2012 Defense Credit Union Council Conference & Showcase • August 19-22, 2012

This year marks the 49th year that Defense Credit Unions will gather for the Defense Credit Union Council’s Annual Conference. And as is routinely the case, 2012’s conference and showcase will offer some superb and valuable educational opportunities for credit union leaders operating on military installations worldwide. Whether those opportunities arise during the formal sessions or they occur during informal events, you can be assured, your every educational objective will be met! The dialogue will be rich; the discussion lively! The question at hand is whether you will be on site to deliberate the issues and share your views and opinions. For 49 years, DCUC’s annual educational conference has made a marked difference in the professional development of executive and senior credit union leaders supporting our troops. Now it’s your turn! Come to the “Mile High City”…join us in Denver for the one conference you will long remember. Four days of inspiring educational sessions; four days of dynamic speakers; four days of networking opportunities, showcase activities, and some enjoyable social events; and four days in one of the most scenic and majestic locations in our Country!! Join your fellow defense credit union colleagues in Denver to hear about national and defense related matters, to talk through common issues and business solutions, and to share ideas with one another! To further enhance your DCUC experience, take an active part in our Showcase with a Purpose. In years past, we have demonstrated our steadfast commitment and support for our severely injured troops --- having raised over $120,000 --- and this year’s effort will be no different! This year, we will be raising funds for the Hope For The Warriors®! So saddle-up or wheels-up…either way, make certain your destination is the Defense Credit Union Council’s 49th Annual Educational Conference in Denver, Colorado, August 19-22, 2012! This is the one conference you don’t want to miss! This Preliminary Program contains all the necessary information you need for the conference registration, spouse and guest packages, optional tours, and the 19th Annual Vice Admiral Vincent Lascara Golf Tournament. You can also get up-to-date conference information and even make your hotel reservations on our website at http://dcuc.org/Denver.html

2012 Defense Credit Union Council Conference & Showcase • August 19-22, 2012

Showcase with a Purpose

With your help, there will always be Hope for the Warriors! In the past nine years, DCUC has raised over $120,000 in charitable donations at their annual conference and showcase — all in support of our troops! This has been a joint effort between you, our credit union members, our generous corporate partners and the DCUC Board of Directors – working together to make a real difference.

®

Hope For The Warriors® is a national, nonprofit organization that assists combat wounded service members, their families and families of the fallen. A small group of military wives founded the organization in 2006. They stood together as they witnessed, firsthand, the ® their families. effects of the war on service members and Since that time, Hope For The Warriors® has grown tremendously in the span of programs offered and the number of wounded and family members assisted. Logo outlined in white, use on non-white backgrounds.

We are proud and thankful for this great partnership and appreciate the efforts of all those who have contributed over the years. In 2012, we are proud to announce that we will be supporting Hope For The Warriors®!

The mission of Hope For The Warriors® is to enhance quality of life for U.S. service members and their families nationwide who have been adversely affected by injuries or death in the line of duty. This year, our fundraiser will specifically go to help the Wounded Warrior Unit Support program, one of the many programs run by Hope For The Warriors®. Wounded Warrior Units operate on many U.S. military bases, offering a community where active-duty wounded service members can continue their recovery. Hope For The Warriors® assists these units by providing necessary equipment and supplies, sponsoring activities, and supporting events.

We are honored to bring hope to the lives of our nation’s heroes and their families. Join us in our mission this year to ensure that “no sacrifice is forgotten, nor need unmet.”

Exploring the Boulder Foothills

Victorian House Tour with Lunch

Cresting over the hill on highway 36 into Boulder, it’s easy to see why this intriguing town has been dubbed “the city nestled between the mountains and reality.” At 5,430 feet above sea level, acres of vast open space roll into Boulder’s quaint cityscape tucked into the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.

At the turn of the century, Denver was the grandest city between St. Louis and San Francisco! During this tour, you will see two of the most stately, luxurious and well-known houses in Denver from the Victorian era: The Byers-Evans and the Molly Brown houses. Lunch will be at Brown Palace Hotel, where dignitaries from U.S. Presidents to the Beatles have stayed in luxury.

9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Your first stop will be Celestial Seasonings Tea Company. Here you can experience a Tea Sampling while enjoying a walk through the Celestial Herb Garden and their Art Gallery, featuring original paintings depicted on tea boxes by some of the country’s most famous illustrators. And what would a tour of Boulder be without a stop at Pearl Street in downtown? With its diverse mix of restaurants and galleries, Pearl Street Mall is a true depiction of the beauty for which Boulder is known. Lunch is included.

9:30 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.

The final stop of the day will be a perfect photo op, as you will enjoy a relaxing stop to view the beautiful Flat Irons at Chautauqua Park.

Conference Attire Business Casual, with the following exceptions: • Hall of Honor Awards Dinner -jacket and tie are requested • O ptional Tours – Comfortable, casual clothing and shoes
