Tackling Sibling Rivalry WE ASKED PARENTS ON FACEBOOK HOW THEY HANDLE KIDS WHO FIGHT ALL THE TIME: “When my two girls were little, I came up with ‘Kid of the Day’ and every other day it would be their turn. Kid of the day would get first pick if there was a choice to be made, etc., but then they also had an extra chore or two to help me that day. It worked beautifully and ended the majority of the arguments. We had a calendar they could see that had their first initial in their days so nobody forgot.” Marni Bloye Vaughen

“We have done a get along shirt. We’ve always made them hold hands while eating dinner. I don’t have the answer, though. I’m not sure anyone does. There are tricks that last a little bit, but sibling rivalry is real, huge and hard. Good luck is all I know to say.” Samantha Downing

“Remove all electronics, hand them each a pair of post-hole diggers and tell them to get after it.” Alicia Oliver

DAYBYDAY Don’t Compare Your Kids

I

have made the mistake many times, so it’s safe to say I’m a slow learner. But woe to you if you say to one of your kids something like, “Why can’t you be more like so-and-so? He always gets himself up for school on time!” I mean the instant this sort of thing flies out of your mouth, you know it’s wrong. There’s this weird internal alarm that goes off. And it should. Why on earth do we compare our kids or ourselves to anyone else? Because we can. We look and see what each other is wearing. We eye someone else’s landscaping and wish it were our own. This “grass is always greener” mentality is a losing endeavor, though. It will not make YOU happy and it certainly won’t help your child. When you tell your boy he doesn’t measure up the way another kid does, you sow self-doubt into him. If you do this sort of thing on a regular basis, he will slowly but surely become insecure. And do you really want to root rivalry in your child? I certainly did not, but I did so by mistake. My two youngest are five years apart, and they compete with each other for everything. Sometimes it gets bitter. And I have heard my other kids accuse me of pampering one while being hard on the other. That’s why I say woe to you if you do it. The very essence of the mom/kid relationship is thrown into jeopardy when you pit one child against another. Don’t do it, don’t do it, don’t do it. Parenting is a hard job. It’s a daily grind of maintenance and assorted dramas. Yes, there will be times when you think, “Oh, he’s my sweet one,” or “he’s my stubborn one,” or “he’s my gogetter, I wish they could all be more like that,” but careful. Don’t say it outloud. It doesn’t help you and it doesn’t help your child. Unless you’re bent on turning your kids into jittery, nervous adults, hold your tongue. You are your child’s first teacher. You’re the one he looks up to and needs a pick-me-up from when things aren’t going right. Be kind. Be gentle. Love hard. And don’t compare your child anymore than you want to be compared to someone else. Raise individuals who are 100 percent perfect just the way they are. Individuals like YOU.

Corded Blinds Banned!

PARENT POLL:

We asked parents what they think about the banning of corded blinds across America.

“I think often these accidents happen at places that are not the child’s home — grandparent’s house, etc. The reason this has been made a law is all of the parents whose children have died this way have pushed for it so that others never have to experience this.” — Jamie Rideout YOUR POSTS: “Oh, cheese and crackers. Trim the cords when you buy them and when the blinds are pulled up, loop the cord into the hook to keep your kids from reaching them. Teach them to not touch them and pop their hands when they do.” Alicia Oliver

“I agree about telling kids no. However, there are times when they manage to do their worst when you turn an eye. I would have been interested in cordless blinds when my kids were younger rather than trying to tuck the cord up and always making a knot of it. However, why

should someone like my sister, who has no interest in having children, doesn’t babysit, etc., be limited to only the cordless and more expensive option?” Kelly Altgilbers

“They already took them out of Lowes. We bought blinds in July and were surprised only to find the corded ones. Went back a few weeks ago to buy more and only cordless were available.” Shannon Bryan

“Finally. Y’all, Europe has these amazing blinds. They are heavy plastic, come down OUTSIDE the window, and roll up into an inconspicuous box right above the window. And they make any room absolutely pitch black if you close them all the way. I believe they’re called Persian blinds ... I’ve been wondering when the U.S. would catch up on window technology.”

“There are a lot of reasons a kid may not understand being told ‘no’ that go beyond ‘bad parenting,’ but even if that’s the case I’m not sure death is really warranted. It’s an easy thing to enact. Why not do it?”

