Craig Gooden

C

raig Gooden serves as the Outreach Co-ordinator at PEACE, which is an evangelistic training centre. He gave his life to Jesus at the age of 20 and has a great love for His Redeemer. Since then he has been involved in different departments within the church such as Religious Liberties, Personal Ministries and Eldership. During his years of growth he gained a passion for Evangelism. In 2007 he went to participate in an Evangelistic training course in the USA from which he graduated. Shortly after returning he continued to give Bible studies, training, presenting and preaching to the point where he said he wants to work for GOD full-time. Craig has had the great opportunity to be invited around the UK and to different parts of Europe such as, Holland, Switzerland and Croatia presenting the Gospel and our need to share the Gospel. He also enjoys fellowship, reading and traveling.

More about PEACE PEACE is based on a proven evangelistic training formula developed by many highly susuccessful Evangelists and Bible Workers.

What makes PEACE different to most introductory evangelism training centres of its type is that it draws professional and experienced teaching staff from all over the world; experienced staff in the North England Conference (NEC), and from the Evangelistic schools in the USA. This will therefore give students an opportunity to work under the guidance of a highly experienced evangelistic team. What also makes PEACE unique is that it combines classroom teaching with hands on practical evangelistic experience, that includes door-to-door work and planning and running an evangelistic campaign. PEACE also provides opportunity for shortterm training for those who want to continue development in a structured environment through short courses. It is the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church to present to every living person the everlasting gospel in the context of the three angels’ messages of Revelation 14.

What We Believe Seventh-day Adventists accept the Bible as the only source of our beliefs. We consider our movement to be the result of the Protestant conviction Sola Scriptura—the Bible as the only standard of faith and practice for Christians. We believe that God Loves God is love, power, and splendour—and God is a mystery. His ways are far beyond us, but He still reaches out to us. God is infinite yet intimate, three yet one, all-knowing yet all-forgiving.

We believe that God Creates From neurons to nebulae, DNA to distant galaxies, we are surrounded by wonder.

We believe that God Redeems Love. Harmony. Perfection. Once, all creation sang the same glorious song.

We believe that God Inhabits Jesus left His followers with an epic mission: tell the world of His love and His promise to return. Also, they should love people the way He loved them.

We believe that God Transforms God’s law in the Ten Commandments show us how to live and make clear our need for Jesus. Though the law shows us the path to follow and convicts us of sin, it’s about far more than just toeing the line.

We believe that God Triumphs From the Garden of Eden to the Tower of Babel, the destruction of Sodom to the Exodus from Egypt, God has always investigated before taking action.

The Good News of the Gospel

I

n a day of depressing headlines and uncertainty all around us, good news is very welcome. What better news could there be than as the old Fanny Crosby hymn says: “The vilest offender who truly believes, that moment from Jesus a pardon receives?” When Christians refer to the “Gospel” they are referring to the “good news” that Jesus Christ died to pay the penalty for our sin so that we might become the children of God through faith in Christ. Here in Northampton we not only want to preach the good news of the gospel, but we want to live the Gospel. In Matthew 25:35,36 Jesus spoke these words ‘For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ Jesus then goes onto say in verse 40 ‘Whatever you do for those in need, you do it for Me.’

The 8 Laws of Health

L

ocally we are involved in a number of areas of need. We have links with the Hope Centre at Oasis House. Here many homeless people are fed and clothed and have access to other local groups who can help to re-house and rehabilitate. We also go out on the streets of Northampton on a weekly basis, to speak to those in need, spending time with them and doing what we can to help. We also have a team who are involved in reaching-out to those in prison. On a National and worldwide level, we have representatives of ADRA (Adventists Development and Relief Agency). They are an independent humanitarian agency established by the Seventh-day Adventist Church for the specific purpose of individual and community development and disaster relief. Most recently they have responded to the Nepal earthquake disaster and are currently on the ground in the Dhading Besi district, providing relief.

In proper amounts, these 8 practical aspects of life can greatly increase our health.

Nutrition (Diet)

What we eat is important. Most people eat things because they like them. And what’s wrong with that? Shouldn’t we like the things we eat? Or does God tell us what we should and shouldn’t eat?

Exercise

Walking, and other forms of exercise, allow our bodies to do what they were made for.

Water

Water gives us life. It is the source of healing, energy, and cleansing.

Sunlight

Sunlight brings many health benefits when we enjoy it in moderation.

Temperance

Temperance means more than just moderation. Temperance is moderation in the things that are good and total abstinence from the things that are not for our bodies.

Air

Fresh air is a key element for optimum health!

Rest

Our bodies need rest in order to function. Are you getting the right quality and quantity of rest?

Trust

God has good plans for us, and that includes our health. Do you trust Him with your mind and your body? To find out more about these 8 laws, please visit the following website: www.restorenorthampton.org.uk/
