AHM Installations offers a full range of

Men’s Summer Fashion
Bright colours and patterns are a big trend for men’s fashion this spring summer. Everyone from Gucci to Paul Smith showed the bold prints and colours on their catwalks. Even high street brands are embracing the trend with Topman and River Island stocking bold fussy patterns and bright colours on trousers and t-shirts. However, if bold colours and over the top prints aren’t your thing there are still plenty of easy to wear trends available this season. The first big trend for menswear this spring summer is denim. The most obvious way to wear this trend is by wearing jeans; chances are you already have at least one pair in your wardrobe anyway. It doesn’t even matter what shade of jeans you have as anything goes. A great way to take this trend further is
by adding a denim jacket. Just remember that if you’re going to opt for the double denim look, don’t use the same colour of denim in your jeans as in your jacket. Try going for a dark denim for the jeans and a lighter shade for the jacket. If you’re feeling brave and want to stand out, there’s a wide choice of coloured denims available on the high street right now. The next easy to wear trend for spring summer is safari. This is a great trend for the more fashion shy as it’s a simple modest style. The safari trend is all about classic shapes such as the trench coat and cargo shorts. This is great as it
Chances are you already have at least one pair of jeans in your wardrobe! means you might already have the making of the trend in your wardrobe. Also it means that you’ll be able to wear these classics season after season and never look unfashionable so they’ll prove to be good value for money. Muted colours such as beige and khaki are the staple colours of the trend making it a tasteful and easy to wear style. Simply take a khaki fitted t-shirt or shirt and wear with beige cargo shorts for an on-trend safari look. Add on a parka, trench coat or loose fitting blazer for those colder days.
8
If you want to dip into the pattern trend but bold florals just aren’t your thing, stripes are the print to go for. Stripes have been seen all over the menswear catwalks and have filtered down to the high street. T-shirts printed with red or blue stripes are readily available and will go with any outfit. Stripes can also be added to your work wear wardrobe as there is a wide range of shirts to choose from with the classic print. For a bold statement, look out for striped blazers or trousers. With all these easy to wear trends there’s something for everyone so there’s no excuse to not give fashion a go this season. Keep an eye out for plainer colours and classic tailoring coming in for autumn winter 2013.

Meditation

flow that gets to the lungs. Practitioners also find that their resting heart rate is lower which takes some of the stress off their hearts.
he Oxford English Dictionary defines the verb ‘meditate’ as: to focus one’s mind for a period of time, in silence or with the aid of chanting, for religious or spiritual purposes, or as a method of relaxation. For many, some form of meditation is part of their daily routine. There are many different meditation techniques, including: transcendental meditation, prayer, Zen meditation, Taoist meditation, mindfulness meditation, and Buddhist meditation. Some methods require the body to be absolutely still, or to be moved with controlled deliberation, while other types allow for free movement of the body. While the methods are different, the end goal of all types of meditation is to lead to a mind that is at peace and free from stress by the use of quiet contemplation and reflection.
Those who meditate say they become less bothered by little things which they previously magnified and turned into serious things. Through meditation, they learn to detach and live in the here and now, rather than worrying about the past or future. Practitioners also find that meditation improves their memory and levels of concentration. This makes them more productive.
If practiced regularly, meditation can bring about healing of both the body and the mind.

with stress are lower in practitioners, it can lead to less anxiety for all. Some find it helps improve their mood and can decrease depression. This is because it has been found to increase serotonin production which influences mood and behaviour.
Meditation is also said to promote a youthful appearance and help in chronic diseases such as allergies and arthritis. It can also help in post operative healing, enhance the immune system by increasing the activity of ‘natural-killer cells’ and reduce the action of viruses. Ladies may find it reduces pre menstrual tension, and because evidence shows that chemicals in the body that are associated
A further benefit is known as ‘Knowledge of Self.’ Meditation allows a deeper understanding of our inner self and some feel that through meditation they gain a better understanding of their life’s purpose and become more self confident. By Susan Brookes-Morris