MIND &BODY BY KIERA ASHFORD

Getting enough sleep while nursing an infant is tough. And then there’s

breastsleeping. “I

think he’s done nursing,” says my husband, gently waking me. My baby and I had a hard time breastfeeding. Worn out, I attempted the full-body horizontal position. I was amazed at how comfortable it was, how willingly he nursed, and ... how easily I fell asleep. Sleeping and nursing was not my intention, but it happened. Little did I know that I was breastsleeping. And, with the term going mainstream, it’s definitely time for all of us to learn more.

BREASTSLEEPING DEFINED Breastfeeding while both Baby and Mom sleep close together in a safe sleep environment is called breastsleeping. “It allows the mother to more easily breastfeed with less disruption of sleep for mother and baby,” says Deanna Bell, M.D., a pediatric hospitalist at The Children’s Hospital at TriStar Centennial and president of the Tennessee Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). “Mothers all over the world practice breastsleeping, especially in areas where breastfeeding rates are very high,” says Kimberly Hampton, a certified lactation consultant, with Middle Tennessee Lactation. Hampton attributes James J. McKenna, Ph.D., as the world’s leading authority on mother-infant co-sleeping in relationship to breastfeeding and SIDS. McKenna famously said, “Only in a relatively few select cultures (Western, industrialized societies) have infants ever slept outside the company and

14 january 2019

presence of their breastfeeding mothers.” Many describe breastsleeping as a positive, relaxing experience. “When a mother can simply latch her baby and doze without getting up and moving around, it’s natural for her to feel more rested — even if her baby nurses several times throughout the night,” says Hampton. As for how long to breastsleep each night, that depends upon you. Follow Baby’s lead when it comes to night feedings. Most breastfed newborns need to nurse during the night for several months. “The first year of life is a time of rapid growth and development, which means babies often nurse around the clock,” Hampton says. Breast milk also produces sleep-inducing hormones to help babies nod off, and nighttime breastfeeding is a great milk production booster. A word of caution, though from Bell: “Available research on infant mortality endorses that mothers should not breastsleep with their infants at all.”

RISKS INVOLVED You’re bound to breastfeed your baby at times when you’re overworked and tired, but be cautious on how you go about it. Factor in the risks associated co-sleeping beforehand. Bell says it’s not a safe alternative to just getting up and down throughout the night to nurse your child. “Drowsy parents co-bedding with infants has been shown in study after study to be a

nashvilleparent.com

dangerous combination,” says Bell. “However, sharing a bedroom with separate sleeping space has been shown to decrease the incidence of SIDS,” she adds. The dangers of breastsleeping and co-sleeping are the same — parents can cut off Baby’s air supply by using pillows and blankets or even by accidentally rolling onto the baby. Both breastsleeping and co-sleeping are associated with an increased risk of SIDS and infant death, Bell says. “More than half of all sleep-related deaths in Tennessee in 2016 occurred in co-sleeping arrangements,” she warns. Furthermore, Bell says more than 3,500 infants in the U.S. die in co-sleeping arrangements each year, which is also responsible for about 13 percent of deaths of infants younger than 1 from all causes. “Often, mothers who avoid sleeping near their babies inevitably end up asleep with them on unsafe surfaces such as chairs or couches,” says Hampton. In addition, Hampton believes that all new mothers should be taught safe sleep practices and how to nurse while lying down. The AAP says to move Baby to his separate sleeping space after feeding — preferably a crib or bassinet in your bedroom. And, if you feel drowsy and think you may fall asleep while feeding Baby, then feed him on your bed, rather than that big comfy chair or cushy sofa. Kiera Ashford is associate editor for this publication and mom of three ages 2, 8 and 12.

Embrace Self-Care

etween the day-in, day-out requirements of running a family (not to mention the emotional toll) your world is filled with stress. In fact, according to a 2016 study published in The Journal of Brain & Behavior, women are extremely vulnerable to suffering from anxiety because of all the stress. This year, do yourself a favor and embrace self-

16 january 2019

care. “The basics of adequate sleep, healthy diet and exercise are a good place to start,” says author Tracey Cleantis in the book, An Invitation to Self-Care (Hazelden; 2017). Make daily efforts to identify stressors and to mindfully disconnect from them. Apps like “Sanity & Self” can help, but you can also try the following ideas to get you through the ups and downs of any given day.

nashvilleparent.com

NO STRESS!

