Exhibit 08: Rural Greenway
Specific trail types are proposed according to the surrounding environment, level of use, and proximity to the built environment. The rural greenway trail type represents a trail that may experience moderate to heavy use, be located in a rural setting, and constructed within the NCDOT right-of-way.

Section 2
PROPOSED TRAILS
The preferred trail route in section 2 extends approximately 10 miles from the Fisher River to the Candiff Creek crossing on River Siloam Road. From the Fisher River crossing the trail follows the river south before intersecting with the alternate route from section one and turning northeast to follow Davenport Creek to Buck Fork Road. The trail continues east as a rural greenway parallel to Buck Fork and Rockford Roads passing by Rayson Winery and Vineyards. The preferred trail route turns north on Robert Burrus Road and continues to an unnamed tributary of West Double Creek. A spur trail will extend south along Rockford Road and approach the Historic Town of Rockford from the north and west where it will end at the Historic Rockford Courthouse Park. A natural surface trail will follow the tributary and West Double Creek overland to its confluence with East Double Creek near the Yadkin River. The primary route continues east, parallel to the railroad and Yadkin River before turning north just east of Cottonwood Lane. The natural surface trail continues across River Siloam Road until it meets Candiff Creek. From here, the trail winds east along Candiff Creek until it flows underneath River Siloam Road.
