Dear Cattlemen and Cattlewomen,

Greetings from our family to yours, and welcome to our 33rd Annual Production Sale!

I thought 2023 was a great time to be in the cattle business and then came 2024. Wow!! Please take time to read some facts about our industry that I shared on page 28 under the explanation of the “You Pick ‘Em, We Breed ‘Em” Program. The cow/calf sector of our industry is seeing profit margins of a Historic Level. Congratulations, you have earned it in 2024 and it looks like the profit levels will continue to be very good times well into 2027!! You have the leverage; the demand for your calves has never been greater and the demand for beef at the counter is back as well. The consumer has spoken: “Beef, It’s What For Dinner!”

Again, our systems approach to serving you has and will continue to grow in 2025. We will again offer 450 head of Maternal Selected high quality females to help you build your cow herd for the future. See page 39 and plan for your replacements as you maximize your profits during these great times. A heifer that is purchased in 2025 and calves in 2026 will have at least 3 of the top selling calves of this cattle cycle.

Blake continues to press the edge with his genetic selection and his decisions will challenge the performance of any bulls and females both in the Gelbvieh Breed and as well as any breed. You will agree when you see this offering on March 3rd!

We again are offering Fall, Winter Yearling and Spring Yearling Bulls. You will find that the quality in this offering will help you add length of side, mass and carcass merit to your calves to maximize the pounds that you sell to the market. The heifers are of the same genetics and will stay in your herd for multiple calves. The females are genetically sound for longevity. Take a look and plan for your replacement needs by utilizing the “You Pick ‘Em, We Breed ‘Em” program. Fill your pastures with cows not Replacement Heifers!!

Please call with any questions that you have and we would welcome the opportunity to show the cattle before the sale or on Sale Day, March 3rd!!

This offering of bulls and heifers are of the quality that are amongst the Best Top Performance Genetics in the US for 2025. To take advantage of this Historic market and maximize the pounds of calf that you offer to the market, make sure that Cross Breeding is the standard at your Ranch. A crossbred calf is more demanded, higher in vigor and pounds, and will put more dollars in your wallet. The advantages of Crossbred vs Straightbred cattle are well documented.

See you at the Sale!

J203 was our number one favorite heifer retained in 2023. She has a beautiful phenotype and top notch performance. When crossed with 33J, you get M4103, a mid-framed powerhouse in a HOMO black package. Top 5% of the breed for YW and Marbling. Carcass guys better be circling this sire group!

BNC MR. HOJER M4137 11

Class Action has proven to be a very fundamentally steady breeding piece here at Hojer Ranch. His progeny all have a great substance in a moderate package. Lot 11’s Rampage dam gave her bull calf some great depth and a sleek attractive front end. Tell me how to make all purebreds have this kind of eye appeal and we would be in business!

BNC MR. HOJER M4138 12

Lot 12 is certainly a bull the provides a great amount of breeding versatility. He is nearly a complete outcross, on both sides of the pedigree, than anything we have ever offered. He busted the scales at 1338 pounds of yearling weight. His EPDs put him in the top 1% of the breed for growth! This guy should be on everyone’s short list!

Heifer buyers pay attention to this page of bulls! Speaking from first hand experience, I can guarantee these Whirlwind bloodlines will save you a lot of sleep during calving season. The calves come small but have an enormous amount of vigor. Lot 14 is a great option to take care of your heifers!

15

CKS BNC M4150

Ok everyone, I cannot reiterated enough how much of a calving ease opportunity these Whirlwind sons are. The gestation length on these bulls is the shortest I’ve seen from a higher percent Gelbvieh bull. His gestation length is shorter then Sam Darnold’s stint with the Vikings! Now that’s saying something! These bulls will absolutely work in your replacement pen!

CKS BNC M4155 16

So in order to become a Seedstock bull, there are a lot of boxes that need to be checked. This lot 16 bull checks every single box except for one. The DNA said he is not Homo polled. What does this mean? It means this guy is multiple generations polled and will be an absolute buy for the commercial cattleman. If this guy was HOMO polled he would likely be a top three bull in the sale. Take Advantage on March 3!

