Nautical Licence Course The MCAST Maritime Institute is organising Basic Seamanship and Safe Boat Handling courses. This course is required by all drivers of mechanically driven craft having engine output of 30 H.P. or more, as published in Legal Notice 57 of 2010. ESF2.85 - LINKING INDUSTRIAL NEEDS AND VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING TO OPTIMISE HUMAN CAPITAL

TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES FOR MALTESE WORKERS Following extensive consultations with local employers in various sectors, MCAST is offering new lifelong learning opportunities to help you gain new skills and qualifications to advance in your career and to meet the ever-changing employment demands of the local industry. Employed persons, unemployed individuals seeking employment, or persons who are currently inactive but are interested to enter the labour market, may apply for these evening courses which are being offered free-of-charge. This training opportunity is being financed through the European Social Fund, as part of a project coordinated by MCAST, in collaboration with the Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS), the Malta Qualifications Council (MQC), and with the support of the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry. Each course involves 60 lecturing hours, and sessions will be held twice weekly, between 17:30hrs and 20:30hrs. The exact days of each course will be communicated to the applicants before the sessions begin. Each course comprises four ECVET (European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training) credits. Prospective learners may apply for more than one course.
