ecientemente entregado a la superestrella del tenis Rafael Nadal, el 80 Sunreef Power Great White ha estado haciendo olas en la industria desde principios de junio. Hoy, Sunreef Yachts revela con orgullo las imágenes del propietario a bordo de su lujoso yate de lujo de 80 pies. Un navegante experimentado, Rafael Nadal ha sido un apasionado de la vela desde la infancia y aprovecha todas las oportunidades para salir al mar con amigos y familiares. La idea de construir un catamarán personalizado ha sido parte de los planes del atleta superestrella por un tiempo. Seducido por el diseño y el espacio habitable del yate, se unió a la familia de propietarios de Sunreef Yachts y recibió Great White el mes pasado. El 80 Sunreef Power Great White tiene capacidad para hasta 8 invitados gracias a su cómodo diseño de 4 cabinas. ecently delivered to tennis superstar Rafael Nadal the 80 Sunreef Power Great White has been making waves in the industry since early June. Today, Sunreef Yachts proudly reveals the pictures of the Owner on board his 80foot luxury motoryacht. An experienced boater, Rafael Nadal has been passionate about yachting since childhood and seizes every opportunity to go out into sea with friends and family. The idea to build a customized catamaran has been part of the superstar athlete’s plans for a while. Seduced by both the yacht’s design and living space, he joined Sunreef Yachts’ family of owners, taking delivery of Great White last month. The 80 Sunreef Power Great White accommodates up to 8 guests thanks to her comfortable 4-cabin layout. Her starboard hull houses the Owner’s suite, one of the yacht’s guest cabins and the crew quarters. With generous living space, the master stateroom features a walk-in dressing, a sofa, a flip-down ceiling TV above the double bed and a private fold-out balcony. The port hull accommodates for two more roomy guest cabins as well as the catamaran’s galley.
Great White’s light-filled saloon offers two oversized lounging sofas by the aft cockpit, a dining space for 8 to the bow and two 77’’ TV’s installed back-to-back. An additional lounging spot was set up next to the bow terrace entrance. The catamaran’s full-beam stern cockpit provides for an outstanding alfresco dining space well protected from sun and wind and fitted with a weatherproof TV. Below the large sofa, Great White’s aft garage conceals a large jet-ski and a selection of water toys along with a refueling station. A wide hydraulic swim platform has been installed to carry the yacht’s tender and offer an extra sunbathing spot beside the water. The flybridge provides guests with an exterior lounge arranged in cozy seating areas, a bar, big sunpads and a popup TV.

Hablemos de cine

E
sta cuarentena ha servido para que se vea muchísimo cine en casa. Unas parejas de amigos míos han estado viendo una película diaria, lo que nos indica que han visto más de cien filmes esta temporada, seguramente muchas personas más apasionadas ven varias por día, en fin, que el cine, al menos en casa por lo pronto está más vivo que nunca, por lo tanto; hablemos de cine. Tengo una caja muy bonita de cinco CD. Son las tres películas de la saga El Padrino y un documental Atrás de Cámaras sobre Coppola y el rodaje de las mismas. Debo confesar que se encontraba cerrada, esperando el momento adecuado para zambullirme en el sórdido pero excitante y magnético mundo de los mafiosos. Fue a petición de mi hijo de quince años, quien abrió la caja y vio la primera de la serie, que regreso a esta magnífica trilogía. Pero hay algo que me ha intrigado desde hace años, y es que en casi todas las encuestas que veo por ahí con el título “Las diez mejores películas de todos los tiempos”, invariablemente aparece El Padrino en ella, y, con frecuencia ocupando el primer lugar. Siempre que vemos una lista de este tipo tendemos a inconformarnos porque faltan algunas de nuestras favoritas y sobran otras que consideramos insustanciales. Tanto he visto la mencionada película en esas encuestas que necesito preguntarme si yo la tendría en la lista de mis diez filmes imprescindibles. Y la respuesta principia por revisar mentalmente