Stress: Mistakes to Avoid Try not to let stress get the best of you. Avoid the following, says author Henry Emmons in his book, The Chemistry of Calm (Touchstone; 2010): Obsessing over it ... Not taking any time off for yourself ... Giving in to unhealthy cravings that leave you feeling lousy afterward ... Venting over and over again ... Skimping on sleep ... Soaking up the bad news in the media cycle ... Isolating yourself from people ... Becoming a couch potato (you need to move to release stress hormones).

QUICK & EASY WAYS to COPE

L

BY SUSAN DAY ike that annoying, relentless PAC-MAN on a gaming screen, stress will eat you up before you have a chance to escape. Because stress happens fast (thanks to kid maintenance, schedules, bad drivers, bills!), you need fast stress-relief strategies, says Melanie Greenberg, author of The Stress-Proof Brain (New Harbinger; 2017). Luckily, Greenberg shares simple, and quick ways to de-stress.

Recognize Stress Greenberg says when stress happens your “amygdala” hijacks your brain into a state of readiness for fighting or fleeing — the fight-or-flight response. When you start going into fight-orflight, your breathing gets more shallow, your heartbeat quickens and your muscles tense. This response is rapid and is caused by surges of adrenalin and cortisol coursing through your body. If you practice watching for the first signs of stress (like your shoulders tensing), you can catch the response early in the process, before your brain is completely hijacked.

How Best to Respond: 1) BREATHE Slow, rhythmic breathing activates the vagus nerve, Greenberg says. This is a large nerve that travels throughout your body, linking your brain with your heart, lungs, gut and other major organs. To practice slow, rhythmic breathing, breathe in for a count of five, rest for a count of two, then breathe out through either your nose or mouth for a count of six. If this is too difficult, begin with a 4-2-4 rhythm and work up to the 5-2-6.

2. DESCRIBE THREE THINGS YOU SEE

3. LOOK AT AN IMAGE OF NATURE Looking at nature scenes can speed your heart’s recovery from stress, Greenberg says. In one recent study, students were stressed by having to take a math test and receiving poor feedback. Researchers formed them into two groups: one group looked at pictures of empty pathways and trees. The other looked at urban scenes with cars and people. Guess which group recovered more quickly?

4. CALL IT “EXCITEMENT” INSTEAD Greenberg says in one study related to anxiety, those who reinterpreted their anxious feelings as excitement did better on tasks and felt more positive feelings about the tasks than those who claimed they were stressed.

5. STAND UP. Standing upright actually decreases stress hormones, Greenberg attests. A recent study in the journal Health Psychology found that people who slouch while performing high-pressure tasks have more negative thoughts and feelings than those who sit upright. Other studies show that standing with an upright posture increases testosterone and decreases levels of the stress hormone cortisol. This seems to cause people to feel less anxious and more assertive and confident.

6. WORK THOSE FISTS Clenching your right hand activates the left side of the brain, which is more verbal and logical. The right brain is more emotional. So, if you feel flooded by fear and anxiety (a right brain function), activating your left brain can prime you to think through the situation in a logical way instead.

Describe three things you see around you in terms of size, shape, texture and color. This exercise can be done indoors or out. It brings your attention back to the present moment.

Winter

Bucket List for Kids COMPILED BY SUSAN DAY

The Farmers’ Almanac and the Old Farmers’ Almanac both say mild-to-normal temperatures are expected for Tennessee this winter. Uh-huh. Same old, same old. But it all goes out the window with the promise of a snow day! The kids get excited,

moms and dad run to Kroger and we wait and hope ... only to get teased by snowfall that never comes. But one day it does! Be ready for fun activities with your kids when the “event” finally happens — or even if it doesn’t. We’ve got you covered.

BUNDLE UP & TAKE A WALK: When it DOES snow, make time to take your little one out. Guide him carefully along snowy paths — this is so interesting for him and you can add to it with your “oohs” and “aahs” and playfulness.

26

26 january 2019

nashvilleparent.com

Make Your Own Snow! Create a Snow Scene Tape a large square of clear contact paper to a window or interior side of a glass door. Peel away the piece to reveal sticky side. Supervise as you let your child use cotton balls to and Q-tips to make a snowy scene. You can also supervise making a snowman this way!

