Knowing how to build your own solar panel will allow you to save money as well as to help conserve the environment. As you know, the sun is the most abundant source of fuel in the solar system. So, using solar energy is better and more cost-effective than using other energy sources. It is natural and not harmful to nature. There are no emissions involved. You will enjoy numerous benefits if you choose to use solar panels. Solar energy is both sustainable and renewable. It never runs out, and can even be generated. You can have as much of it as you want. Aside from being able to produce electricity, it can also refuel vehicles. If you build your own solar panel, you can have a steady supply of energy for years; thus, allowing you to reduce expenses and save money. Do not worry about maintenance. Solar panels are easy to clean and maintain once they have been installed. Solar panels are also silent producers of energy, so there would not be a possibility of noise pollution. An ideal location for your solar panels is the rooftop. This would allow them to absorb sunlight and generate electricity easily and without obstruction. Nonetheless, you may also place them anywhere reachable by sunlight. It would also be up to whether to lay them flat on your roof or position them at a certain angle for maximum effect. In addition, the government offers good rebates and incentives to those who install and make the panels. These incentives are given to encourage residents to switch to renewable sources of energy. There are different incentives for every state, though. Check out sites that show the incentive programs available in each state. If you produced more electricity than you actually needed, you might even be able to sell this back to the utility company and obtain electricity credits. Anyway, if this is the first time that you are making your own solar panels, consider a few important factors. Determine if you live in the northern or southern hemisphere. Your location will greatly affect the amount of sunlight that you would be getting. If you live in the northern hemisphere, for instance, you should position the panels to the south in order to capture sufficient amounts of sunlight. You should also assess your skills. Obviously, you would need some carpentry skills. Do not worry because making solar panels is not that hard; although, you must have the necessary materials. Visit your local home improvement or hardware store to buy parts. You may also buy online for an easier and more convenient transaction. Some of the common tools for making these panels are saw, wire cutters, caulking gun, soldering iron, volt meter, drill, plexiglass cutter, screwdriver, flux pen, and paint brush. Other materials include plywood, plywood sheeting, tin wire, solder, solar cells or micro crystal cells, silicon caulk, plexiglass, and UV-ray protective varnish. Put your solar panels together and make sure that there are no gaps. These gaps will allow air inside; thus creating moisture. They will also allow rain to be

collected inside. Be extra careful when you build your own solar panel.