los que han dejado una huella imborrable en mis recuerdos. Resulta que, si empiezo por el Sétimo Sello, que siempre es una de mis predilectas, me lleva inmediatamente a Un Verano con Mónica y ésta, a Gritos y Susurros y a Fanny y Alexander. Cuando me doy cuenta, únicamente de Bergman ya tengo más de veinte películas metidas en la bolsa para luchar ante cualquiera por un sitio de honor. Sigo con Los Olvidados, Viridiana, Belle de Jour, Ese Obscuro Objeto del Deseo...y noto que Buñuel también se abre paso a codazos entre una multitud de genios. De Pasolini cuando menos Teorema, El Decamerón, Las Mil y Una Noches y Cuentos de Canterbury, pero… ¿Y Las Noches de Cabiria? En eso me viene a la mente Carlos Saura; Cría Cuervos, Ana y los Lobos, Carmen, El Amor Brujo, Bodas de Sangre. Los hermanos Taviani

De Herzog yo quisiera incluir Woyseck, Nosferatu, Fata Morgana, Aguire, la Ira de Dios, pero de ninguna manera acepto una lista en la que no esté incluido Fitzcarraldo. Faltan los franceses, que practican un cine fino y cerebral y por si fuera poco son los pioneros (la proyección de L’Arrivée d’un train en gare de La Ciotat en París en 1895, de Los Hermanos Lumieré, es el nacimiento oficial del cine y Le Voyage dans la Lune en 1902 de Georges Méliès, es la primera película de ciencia ficción). Renoir, Godard, Truffaut, más recientemente Kieslowski y su trilogía Azul, Blanco y Rojo. Y los ingleses, al menos el Hamlet de Laurence Olivier ¿Kurosawa? Supongo que alguna de John Houston se colaría por ahí, y Grifith, Fritz Lang, Einsenstein. Solaris, El Sacrificio, Andrei Rubleb, parece que Tarkovsky no se quiere quedar afuera, faltaba más. En fin, la lista crece desmesuradamente y no encuentro por ahí El Padrino, qué pasa, la he dejado fuera, definitivamente no estaría en mi lista de diez ¿de plano? Pero es que incluso del propio Coppola hay varias que me gustan más que las de Corleone, Cotton Club, Rumble Fish y sobretodo Apocalypse Now, prefiero la historia de Joseph Conrad en lo profundo de la selva, ahí si la comparación entre Conrad y Puzo sería vana, el polaco es una de las más grandes glorias de la literatura inglesa, cada párrafo de su prosa es un descubrimiento, cada descripción un deslumbramiento. Y yo sostengo que lo primero y más importante para contar una historia a través del cine es el texto, no digo que Mario Puzo no sea un buen escritor, al contrario, es buenísimo, pero como narrador

onrad está más allá, mucho más allá. Aunque en el libro ginal se trata del Congo y los traficantes de marfil y en adaptación para la película, ésta se desarrolla en la selva Vietnam, durante la guerra con EEUU, la profundidad de s personajes permanece intacta y conserva esa crisis que s retrata Conrad en El Corazón de la Tinieblas, entre los ndos abismos del alma humana y su elevada sublimación. ro no se me desanimen los fanáticos de la memorable ga, porque precisamente, si hago una lista de las mejores gas de la historia, con seguridad la pondría en ella y muy obablemente encabezando la misma. his quarantine has served to see a lot of home theater. A couple of friends of mine have been watching a movie every day, which indicates that they have seen more than a hundred films this season, surely many more passionate people watch several a day, anyway, than the cinema, at least at home for the time being he is more alive than ever, therefore; let’s talk about cinema. It turns out that if I start with the Seventh Seal, which is always one of my favorites, it immediately leads me to A Summer with Monica and this one, to Screams and Whispers and to Fanny and Alexander. When I realize it, only Bergman already has more than twenty films in the bag to fight anyone for a place of honor. aminaba por la rambla de Campos Elíseos hace algunos años. Recuerdo su anchura, llegaba hasta el horizonte de mi vista o hasta la extensión de mis brazos contemplando su belleza. El paisaje era avizorado por miles de transeúntes de todos los colores: sus ropas, sus voces, sus cabellos, su cultura, sus razas. Y el arco del Triunfo al fondo como remate de la plenitud arquitectónica épica de Francia; extendido sobre plaza