Crossbreeding is KING! I don’t care specific breeds are self promoting. The fastest way to add growth, performance, and efficiency is crossbreeding. This Baller calf packs the punch of a true Purebred Gelbvieh bull. You cross him up with some Angus cows and you will produce calves that will have order buyers salivating for. Crossbreeding = Profit!!

BLACK PUREBRED BULLS

This H066 cow is one that people should start to remember. Her very first calf was our second high seller named Big Chester in 2023 to Grandpa Duane Hojer. He has always known great cattle. He then partnered with Thull Gelbvieh on Big Chester and his progeny are everything we hoped for. This Lot 24 bull is sure benefitting from his momma. 830 pounds at weaning is no joke!

BNC MR. HOJER M4248 25

Freightliner daughters are just awesome. They really were ahead of their time. They are tight necked and large framed. There really are the type of female the breed needs today. You cross Unrivaled with a Freightliner daughter and you get added frame in overdrive! This lot 25 bull would work great on some smaller cows that you are wanting to put

Lot 27, named “Harry” by Jaden, was Jaden’s feeder bull calf this past summer at the Kingsbury County 4-H show. He won the bull calf show and has not only been a standout, but a pet of the pen ever since. If style and out of this world disposition are two thing you find important, then you better take a look at “Harry” in the bull pens!

BNC MR. HOJER L418 28

This K273 cow is a definite up and comer here at the Ranch. She herself was one of highest performing females in her group with a 118 ratio at weaning. So what does she do? Her first calf out the gates ratios 115 at weaning and 111 at yearling. This Trade Secret son posted a whopping 856 lb WW and will be sure to stand out on March 3!

BNC MR. HOJER M438

If there was ever a bull that will be a guaranteed money maker, it would be this Lot 30. Big time performance, frame, and length! This Great Divide female knocks it out of the park every single year. With an 833 lb WW and a 1464 lb YW, he is the highest performing bull in our offering this year. Take him home and let him do all the heavy lifting for you!!

This Finnegan/H0241 cross just hits on all cylinders. This M445 calf has a great blend of power and finesse. This guy is the ultimate dual purpose threat. He could be used on heifers for a few years but then will transition into a very impressive herd sire. If you haven't taken advantage of these Finnegan genetics yet, what are you waiting for??!!

If we had not been using Finnegan for several years already, and had we not recently purchased LRSF Chevelle (Finnegan’s son), this Lot 55 would likely not be leaving Hojer Ranch. From a power and performance standpoint, he is the most impressive Finnigan son we have raised. A ton of rib shape and mass. This guy needs to be found by everyone in the bull pens on March 3!

BNC MR. HOJER M464

I have told several people that the 3/4 blood Gelbvieh female might just be the sweet spot. They have the perfect amount of heterosis to breed up to purebred or down to balancer. This Deep End cow crossed with Finnegan really hit the sweet spot as well. Last time I checked, big ribeye equals big carcass weights. This guy is top 2% for ribeye!!

What is the difference between a 1,400 pound fat animal and a 1,600 pound fat animal? The correct answer is 5 inches of frame and $430!! GENOMIC ENHANCED EPD’s

The American Gelbvieh Association first incorporated genomic information into the summer 2013 genetic evaluation. Dr. Dorian Garrick of Iowa State University reported that a Gelbvieh/Balancer® specific panel of DNA markers can be used to develop genomicenhanced EPDs (GE EPDs). The combination of database information and genomic data resulted in EPDs that roll the accuracy of a DNA test and the information of individual, pedigree, and progeny performance into one, easy to use number.

USING GE EPD’s CAN HELP YOUR OPERATION IN 3 WAYS:

Increasing rate of genetic change

When we purchased Rampage from Diamond D Gelbvieh back in 2018, we were hoping for a homerun performance hitter. Well, we got it! His females have without a doubt been foundation power hitters for us. When crossed with Class Action you get a perfect blend of power and maternal superiority. That is what you will find with this Lot 43!

BNC MR. HOJER M4214

A lot of times in today’s world, we tend to complicate decisions. There is almost too much information that can cloud our judgment. Lets go back 20 years and evaluate this Lot 44. He’s extremely long. He’s got great frame size. He has exceptional eye appeal. He had an 823 lb WW and an elite EPD profile. Quit over thinking it and put this guy on your list. I think this guy could be a sleeper seedstock herdsire!!