Bailey’s Ice Cream
July is National Ice Cream Month so why not try this deliciously creamy and very grown-up version Serves 6-8 Preparation time: 5 minutes Cooking time: 30 minutes Chilling time: Over night + freezing time (30mins- 3 hours depending on method used)
Ingredients
480ml whole milk 4 large egg yolks 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Method Pour the milk into a medium size, heavy bottomed saucepan. Add 100g of the sugar. Place over medium heat, stirring continuously, until the mixture registers 77C on a cooking thermometer. If you don’t have a thermometer the milk should be just bearable to dip your finger into…be careful! In a crock or stainless steel medium-size bowl, whisk together the 4 egg yolks and remaining 50g of sugar until foamy and slightly thick. Very slowly add half of the hot milk to the eggs, whisking continuously. Pour this egg mixture back into the sauce pan with the remaining hot milk and return to the stove top on a low-medium heat. Stir continuously with a wooden spoon or heatproof rubber spatula until the mixture reaches 85C on the thermometer or if you have no thermometer is thick enough to coat the back of the spoon or spatula. Take care to make sure the mixture does not boil. Remove from the heat. If it’s not completely smooth whisk it well before proceeding.
14
150g granulated sugar 240ml double cream 4 tbsp Bailey’s Irish Cream liqueur
Pour the double cream into a clean, large stainless-steel or glass mixing bowl set over an ice bath. Pour the heated custard mixture through a fine mesh sieve or strainer into the cold cream. Add the vanilla extract and stir until fully incorporated. Stir occasionally until the mixture has fully cooled. This should take about 1/2 hour. Remove the mixing bowl from the ice bath, dry off the bottom of the bowl if necessary, cover with plastic wrap, and chill in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours or overnight. Stir in the Baileys. Pour this chilled mixture into the ice-cream maker follow the manufacturer’s instructions. If you have no ice cream maker, don’t worry, you can still make ice cream though it will take a little longer. Pour the chilled mixture into a large container. Pop it in the fast-freeze section of your freezer. Check it after 45 minutes. It will have begun to crystallize around the edges. Use a hand whisk, wooden spoon or electric hand whisk to break the crystals up and incorporate them into the mixture, then refreeze. Keep checking and beating the mixture every 3040 minutes and within 3 hours you will have ice cream.

Sunny Accountancy
Karl Watts from Sunny Accountancy offers some sound advice for local business owners. 1. Review your books regularly. When you’re running your business, you may not take the time to sit down and look at your financials. But you can’t manage your money without having the facts. At least once a month, preferably once a week, look at your figures: accounts payable and receivable, expenses, cash flow, etc. 2. Send them your bill! I’m always surprised by how many businesspeople, especially consultants and professional service providers, delay sending out their invoices. You may feel uncomfortable asking someone for money, afraid of being challenged on how much you’ve billed, or just too busy working. But the longer you wait to send out your invoices, the greater the chance you won’t get paid. 3. Watch your inventory. If you produce goods, you’ll always be tempted to
produce more because you get savings based on volume. But inventory can go “bad,” become out-dated, unsaleable, time- or weather-worn. Inventory doesn’t just apply to finished goods for resale. You may have “inventory” in the form of marketing materials. Keep an eye on your actual use and make your purchases not only on the basis of price but whether you can get small quantities only when you actually need them. 4. Manage your growth. You want your business to get bigger, but if you grow too fast you may not be able to sustain it. Growth costs money; you incur many expenses before you see additional income. Plan your growth so you have the financial resources to pay for it. 5. Save. Every business has income fluctuations. The best way to have cash when you need it is to put some away when you’ve got it.

don’t know how he does it. When it comes to packing for holidays it takes my husband four minutes flat. I look enviously at his little pile of shorts, T-shirts and underwear and wonder where I am going wrong, as I wrestle with zips and straps in a determined effort to squeeze everything in. Many of us do it - pack too much when we go on holiday - then end up wearing the same few items all week. So how can we make the job easier, quicker and (with ever stricter baggage allowances), cheaper? The first step is to envisage how you see yourself spending your holiday. If it’s mainly sunbathing, all you need for the daytime is swimwear – a couple of bikinis per week plus a well cut swimsuit for genuine swimming or diving – flip flops and a loose fitting shirt to cover you up on the way to and from the beach or pool. Follow these tips and you shouldn’t go far wrong, but if you do, after your holiday write down all the items you ended up wearing (or that you wish you could have worn!) and use this as a guide next time you pack. Scarves make a good alternative and can also be used to wrap around and protect hair. A wide brimmed hat will shield your face and hair from the sun, and is also a great fashion accessory. Some fashion experts suggest you take as many dresses as you can fit in. Teamed up with jewellery, a clutch bag and heels they are great for evenings out, and are still suitable for daywear when worn with flatties and a tote bag. Remember to take at least one warm item for chilly evenings or windy locations. Don’t forget to pack a couple of pairs of sunglasses in different shapes to create a varied look. Finally, take an

3 Myths about cruising
ver thought about cruising? Concerned it is not for you? Then let me help. Firstly, let me introduce myself. My name is Nick Markham and I am an Independent Cruise Expert. About those “3 Myths”: TOO EXPENSIVE Cruises start off at as little as £180 for a taster cruise mini break usually lasting 2 nights. It is also important to remember that the cost of the cruise includes all your food and some soft drinks and teas/ coffee. ONLY OLD PEOPLE CRUISE Not true. Cruising is done by all ages.
28
Different ships will offer different experiences. Set sail on a Princess Ship and experience the ‘flo rider’, the climbing wall or ice skating rink.
NOTHING TO DO – BOREDOM; once again you need to choose the ship and itinerary that will suit you. Tell your cruise expert what you like and let them tailor make your ideal cruise. Think about what is important to you. Is
it the destinations you will visit, the ship itself or a bit of both? I hope you have found the above information helpful. For help with any further enquiries do not hesitate to contact me on Freephone 0808 180 0971, or email me at: nmarkham@ cruiseholidaysuk.co.uk, or check out my website; http://nickmarkham. cruiseholidaysuk.co.uk Next time I will discuss my time on board the launch party for the Norwegian Breakaway and discuss what this ship and many other Norwegian ships have to offer.