Charles de Gaulle custodiada por un río de asfalto en cuyo torrente de árboles de grandes frondas verdes simulan ser sus soldados del tiempo, arrullados por los trinos de todas las aves expectantes ante el espectáculo multicolor de las olas de gente danzante. Es un ir y venir, de la batalla triunfante a la Plaza de la Concordia, como si mi recuerdo quisiera decirme algo más que su quimera. Hoy imagino esa tarde trasladándola hasta la terraza donde me encuentro tomando una taza de café y mirando mi álbum de fotos de aquel París que me dio la bienvenida con alegorías arquitectónicas firmes y soberanas del tiempo que las cobija para mostrarnos su inmortalidad. Y miro un Arco del Triunfo, expectante primero por verse abandonado sin explicación alguna, para luego, intuitivo, saber que ya nada será normal. Han colocado en sus accesos aditamentos donde presiente que no volverá a colmarse de voces y de colores. Los Campos Elíseos, le platican que ellos sienten lo mismo, un abandono que no era normal y, de pronto, pasa el tiempo, los días, las noches, las semanas y se descubren sin colores, sin ruido, sin la algarabía copiosa de niños, adultos y ancianos disfrutando
su inmensidad legendaria. Plaza de la Concordia por primera vez siente que ha perdido sentido su vida, se siente desfallecida, “a quiénes darán armonía los acordes de mis fuentes, se han convertido en llantos, pero pronto serán de alegría de los regresos de todos ellos, estoy segura” le dice afligida. Quizá sea su plática recurrente, lo imagino cuando miro mis fotografías. Arquitectura normalizada, ¿cómo serás ahora?, ¿qué nos ofrecerán tus espacios, hoy? Mantenernos alejados todos de todos en silencio, sin rostros, sin sonrisas. El espacio público muta su superficie multicolor, sus tonalidades se ralentizarán a cada dos metros de distancia cada quién, sin saludarse los amigos y sin besarse los novios en la capital del amor. Nuevas batallas colonizarán París que sabe que el triunfo será un hecho. Se escucharán de nuevo las palabras de Napoleón Bonaparte «Volveréis a casa bajo arcos triunfales». Volveremos triunfantes a nuestra casa sin techo de concreto, la inmensidad de tu refugio continuará abrazada por el azul de un cielo que testifica la existencia de una humanidad renacida.

was walking along the Rambla de Campos ElĂseos a few years ago. I remember its width, it reached as far as the horizon of my view or the extent of my arms contemplating its beauty. The landscape was watched by thousands of passers-by of all colors: their clothes, their voices, their hair, their culture, their races. And the Arc de Triomphe in the background as a finishing touch to the epic architectural fullness of France; spread over Charles de Gaulle square guarded by a river of asphalt in whose torrent of trees with large green fronds they pretend to be its soldiers of time, lulled by the trills of all the expectant birds before the multicolored spectacle of the waves of dancing people. It is a come and go, from the triumphant battle to the Place de la Concorde, as if my memory wanted to tell me something more than its chimera. Today I imagine that afternoon moving her to the terrace where I find myself having a cup of coffee and looking at my photo album of that Paris that welcomed me with firm and sovereign architectural allegories of the time that shelters them to show us their immortality. as palabras más utilizadas en los últimos meses Corona Virus, Covid19, Cuarentena, Comida, Chela, Sexo. Mañanera. En los meses pasados relacione el arte y la música con la comida y hoy término la trilogía con el sexo y la comida. Seguramente entre mis lectores algunos habrán experimentado muchos o casi todos los alimentos supuestamente afrodisiacos, pero me permití ampliar un poco la información. Alimentos afrodisíacos: entre imágenes y leyendas. Con el tiempo, se han transmitido ciertas creencias, aún hoy muy difundidas, de que algunos alimentos son afrodisíacos y, además de estimular el deseo, ayudan al rendimiento al mantener una erección durante mucho tiempo. No hay alimentos afrodisíacos, crestas de gallo, plátanos, “la única fruta del amor”, u otras verduras