Welcome
Gala Theatre Online All of our shows are available to book online at www.galadurham.co.uk
While we try to present a vibrant programme of events all year round at Gala, it is the summer that brings one of the cornerstones of the cultural calendar to the venue. BRASS celebrates all things brass-related from the traditional bands of our region, to some unique international collaborations and participatory events. With the kind support of Arts Council England, we are able to present BRASS, our outstanding festival of world-class brass music in the heart of Durham. The festival draws visitors and artists from across the region, the country and abroad. Durham residents mix with visitors to the city for lively and enchanting cultural experiences taking place in venues across the city, and spilling out onto the streets. This year, we are particularly excited about welcoming the Shake ‘Em Up Jazz Band, a six-piece all female band from New Orleans. Gala is proud to be a focal point for much of the festival activity, and we look forward to welcoming you to the venue.
