Renewable Energy Systems and PV Installation The MCAST Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, in collaboration with the Malta Resources Authority (MRA), is organising comprehensive courses for electricians interested in working on the installation of photovoltaic (PV) systems. These courses constitute a partial requirement for the acquisition of the relevant MRA certification which installers of PV systems should possess, in terms of the Renewable Energy Directive 2009/28/EC. These courses deal with the principles of operation and the interpretation of the national and international legal requirements of different types of renewable energy systems. The programme focuses on the practical aspect of PV installation.

To be eligible for this course, you should have a good knowledge of English and Wiremanâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Licence A. Upon completion of this programme together with a MQF Level 5 qualification you will be entitled to receive PV Installation Certification from MRA.

You would need to have a MQF Level 5 qualification and a Wiremanâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Licence B, or an Electrical Engineering degree, to apply for this top-up module and be eligible for the relevant three-phase PV Installation Certification from MRA.