fálicas. La selva se impone señorial y mágica. Conforme avanza la noche, el cielo se cubre de nubarrones, el viento arrecia, y la lluvia cae con intensidad. Se ha desatado la tormenta. Un árbol añoso se cimbra sobre su peso y las raíces viejas y debilitadas que lo fijan y lo nutren. La tierra húmeda no lo puede sostener más y las ráfagas terminan por derribarlo estruendosamente. Arrastra consigo y aplasta a lianas, hierbas, arbustos y árboles. El tronco habrá de morir y ser reabsorbido por el suelo gracias a la acción microscópica de bacterias, hongos e insectos. Cuando amanezca, el claro dejado por el follaje caído permitirá que la luz solar penetre hasta el piso dando lugar al nacimiento de nuevas plantas y la regeneración de la selva como ha ocurrido durante miles de años. El amanecer se pinta en el horizonte. La tormenta ha cesado. La caminata nos ha llevado a los límites selváticos. Fronteras artificiales creadas por el ser humano. La carretera permite el flujo incesante de vehículos, mortales para muchos animales. A la distancia se percibe la luz y la bruma tóxica de una ciudad. Maquinaria pesada y ruidosa saca de raíz árboles milenarios para permitir la construcción de un
centro comercial. No imp al interior terrestre. Da carbono que construyó t destruye el clima. No se la magia. arkness is relative thanks to the moonlight filtering through the foliage. The sound of crickets and cicadas make the jungle feel like a great organism whispering. The heat and humidity are dense after a passing rain that soaked everything. Drops of water that fell on the ground and infiltrated into water layers deep in the ground. In the distance you can hear the scraping of the earth by an armadillo looking for insects and roots to feed. The owl’s singing stopped; a sign that he made one of his imperceptible flights to catch an unsuspecting mouse. The bats flit among the open corridors of vegetation guided by a magical echo that they emit themselves. The jaguar has just abandoned the few remains of a hunted ocellated turkey with its claws and jaws moments before. The walk through the leaf litter is difficult in the dark, but fascinating. One knows that the jungle is breathing through each of its almost infinite leaves. Unimaginable amounts of oxygen are released in a second, allowing us to live for all other living things for another day. In return, trees and plants have captured millions of tons of carbon dioxide. The walk stretches between the croaking of frogs, the sprouting of fungus among dead leaves, the light blowing wind and the mythical mysterious presence of aluxes and ancient Mayan deities. The jungle is majestic and magical. As the night progresses, the sky is covered with storm clouds, the wind is stronger, and the rain falls with intensity. The storm has broken out. An old tree is swayed on its weight and the old and weakened roots that fix it and nourish it. The damp earth can’t hold it anymore and the gusts end up knocking it down with a crash. avegamos con rumbo al sur, siempre al sur, motivado por la decisión final de nuestro grupo: bucear en el místico banco de coral conocido como El Chinchorro, El Gran Arrecife Maya. El Banco Chinchorro es un gran complejo arrecifal coralino, con una superficie de 144 mil 360 has. El área incluye formaciones arrecifales, una extensa laguna arrecifal, varios pequeños cayos y una gran superficie de aguas oceánicas. Este complejo coralino ha sido clasificado como un falso atolón, un arrecife de plataforma y más recientemente como un atolón. Se localiza en el estado de Quintana Roo, México a 100 Km al Norte de las Islas Turneffe y del arrecife Lighthouse, Belice. Por su ubicación, forma parte del Sistema Arrecifal Mesoamericano. Banco Chinchorro se encuentra en mar abierto, a 31 km del poblado costero Mahahual, que es el punto continental más cercano y está separado de la costa por un canal de mil metros de profundidad. Banco Chinchorro es una de las estructuras más grandes de su tipo en la gran cuenca del Caribe. Esta formación arrecifal tiene forma elíptica, cuyo eje longitudinal tiene 43 km y el eje transversal 18 km, en su parte más ancha.

