SYNCRO - THREE IN ONE INTERIOR CDN DESIGN AWARDS BUICK WIN 2013

THE PROPOSAL GIVEN BY CDN WAS TO DESIGN THE THREE-IN ONE INTERIOR WHICH IS ONE OF FIVE DESIGN THEMES OF INTERIORMOTIVES COMPETITION 2013. THE DESIGN STRATEGY IS LIVELY CONNECTION BETWEEN EACH INTERIOR STORY OF PERFORMANCE DRIVE, LIVING ROOM, AND OFFICE AREA BY DYNAMIC GROUP DANCE. SYNCHRONIZATION CREATES STRONGER STORY THAN INDIVIDUAL.



POWERFUL CREATIVITY OF GROUP PERFORMANCE A group of modern dancers communicates with its audience to connect in more efficient way than single performance. Group Synchronization between dancers creates stronger connectivity than individual.

INTANGIBLE ARTS CREATE FUNCTIONING ELEGANCE Body movement creates beautiful organic lines. Each line communicates with intangible abstract forms, and build a creative rule of irregularity. The organic lines and forms function as a marvelously sculpted structure and surface. A group of modern dancers communicates with its audience to connect in more efficient way than single performance. Group Synchronization between dancers creates stronger connectivity than individual. Also, an elegant fabric functions as a marvelously synchronized surfaces with the astonishing sculptures.

2025 PLASTIC VEHICLE - CLAYTRONICS & HEXAGON AMERICAN CHEMISTRY COUNCIL SPONSORED Fall 2013

THE PROPOSAL GIVEN BY ACC WAS TO DESIGN AN 30% MASS REDUCTION VEHICLE IN 2025. HEXAGON STRUCTURE AND CLAYTRONICS TECHNOLOGY CREATE AN INNOVATIVE INTERIOR ENVIRONMENT. THE INTERIOR IS SPECIALLY DESIGNED TO SATISFY Z-GENERATION CUSTOMERS. VOLKSWAGEN DOES NOT ONLY LISTEN TO CUSTOMER’S STORY TO FIT INTO THEIR LIVES, BUT VW ALSO DESIGN BASED ON THE BAUHOUSE’S SLOGAN, ‘FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION.’

Claytronics technology interacts with tangible 3D objects by Catoms which is a combination of nanoscale robotics. Honeycomb is structured by hexagon shape which the lightest and strongest.

CO-EXISTANCE - NATURAL MODERNISM WARDS AUTO INTERIOR CONFERENCE WIN 2014

THE PROPOSAL GIVEN BY WARDS AUTO INTERIOR CONFERENCE WAS TO DESIGN 2025 FAMILY PICK-UP TRUCK. THE VEHICLE INTERIOR IS BASED ON THE NATURAL MODERNISM. THE ARTIFICIAL AND NATURAL MATERIALS ARE INSPIRED BY COEXISTENCE OF RIO NEGRO RIVER AND SOLOMON RIVER IN BRAZIL. THE INTERIOR DOES NOT ONLY PROVIDE PRACTICALITY BUT ALSO ECOLOGICAL ENVIRONMENT.

SINCE THE VEHICLE IS A FAMILY TRUCK, STORAGE UNIT RESPECTS PRIVACY OF EACH FAMILY MEMBER. EACH COVER OF THE PRIVATE STORAGE IS INFOTAINMENT DISPLAY. A DISPLAY OF THE INFOTAINMENT ON THE PRIVATE STORAGE IS MADE OF SMART TEXTILE TO PROVIDE BETTER TEXTURE THAN SOLID PIECE OF PLASTIC TOUCH SCREEN.

AUTONOMOUS DRIVING VEHICLE - DESERT TRANSPORTATION MICHELIN CHALLENGE DESIGN COMPETITION 2014 FALL 2013

THE PROPOSAL GIVEN BY MICHELIN WAS TO DESIGN AN AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE FOR THE 25TH ANNUAL MICHELIN CHALLENGE DESIGN FALL PROGRAM. DESERT STRIDER WITH A SPECIALLY DESIGN CHASSIS OF TEAM FLEX IS AN AMBULANCE TO RESCUE DESERT SURVIVORS. THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN BY PARAMEDIC OR ELECTRONIC SYSTEM FOR THE THEME, DRIVEN/UN-DRIVEN , OF MICHELIN CHALLENGE DESIGN.



RAPID RESCUE RESPONSE DESERT RESCUE CORPS SAVE OVER 630 PEOPLE IN A YEAR DUE TO THE FACT THAT A LOT OF YOUNG PEOPLE JUST GO OUT TO DESERTS WITHOUT ANY PREPARATION, SUCH AS DESERT SURVIVOR EDUCATION OR TOOLS.

DESERT SPORTS INDUSTRY IS GROWING RAPIDLY. Approximately, over 20,000 people wander around deserts in the United States every year to enjoy the tremendous non-public spaces, extreme desert conditions, and the freedom or escape from routines. These athletic people challenge themselves with extreme sports activities, such as hiking, biking, sand boarding, rock-climbing, sand-sleding, and much more.


Survivors on a desert sand coordinate their location through satellite GPS to the vehicles when they need a help. The vehicles track the coordinate signals and rescue or pick up the survivors. When the survivors get injured, paramedics will go with the vehicles and help them. The vehicles are also available to be used as a public transportation when people need a ride in a desert.

Outer center surface is made of D-3O gel to protect the vehicle and passengers in a better way than current tires. Spikes on the tires are inspired by flippers to swim on sand desert. Extended wheel spokes assist to drive on sand and mud.

LIGHTWEIGHT SKELETON STRUCTURE FROM WATER STRIDER Water strider’s skeleton structure provides benefits of lightweight structure for longer and faster travels on desert with a small amount of energy source. The stretched out legs generate better weight balance and movement of the suspension to specialize the vehicle for the most powerful and efficient performance while off-road travel.


AUTONOMOUS DRIVING MODE The vehicle receives satellite coordinates from random places of the desert. It tracks the coordinates, runs rapidly to the location, and rescue the survivors.

PARAMEDIC DRIVING MODE The paramedics are trained as off-road driving experts to rescue injured people on the desert in faster and better way than autonomous driving mode.


INTERCHANGEABLE CHASSIS The wheelbase of the chassis is interchangeable. Short wheelbase provides better performance, such as cornering, weight balance, and energy consumption. When the injured survivors have to lay down or they need more seats, the chassis stretches out and provide more space.

Each part was 3-D printed based on Alias model. Four different plastic materials were used on wheels and suspension, body, chassis, and wing.

DISPLAYED AT THE MICHELIN BOOTH By winning in the MICHELIN Challenge Design Competition 2014, the vehicle model was exhibited in the MICHELIN booth at the Detroit North American Auto Show.