Make Snow Paint You’ll need: Shaving cream White school glue Iridescent glitter Store the glue in the fridge overnight for paint the next morning. Let it sit out in room temperature for 10 - 15 minutes before you start to get it flowing. Mix equal parts chilled glue and shaving cream in a bowl. Sprinkle in glitter. Paint icy-cold art on construction paper. Optional: add a drop of peppermint extract to the mixture for a festive scent.

Go Saucering!

Homemade Snow

Have carpeting? Pull your little one around on a snow saucer. He’ll love it! Talk about how you can do this outside when (and if) snow comes — it WILL happen one day and he WILL be ready for saucering.

2 cups frozen baking soda Up to 1 cup cold water (added slowly) White vinegar Squirt bottles

Make Snow Cream

You’ll need:

Pour 2 cups frozen baking soda into large bowl or container. Slowly add cold water and mix SLOWLY, adding more water and mixing until the consistency you want is reached. It makes a super-soft snow you can mold. Use the squirt bottles of vinegar to spray on the snow and watch it magically erupt!

You’ll need: 8 cups of snow 1-14 oz. can of sweetened condensed milk Few drops of vanilla extract for flavoring Sprinkles Scoop up fresh snow and bring it indoors. Slowly pour the condensed milk over the snow and stir. That’s it! Decorate as you like with the sprinkles.

Indoor Snow Play It can get mighty cold outside in the snow, so for warm snow play, fill up a plastic tub and bring it inside! Add scoopers for simple exploration. Fill spray bottles with colored water so kids can “paint” the snow. You can also use brushes to paint.

BUILD AN UNBREAKABLE BOND WITH YOUR KIDS!

on’t kid yourself into thinking that just BEING with your child is KNOWING your child. Since the connectivity you have — or not — with your kids means EVERYTHING, it’s time to start developing it. It’s easy to bond with a baby, but once she’s bigger and sassier, it’s harder to keep that feeling going. Yet it’s the most important facet of childhood.

Yes, life is busy. In the blink of an eye your little one will be grown. Don’t let this precious relationship slip through your fingers. Take the time to get to know her on a deep level and to honor her unique qualities. The good news is, you’re reading this and you want a more meaningful relationship. KNOW THY CHILD

COMMUNICATION BY LARA KRUPICKA

T

hink about it. The secret to creating a close connection with each of your children is in your taking time to develop the relationship. Making your child your highest priority means paying attention to what happens between you, seeing things from his point of view and remembering always that although he may now be big and tall, he was once that precious baby you welcomed into your arms each day. Being close to another human being takes work, says Laura Markham, Ph.D., author of Peaceful Parent, Happy Kids

(TarcherPerigee; 2012). The closeness of the parent-child connection throughout life results from how much you connect with your baby from the beginning, Markham says. Research shows that fathers who take a week or more off from work when their babies are born have a closer relationship with their child at every stage, including the teen and college years. But good parent-child connections don’t just spring out of nowhere. Luckily, we are biologically programmed to love our babies and for them to love us. But almost all parents whose

Know Thy Child children are grown say they wish they had spent more time with their kids. So, let’s get started.

EARLY CONVERSATIONS

The house is quiet. Baths are done, teeth are brushed and your child is settling under the covers. You perch beside him on his bed and wonder how you can extend this moment. The answer: pose a mellow question to ponder together.

While not every night may be so leisurely, bedtime tuck-in starting when your child is very young can often be the perfect setting for engaging him in thoughtful conversation. The comfort and security of the bedtime routine allows kids to open up and share from the heart. Use this special time with your child to explore dreams, aspirations and bucket-list goals together.

Try mulling over one of these questions before you kiss him good night:

If you had a whole day free to do whatever you want, what would you choose to do?

Who is your hero? Name one person you would like to be like. Can you tell me why you chose that person? What do you look forward to being able to do when you get a little older?