En la laguna existen cuatro cayos que abarcan 582 has. En el extremo septentrional se encuentra Cayo Norte, integrado por dos cayos, que presentan vegetación arbórea y manglar. Cayo Centro, localizado hacia el núcleo del sistema, es el más grande con 541 has cubiertas por manglar, palmas y vegetación arbórea. El cuarto cayo, localizado en el extremo sur es Cayo Lobos, el más pequeño. En la Reserva de la Biosfera Banco Chinchorro se ha reportado la existencia de un total de 1,030 especies, de las cuales 58% corresponden a fauna marina, 14% a fauna terrestre, 18% a flora marina y el 10% a flora terrestre. El Chinchorro es una red caribeña y, tal como los peces quedan atrapados en sus filamentos, un sinnúmero de barcos, desde hace siglos, han sido derribados por los filosos arrecifes. Estábamos descendiendo entre el azul del mar, cuando de la nada hizo su aparición un robusto y solitario delfín, que nos observó durante unos segundos con curiosidad, e inmediatamente después se perdió en el azul tan rápidamente como salió. Un encuentro afortunado y buen inicio de buceada, pues cada día los encuentros con estos mamíferos marinos son más escasos y esporádicos. Pasamos los minutos gozando entre candelabros, esponjas, coral negro, caracoles y corales de varios tipos que dan refugio a los peces ángeles, jureles, mariposa, cofres, sardinas y muchas especies más, que entre todas le dieron un toque mágico al momento que pasamos sumergidos. Por desgracia, nuestras botellas con aire se terminaron, obligándonos a regresar a nuestro propio ecosistema.
Nos prepararnos para un segundo buceo. Sólo que está vez, decidimos explorar la zona conocida como los 40 cañones. Encontrar el área costó un poco de trabajo, pero definitivamente valió la pena, pues cuantas historias, anécdotas y secretos se esconden entre estos enormes artefactos hechos para la guerra, destrucción y muerte. Ahora se ven inofensivos, algunos cubiertos de corales y otros todavía desafiando al tiempo, mostrando orgullosos las bocas por las que una vez vomitaron fuego, y que ahora los peces aprovechan como moradas. Sabemos que los desafiantes cañones fueron, en su época, un certero augurio de naufragios y tragedias, pavor y muerte, y que en ellos podíamos encontrar los objetos custodiados por aquellas obsoletas armas mortíferas: monedas, escudos, anclas, y lo más deseado por muchos, un cofre lleno de oro y joyas. A diferencia de muchos buzos, nuestro grupo de amigos compartió un mismo pensamiento: el mayor tesoro que podemos encontrar es un entorno submarino sano, como lo demuestra el estado de los arrecifes cercanos a los cañones, en donde pudimos convivir de cerca con tortugas, vistosos peces ángeles, barracudas, muchos peces pequeños y de vistosos colores, enormes bancos de coral de varios tipos como los cerebros, castillo, candelabros y gigantescas esponjas en donde un buzo, con todo y equipo, puede entrar fácilmente. Pasando por cañadas de coral, encontramos un pequeño tiburón gata descansando en el fondo de arena. Los arrecifes cercanos a las calderas tienen una gran variedad de colores y formas, entre las que sobresalen los corales cuernos de venado, y los corales de galleta, que disputan su crecimiento con los abanicos y gorgóneas.
Después del recorrido por el barco, nos sumergimos hasta una profundidad de 90 pies para encontrarnos con un mero de gran tamaño, cangrejos ermitaños que caminaban tranquilamente entre esponjas de tubo amarillas, y con corales duros, que hacen de este buceo algo muy especial. En especial cuando observas las esponjas que son de un tamaño descomunal No cabe duda de que el Chinchorro es un arrecife mágico, que no deja de sorprendernos con lugares increíbles. Los delfines hicieron su aparición muy cerca del quebrado, para darnos la bienvenida, y nos alegraron el camino por un buen rato, mientras siguieron al barco y jugaron con su proa. El mar es, hasta ahora, uno de los últimos sitios en donde permanecen intactos muchos recuerdos desde hace siglos. Por las bellezas y especies que el banco encierra, el área fue decretada como Área Natural Protegida, con carácter de Reserva Biológica por el entonces presidente de México, Ernesto Zedillo, el 19 de Julio de 1996.

