David Wells stands outside The Aegis building on Hays Street in Bel Air Maryland on the first day of his internship.

Begining on June 2, 2009, I started work at The Aegis. The Aegis has been publishing in Harford County from its Bel Air, Maryland headquarters since 1856. The Aegis is a part of the Homestead Publishing Co. The Aegis is the company’s oldest and largest newspaper with a circulation of over 56,000 publishing every Wednesday and Friday. The Homestead Publishing Co. is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Baltimore Sun Co. which is owned by Tribune Company of Chicago. In addition to the

Aegis, Homestead Publishing Co. publications include The Record, The Aegis Weekenders, Harford and APG News. The newspapers have a combined readership of 422,000 per week. With more than 150 years of publishing experience, Homestead Publishing Co. is Harford County’s number one news source. Because I am interning for The Aegis, and Homestead Publishing Co., my photos have the opportunity to be published in all of these sources of news. The Record is the other main source of publication.