THREE SIMPLE BASICS OF GOOD CONVERSATIONS TO ROLE PLAY 1) Asking Questions Teach your child to use “w” words like “who,” “what,” “where,” “when” and “why.” Let him know that follow-up questions can show people he is talking to that he is interested in what they are saying. 2) Telling Stories Teach your child to tell stories — and tell stories yourself so that he learns (the best way). For example, tell a story about the recent trip you took to the zoo together or another fun event. Take your time, and be watchful of his tendency to tell stories that are too long. 3) Making Comments Making comments during conversation means you’re listening and responding — as long as you’re not interrupting or being rude. Demonstrate for your child how a comment made at the wrong time in conversation can sound like you’re not interested or make it appear as though he’s not listening. TIP: Always give praise and positive feedback for effort. It’s best when role playing with your child to immediately give praise about what he did well. Look hard to find any small, yet noticeable sign of conversation improvement.

Where would you most like to go on vacation? What would you want to do there? See there? What is something you would like to learn to do or spend time getting better at? Who would you most like to spend a day with, just you and him or her? What do people most look up to you for? Or what do you hope one day people will admire about you? Go ahead and tell your child your answers to the same questions, as time allows. Adding this exercise to his bedtime routine from time to time will take your parent-child bonding to a new level. Plus, you’ll have a whole new group of ideas for activities to pursue together.

DEEPER CONVERSATIONS

It’s not just at bedtime when you can pursue your relationship with your child — there are ample opportunities all day long to help you tighten your relationship. One way is to teach him HOW to become a conversationalist. There are three simple basics (see sidebar) to making

that happen, says Kerry Mehaffey Mataya, co-author of Talk With Me: A Step-By-Step Conversation Framework for Teaching Conversational Balance and Fluency (AAPC; 2017). Take your time as you ease him into understanding the value of communication. It will serve you both well in life!

The key to good conversations with kids is to teach them what makes a good conversationalist. Talk it up using the above tools — no matter where you are or what you’re doing!

F

orgo guilt over NOT having family dinners together every single night of the week. Today’s kids are much too active for sit downs every night. The main thing is — for the best relationship possible with your child — you need to work at finding moments to connect.

1. Breakfast You’re on the go and don’t have time, but just set up a cereal bar with the kids or search for overnight slow cooker recipes that require minimal effort on busy mornings. 2. Dessert Even if you find yourself reheating dinner when Dad gets home late, make an effort to get everyone together before bedtime. Serve everyone’s favorite ice cream, then gather around the table and take turns talking about the day.

5. Family Meetings When held regularly, family pow wows have the power to resolve conflicts, build family unity and foster a sense of autonomy by engaging children of all ages in the family’s decision-making process. Plan for all members of the family to meet at least twice a month to share accomplishments, discuss upcoming plans and brainstorm solutions to problems or concerns within the family. 6. Family Outings Take a break from the ordinary. A weekend getaway or a week at the beach, relaxing with your kids and making happy memories is a sort of salvation in between the busyness. 7. A Family Journal When you keep a family journal, every person in the family gets space to write notes for other family members to read at their convenience. Purchase a basic notebook and encourage everyone to

share and read at regular intervals. Work out how the journal rotates. 8. Family FaceTime FaceTime and Skype are great for parents who travel or who don’t live in the same home as the kids. Embrace these tools for better connectivity. 9. One-on-One Time Children love your undivided attention. Make a point to carve out a few moments of one-on-one time every day and consider date nights with kids. 10. Family Dinner Add at least one family dinner to your calendar and honor the commitment. You may never manage to eat together every evening, but DO aim to keep the spirit of family dinner alive — and reap its many benefits — by finding multiple ways to build strong and loving connections with your kids. Alyssa Chirco is a mom and freelance writer.

3. Family Car Realize that driving kids all over the place to activities and appointments is a golden opportunity for conversation. Turn off the smartphones and jump start conversations. Remember to use the basics of good conversations. 4. Game Night You’ll be amazed at how loose and fun everyone can be while playing a game. Pull out a classic like Apples to Apples and start playing. The side conversations that occur will delight and stimulate everyone.

One-on-one time with your child is as easy at 15 minutes a day. Plop yourself down on her bed. Just hang out. Don’t have an agenda, just want to BE with your child.

SMARTER KIDS

STEM

A DOZEN ACTIVITIES FOR KIDS OF ALL AGES

Kids don’t need to be math or science whizzes to explore STEM at home. Take up these fun ideas to engage their brains and imaginations.