e sailed south, always south, motivated by the final decision of our group: to dive in the mystical coral bank known as El Chinchorro, El Gran Arrecife Maya. Banco Chinchorro is a large coral reef complex, with an area of 144 thousand 360 hectares. The area includes reef formations, an extensive reef lagoon, several small cays, and a large surface area of ocean water. This coral complex has been classified as a false atoll, a platform reef and more recently as an atoll. It is located in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico, 100 km north of the Turneffe Islands and the Lighthouse reef, Belize. Due to its location, it is part of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System. Banco Chinchorro is located in the open sea, 31 km from the coastal town Mahahual, which is the closest continental point and is separated from the coast by a channel 1,000 meters deep. Banco Chinchorro is one of the largest structures of its kind in the great basin of the Caribbean. This reef formation is elliptical in shape, the longitudinal axis of which is 43 km and the transverse axis 18 km, at its widest part.

In the lagoon there are four keys that cover 582 hectares. At the northern end is Cayo Norte, made up of two cays, which present tree and mangrove vegetation. Cayo Centro, located towards the core of the system, is the largest with 541 ha covered by mangrove, palms and tree vegetation. The fourth key, located in the extreme south, is Cayo Lobos, the smallest. A total of 1,030 species have been reported in the Banco Chinchorro Biosphere Reserve, of which 58% correspond to marine fauna, 14% to terrestrial fauna, 18% to marine flora and 10% to terrestrial flora. We spent the minutes enjoying among chandeliers, sponges, black coral, snails and corals of various types that shelter the angelfish, horse mackerel, butterfly, chests, sardines and many more species, which all gave a magical touch to the moment we passed submerged. Unfortunately, our air bottles ran out, forcing us to return to our own ecosystem. We prepare for a second dive. Only this time, we decided to explore the area known as the 40 canyons.
Finding the area took a bit of work, but it was definitely worth it, as so many stories, anecdotes, and secrets are hidden among these enormous artifacts made for war, destruction, and death. Now they look harmless, some covered in coral and others still defying time, proudly displaying the mouths from which they once vomited fire, and which the fish now take advantage of as dwellings.
We know that the challenging cannons were, in their time, a sure omen of shipwrecks and tragedies, dread and death, and that in them we could find the objects guarded by those obsolete deadly weapons: coins, shields, anchors, and the most desired by many , a chest full of gold and jewelry. Unlike many divers, our group of friends shared the same thought: the greatest treasure we can find is a healthy underwater environment, as evidenced by the state of the reefs near the canyons, where we were able to live closely with turtles, colorful angelfish, barracuda, many colorful small fish, huge shoals of coral of various kinds such as brains, castle, chandeliers and gigantic sponges where a diver, with everything and equipment, can easily enter. Passing through coral gorges, we found a small cat shark resting on the sandy bottom. The reefs near the calderas have a great variety of colors and shapes, among which the deer antler corals stand out, and the waffle corals, which dispute their growth with the fans and gorgonian.
After the tour of the boat, we dive to a depth of 90 feet to find a large grouper, hermit crabs walking calmly among yellow tube sponges, and with hard corals, which make this dive something very special. Especially when you look at sponges that are huge There is no doubt that Chinchorro is a magical reef, which never ceases to amaze us with incredible places. The dolphins made an appearance very close to the ravine, to welcome us, and they brightened our way for a long time, while they followed the boat and played with their bow. The sea is, until now, one of the last places where many memories remain intact for centuries. Due to the beauties and species that the bank contains, the area was declared a Protected Natural Area, with the character of a Biological Reserve by the then President of Mexico, Ernesto Zedillo, on July 19, 1996.

Los dioses del antiguo Quiché visten la capa verde para presidir la formación y el ordenamiento del universo, y en recuerdo de ese acto, sus sacerdotes también la visten en las grandes ocasiones equiparándose por ese ritual, con el refulgente Q’uq’ Kumatz.