In any other sale in the country, this Lot 45 bull would be the number one lead off bull. He is one of the younger bulls in the offering but he is without a doubt a Herdbull in the making. Great mass and thickness and raw power. I would not be surprised one bit if I see progeny from this guy headlining someone’s sale in a few year. Definite HERSDIRE PROSPECT!!

What do you get when you cross a big framed powerful Rampage daughter with a more moderate calving ease Whirlwind? Just take a glance to the right. You get the complete package! I haven't been this excited about a balancer bull in some time. He checks every box from low birthweight to high performance to big time carcass. Top notch HERDSIRE PROSPECT!!

BNC MR. HOJER L419 48

It will be a very sad day when B4277 is no longer roaming the pastures at Hojer Ranch. She is one of our foundation balancer females and continues to knock it out of the park every year. 4 of her 5 daughters have been retained and are great producers for us. The lot 48 bull is not only attractive but he posts one of the highest marbling scores in the entire sale!

MR. HOJER M430

BNC MR. HOJER M443 51

I believe bigger framed cattle are an important part of our breeding program. But I also recognize having more moderate size animals can work better for others. This Lot 51 bull is a very well put together Civil War son in a moderate package. If you’re looking to add some heterosis without increasing frame size on your animals, this guy would certainly do the trick!

Every now and again will have a twin bull calf that we feel has the potential to do some special things. This Z326 cow raised both this guy and his freemartin sister. Guys, she weaned off over 1400 pounds of calf between the two of them. There is no doubt in my mind this guy is going to continue to develop into a very nice herd bull specimen. He just had unfair competition his first 6 months of life.

BNC MR. HOJER M450 53

Doesn’t it seem like all that the seed companies want to offer anymore is all of these dual purpose hybrids. Well today (and just for today) call me a seed salesman! This M468 is 100% a dual purpose bull. Use him on heifers for a year or two and them turn him loose in the big pasture with 35 cows. He is going to get the job done along every step of the way!

Homo Black bulls were very popular in 2024 and I expect that trend will continue in 2025. Lot 56 is not only Homo Black, but I also see a ton of Cow Power Potential in him. His Complete Package dam is a zero miss cow for us. If I could have 60 of her in the herd, sign me up! Basically what I’m saying is buy this bull and keep every heifer out of him. Let the herd rebuilding begin!

BNC MR. HOJER M499

If you are needing to put a few extra inches of frame on your next calf crop, Lot 57 is the man for the job! The Unrivaled sire is such a unique breeding piece. He is by far the largest framed bull we have walking the pastures. His females are absolutely tremendous and you will see his females producing top bulls for the next decade. M488 could do the exact same for you!

There are several of them that are Homo Black. They have great carcass merit. The flat out grow. His first sons are averaging new a 110 ratio at weaning. I have had several people over the years say they want a bull out of a proven cow family. Well folks, it really doesn’t get much more proven then a 13 year old cow still getting the job done! The 59Z cow turned out to be one of the best female investments we have made. A $2,500 purchase that has turned into over $30k in returns. I am not a stock broker but that looks like a big return on investment! Lot 90 should be your next hedge!

L3309

I am liking what I’ve seen out of these Probity calves this year. They may not wow you with shear power and muscle shape, but the pounds still add up. I guess the best way to explain that is it seems they are just smoother in their pattern and are softer made. At the end of the day, pounds are pounds. It doesn’t matter how they add up, they all pay!

This year we tried something new in the development of our fall aged bulls. We ran most of them on grass this past summer. We felt this might aid in the development and longevity of the animals. So if the weights seem a bit lighter this year, that would be why. This L3324 calf is a prime example. A little slower development will pay you dividends in the end!

If you didn't know him, you would wonder why this huge fall aged bull is coming so close. Trust me, he’s just saying hello! Love this calf! His quality is second to none and he will be very laid back and easy to work with!

There will not be too many more opportunities to purchase Inferno genetics moving forward. He got injured last year during the breeding season. This Lot 99 bull provides everything we hoped for when retaining Inferno. Great structure, sound footed, an element of calving ease, and a great look! Take advantage of this while you still can!

not going to lie, the C5342 cow is one of those cows that gets

whenever I see her start to calve. If I could have 100 cows just like her, sign me up. She has produced several great daughters for us, our high selling bull in 2021, and current resident herdsire at Hojer Cattle Company. Lot 102 falls right in line and should be considered by everyone!

