* The pedaling for the piano solo is marked for some of the bars, but for the most part should be left to the discretion of the soloist.

* The Electric Bass part is not optional. I have included a Contrabass part if there is no Contrabass Clarinet player available, but it is not a replacement for the Electric Bass part. * The horn, trombone, flugelhorn and bassoon solos need to lead the group. It is helpful to instruct the soloists to play as if it were a solo piece and not just a solo inside the ensemble.

* If using the optional Boy Choir parts, please be aware that those parts are doubled in the winds and the balance will need to be adjusted accordingly. * The whistling parts at Rehearsal A should be as light as possible – blending with the crystal glass timbre. I suggest no more than 3-4 whistlers on each note; the C and B. * The tempo, from Rehearsal C and on, should always have forward motion. It is tempting to want to slow down at Rehearsal F and Rehearsal G, but the tempo needs to remain consistent to the quarter note pulse being laid down by the piano solo.

* The bassoon solo at Rehearsal D should be well in front of the group and the player should be very comfortable in the upper range.
