Improving our theatre Durham County Council are set to invest over £500,000 in work to improve our much-loved venue. The project aims to refresh the décor of the auditorium as well as make improvements to the stage, lighting and backstage facilities for the visiting acts. There will also be essential repairs to the roofing and cosmetic updates to the café and box office areas. To allow the improvements to take place the venue will close from 1st April 2020 and will re-open in early September 2020 with an exciting new programme of events - many of which are now already on sale. Where do I purchase tickets during the closure? During the closure tickets will still be available to buy for upcoming shows online via the Empire website at www.empireconsett.co.uk A box office will also be available at Consett Library if you prefer to book tickets in person.