H BY LISA BEACH

ey, parents: you can help plant “STEM seeds” early in your kids at home. Unlike any generation before them, your kids are growing up surrounded by technology. That’s great news when it comes to future career opportunities! (please turn the page)

STEM for Kids According to a study called “STEM Occupations: Past, Present and Future from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics,” there were nearly 8.6 million STEM jobs in May 2015, and seven out of the 10 largest STEM occupations were computer related. With the big push for science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education in schools these days, you might wonder what you can do at home to boost your kids’ sense of curiosity, problemsolving and STEM skills. Plenty, even with younger kids! The good news? You don’t need to be a math whiz or science buff to explore STEM topics with your kids. Try these ideas with the kids of all ages in your family: • Build STEM language from a young age. Even with little ones, you can encourage them to notice their surroundings, ask questions and pay attention to details. Observation is a critical science skill, so challenge your child to think about what she’s doing or seeing in the world around her. • Watch fun science videos together on YouTube. Standouts include NatGeo Kids and Bayer’s Making Science Make Sense videos. In Bayer’s kid-friendly films, for instance, kids get the low-down on intriguing topics such as What Makes a Curveball Curve?; Why Do Ice Cubes Float?; When Do Fish Sleep?; What is a Shooting Star?; and How Does a Microwave Work?

• Encourage participation in STEM clubs. In younger grades, you might find a LEGO Builder’s Club at school or in the community. In some middle schools and many high schools, your child might be able to join an afterschool coding, web development, engineering or robotics club. • Challenge kids to teach themselves. Many online opportunities exist to help kids boost technology skills. There’s code.org and tynker.com. Kids can create games and animations at scratch.mit.edu. Kids can build websites using WordPress and upload photos and videos. They can also use the open-source MIT App Inventor to create software applications. • Read with your kids. Let books open your kids’ eyes to new ideas and fresh perspectives and introduce them to unsung heroes/heroines and unfamiliar places. • Bring science to life with hands-on family fun trips. Visit a planetarium, arboretum, zoo, factory, science museum, nature trail or observatory. Explore STEM concepts though hands-on exhibits, demonstrations and interactive experiences. In nature, bring along a notebook to record observations or sketch pictures. • Encourage your child’s interests. Does your child enjoy building model rockets or playing with gears? Buy a science kit

for his next birthday. Does he love to cook? Dig into the chemistry of cooking by researching culinary-science questions, like why apples turn brown once they’re cut. • Participate in school STEM events. Your child’s school may hold family math night, science fairs or tech nights. Make it a point to go together and ask questions to help connect him with STEM concepts. • Create a “maker box.” Stock your home with supplies that encourage creativity, building and invention. Some ideas: small cardboard boxes and tubes, Play-Doh, PVC plastic pipes and connectors, LEGOs, string, wooden building blocks, duct tape, Lincoln Logs, pipe cleaners, etc. • Assign tech roles. If your child has a knack for technology, ask him to help you figure out your smartphone or show you how to download photos to your laptop. Dub him your family’s tech guru to instill confidence! • Plan to plant a garden. Start indoors with containers. Kids can measure the planting depth of seeds, chart the growth of a plant and predict which plants will yield the most produce. Talk about the life cycle of a plant, discuss photosynthesis and identify parts of a plant from seed to stem. Lisa Beach is a freelance journalist and copywriter. Rev up for the thrill of monster trucks when they take over Bridgestone Arena.

T

he loud roar of the engines and the excitement of monster trucks make for this favorite outings with kids. Youngsters love Monster Jam when it comes to Nashville twice a year. While summer finds it outdoors at Nissan Stadium, January brings it inside at Bridgestone Arena. The action-packed event features racing events and freestyle competitions. Crowd-favorite trucks include Zombie (pictured above), Grave Digger, Monster Mutt, El Toro Loco and others. In addition to the big trucks, the in-

door version of Monster Jam includes ATVs and speedsters. It’s a lot of highenergy excitement, and what adds to the fun factor is the fact that the audience serves as judges. Be sure to bring your smartphone to score each vehicle’s maneuvers (instructions provided at the event). Arrive early enough and your kids might get to meet drivers during their pre-show interviews. Bridgestone Arena is located at 501 Broadway, Nashville. Monster Jam showtimes are Sat at 1 and 7 p.m., Sun at 2 p.m. Tickets are $22 - $80. Call 615-770-2000 or visit bridgestonearena.com.
