GENERAL INFORMATION:
All bows have a standard grip that is suitable for most archers, however you can request one with high profile or low profile at no extra charge. Duplicating an existing grip requires the sending of grip and an additional charge. All bows are tillered for Mediterranean shooting style (a finger above and two fingers below the arrow) if you want a setting for three fingers below, it is definitely possible without extra charge. The selection of woods we offer is wide and it guarantees availability over time. If you still prefer a wood type which is not included in our selection please let us know and we will try to satisfy your requests. All bows are finished with 7 layers of matte varnish which offer a good protection and an elegant look. It is possible to have a glossy varnish paying a surcharge. All Mito bows are covered by a warranty for two years after the date of purchase.
HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR BOW: To guide you in choosing all the features you have in mind for your new Custom Mito bow, your dealer has a special order form with which, in cooperation with the dealer, you can send the order for your Mito bow, which will be unique and exclusive. Here below are all the explanations on the form that you will need to fill in: A custom bow is made just for you and, as a tailored suit, you will love to have your name printed on the limb, without any extra charge. Choosing your bow starts with determining whether you want a Take Down bow, a One Piece or a Longbow. After this simple but fundamental choice, you can proceed to the customization of the bow.
BOW LENGTH The Take Down bows can be manufactured in lengths of 62, 64 and 66 inches, the length of the limb is always the same, only the length of the riser changes (respectively 17, 19 or 21 inches). Mind that for the greater lengths there is a supplement of charge which will be calculated directly on the order form. The One Piece bows can only be made in length 62 inches; while the longbows can be produced both in 66 and in 68 inches (the choice of the different lengths does not involve differences in price). The choice of the length of the bow is absolutely personal, in function of individual preferences, but for long draw length (over 29’’), we recommend that you always choose the longer length.
22
DRAW WEIGHT Being a custom bow, the draw weight can be chosen by the customer with a minimum of 25 pounds and a maximum of 65. The draw weight can be ordered at the customer’s specific draw length and the same will be indicated on the bow (example 57# @ 29.5“). The bow will be calibrated to the desired draw weight within +/- 1 pound. Only for the Take Down, it is possible to order an even more precise draw weight for a small extra fee. If you desire the bow to be weighted following the AMO standards, please indicate 28” in the draw length box.
SHOOTING STYLE Normally all bows are tillered for the Mediterranean-style shooting (with a finger above and two fingers below the arrow). If you want your bow to be pre set for a draw with three fingers under the nock you can have it without any additional fee.
OUTER LIMB LAMINATION The outer limb lamination is one of the points that characterize the bow the most. Limbs can be made with outer limb laminations in different materials, for details browse through the pages of this guide, in which bows are represented with various combinations of woods. The choice of limb lamination can be made independently for both the outer face (toward the target) and the inner one (towards the archer). Dark Bamboo / Gun-metal grey, Natural bamboo, Bamboo yellow-gold, Osage, Maple, Cherry wood, Cypress, Black fiber. For an additional fee, the following finishes are also available: Yew, Olive wood, Ebony. Since the sides of the limbs (internal and external) can be different according to the choice of the customer, the additional charge for the above materials is intended for a single side.
INNER LIMB LAMINATION The internal structure of the limb is usually made of the same essence as the outer face of the limb, with the exception of the Ebony and Olive, for which it is made of Bamboo. To increase the performance of the bow is possible, for an additional charge, to insert a sheet of carbon to increase speed or a sheet of aluminum to increase the stability of the bow. Lamination in aluminum is not possible on One Piece bows.
LIMB TIPS Limb tips are usually made of black horn. This ensures a high resistance to the stress transmitted by any kind of strings available on the market. To further differentiate the aesthetic of the bow you can choose the limb tips in Sambar deer horn.
RISER The riser structure is usually divided in three parts: front, center and back. Generally speaking, a customer can combine the three parts as he prefers, with the exceptions of the olive wood, which can’t be used for the front side of recurve bows riser and in the inner parts of longbows and of the yew which can only be used for the back side of recurve bows and for the front and back sides of longbows. Regardless of the structure and of the number of wood types chosen you need to list all the three wood species for the front, inner and back parts. The wood types available are: Wenge, Padouk, Doussie, Walnut, Maple, Evaporated maple , Pear wood, Bubinga, Cherry wood, Zebrawood.
The following are also available for an extra fee: Olive wood, Rosewood, Yew, Ebony Amara, Teknowood in grey or black. For recurve bows (One Piece and Take Down), it is also possible to choose to have a single block riser (made of Teknowood) or made of two pieces, in which case the wood used for the back will the one suitable for both central and back parts and the eventual surcharge will be the sum of the two parts. For a correct calculation of the price, weather the riser is made of a single or a two piece combination, always select the wood for all three parts.
GRIP All the bows have a standard grip that fits most archers. However, it is possible to ask for a high wrist or low wrist grip without any surcharge. It is also possible to duplicate a custom grip. In that case it is necessary to send the grip and the customization of the grip will result in a price increase.
OPTIONAL THREADED BUSHINGS Traditional bows are, for aesthetic reasons, made without any threaded bushing. These can however be useful according to specific customer requirements (for instance, the holes on the back of the window can be used for quivers and the central hole for the stabilizer can be used for a fishing reel). If you prefer the bushing needed to apply accessories to your bow, please specify it. An extra fee applies to all bushings.
RISER ORNAMENTS The accent stripes in the bow riser, are always made of three different layers regardless of the bow model, and can be customized using different colors at customer’s choice. You can choose among the following colors: Black, White, Red, Yellow, Light green, Dark green. Only for take down bows the ornament is on the front, back and in the area of the limb bolts. For the other bows it is only on the front. For these ornament, the customer can choose from the following woods: Wenge, Padouk, Doussie, Walnut, Maple, Evaporated maple , Pear wood, Bubinga, Cherry wood, Zebrawood. In addition to the above you can have riser ornaments both on the front and on the back (only for the Take Down) in briar root or ebony amara, while for the back part only, it is also possible to make it with horn.
LIMB ORNAMENTS Only on Take Down bows, it is possible to customize further the area below the limb bolts with briar root or horn ornaments.
