at anissa_ wall@davidsondavie.edu. For students enrolled in Yadkin Valley Regional Career Academy or an Early College High School, please direct your inquiries to the appropriate College Liaison.

High School Hub

The High School Hub is a community space available for high school students to hang out and study between classes. The High School Hub is located on the first floor of the Mendenhall building.