GROUP 1 - Recently, David Larson from Lost River Livestock stopped by. When we were looking through some cows, the C5225 cow really caught his eye. She has the size of a Gelbvieh with the look of an Angus. That is exactly what Lot 104 will develop into!

BNC MISS HOJER M4132 105

GROUP 1 - Here is a full sister to our high selling heifer a couple of years ago to Meng Farms. She is 99.9% Gelbvieh with an EPD profile that is beyond elite! These Chief Justice daughters are cementing themselves as foundation females for us moving forward. This girl has the chance to

BNC MISS HOJER M4184

GROUP 2 - This girl’s dam in the only Choco female we have on the entire ranch. If you want to talk about a complete outcross, here it is! Choco was most definitely known for his unique style for a purebred. That trait is shining through with Lot 108! HOMO Black and HOMO

1% of the breed for WW and YW! HUGE Opportunity!!!

BNC MISS HOJER M4118

GROUP 2 - I’m pretty excited about Continental’s first calf crop. We retained him in 2022 because of his unique length and phenotype. He is a 75% bull and we have the different type of females we felt he would work well on. The frame is the key. Lot 109 will be a larger frame female that will really help balance out some of the smaller framed AI sires we have out there!

GROUP 2 - *DNA sample failed* Right here is another sharp made purebred female with a great set of numbers. I think these 33J daughters are going to be the real deal. Just look how she carries her mass evenly from front to back. Her overall width actually takes away from how deep she really is. She is most likely homo polled, but with Inferno in the pedigree, she is most likely hetero black. Still a top notch female!

BNC MISS HOJER M435

GROUP 6 - *DNA sample failed* This is pretty exciting to be able to introduce these Whirlwind genetics in a purebred form this year. These girls will absolutely blow you away with their eye appeal. Lot 111 is most likely my favorite one of all of them. Her DNA sample failed, so unfortunately we don’t have any results on her. She is very likely homo black and homo polled. Do not discount this one due to a lab mistake!!

She has one of the most perfect udders you will find. I expect Lot 112 will follow suite! I’m telling you, you will not find this purebred genetic bloodline anywhere else in the country. Whirlwind is about to become very popular in the purebred Gelbvieh circuit. Get on board early!!

CKS BNC M4144

GROUP 6 - Just give me a break! The term curve bender doesn’t even come close in this fancy female! I challenge anyone to find me a purebred homo black homo polled female that even comes close to the EPD profile of Lot 114. This girl has breed changing potential! Buy her and make the next breed leading Herdsire!

6 - I believe the list is a mile long for people who want a homo black female that is in the top 5% for both calving ease and yearling weight. I mean seriously everyone, those two statistical categories just do not find themselves on the same stat line. Take this girl home and start flushing. This cow is going to be Big Time, just like her mother!

This is one of those girls I expect to have a huge future!

BNC MISS HOJER M4203 117

GROUP 9 - C615 has generally produced some very high quality red products for us over the years but this time she threw us a curveball. She gave us a really fancy black Unrivaled daughter. I could see this girl working great in a purebred or a balancer setting. By the way, if you want to make REAL balancers, take advantage of these purebred females. The original great balancers were TRUE F1 crosses!!

GROUP 10 - If there was one thing I didn't like about the Baller genetics, it’s that I wished they were a little tighter in the neck. This Lot 121 might be the cleanest fronted Baller calf I have seen. Compile that with her large amount of volume and capacity. She is one beautiful heifer!

CKS BNC M4209 122

GROUP 10 - A little bit of At Ease is just what Baller needed. At Ease injected a shot of calving ease and eye appeal into this Baller bloodline. The result is really quite desirable. Its been really fun to see At Ease genetics find themselves around the country. The common consensus is that they make tremendous females. Lot 122 will surly keep the trend going!

CKS BNC M4205

GROUP 13 - When the CKS cows first arrived at Hojer Ranch, the first cows to jump out and impress me was the H30 cow. If I could stick her in a clone machine and make 60 duplicates, I would! There are not very many heifers that topped the 1200 pound at yearling mark. Take this girl home and inject some calving ease into her, and you will have yourself a total and complete package! That’s ironically

BNC MISS HOJER M451

GROUP 13 - I vividly remember when C590 came into the chute during AI season. What is the type of bull I need to use on a large frame, powerful, Freightliner daughter? Probably a more moderate stout made bull. TAU Rush instantly came to mind. It sure looks like the combination worked. This M451 female is a perfect blend of power and style!

BNC MISS HOJER M485

GROUP 13 - Back to back lots with Freightliner in the

It’s going to be a sad day when these daughters are gone. They are no miss performance makers. This E772 cow is a Dam of Merit and has had 6 calves in her lifetime, all being heifers. This is the first time ever we have let one of her progeny leave the ranch. Every other daughter has been retained and is still in production. Talk about leaving a lasting Legacy!

GROUP 13 - I do not know how I missed this heifer when selecting picture animals. She needed to be pictured and needed to be on every piece of advertisement we put out there. This is an elite purebred heifer! Big Time won’t even describe it! Just watch her video. She struts her stuff better then J-Lo in the Super Bowl half time performance last year!

GROUP 15 - Get used to this H103 female. What did she do with her first calf in 2024? She only raised the High Selling Bull, Ascendance, who is arguably the best Black Purebred raised at Hojer Ranch and will be one of the heaviest used AI sires used in the breed in 2025. This Lot 128 heifer has big shoes to fill, but by the looks of her, that shouldn't be a problem!

BNC MISS HOJER M4173

GROUP 15 - I know I am most definitely getting repetitive about these Freightliner blood lines. But I am not sorry for it! I cannot stress enough how much performance these genetics have. If you are wanting a female that will raise more pounds, more size, and more physical dominance, you need to strongly consider Lot 130!

BNC MISS HOJER M4218 131

GROUP 15 - Roll out the red carpet and let MISS M4218 show off what her momma gave her! You want to talk about one of the most fancy made and eye appealing purebreds you will find anywhere! This girl reminds me of the scene in the classic movie the Sandlot when Squint loses his mind over the lifeguard, Wendy Peffercorn. You all will be losing your minds over Lot 131!

BNC MISS HOJER M4114

GROUP 16 - Jordan Jensen from Jensen Ranch in North Dakota called me last year inquiring about Class Action. He had used some semen a couple years ago and had great success with his females. Jordan was basically asking if this was a fluke or a pattern. Well once is a fluke, twice is a coincidence, three times or more is a proven pattern. These Class Action daughters are big time consistent producers!

BNC MISS HOJER M4202 134

GROUP 16 - Just look through the entire heifer section for a few minutes. How many of the females top 800 lbs at weaning and 1100 lbs at yearling? I bet you didn’t find very many did you? That is because these type of high performance females are literally in rarified air. They just don’t come around very often. Overmiller Gelbvieh and Red Angus purchased a female that raised a sale topper. This girl will do it too!

GROUP 16 - There will come a time very soon when you will no longer see The Judge in many pedigree lines. The Judge set a standard in maternal superiority that has been difficult to live up to. These females will milk as good as any female out there. I stand 100% behind that statement! That milking ability results in a huge boost in weaning weights. This Lot 135 has cow power written all over her!

BNC MISS HOJER M434

GROUP 4 - I am just giddy about the fact the we will have Chevelle walking our pastures for the next couple of years. These daughters just jump out at you. They demand attention. If this Lot 136 heifer was at the Super Bowl this year, she would get more camera time then Taylor Swift! And I might be a closet “Swiftie” so that’s saying something!!

CKS BNC M4191 137

GROUP 4 - ELITE, ELITE, ELITE! This foxy lady right here could possibly be the best Purebred Red female to sell this sale season. She takes a high performance package and makes it look feminine! Top 2% MK and TM. Top 20% WW and YW. Tope 10% Marbling. This is a foundation female. Take her home and set a new standard for your ranch!

CKS BNC M4247

GROUP 8 - Finnegan daughters in my opinion are underrated! These genetics have placed progeny in seedstock operations around the country. They have elite calving ease but excel at growth way more then they are given credit for. Our Finnegan daughters will be raising top end bulls for us for years to come. Take this girl home and let her do the same!

GROUP 4 - I must have come down with a case of writer’s fatigue. I think when I saw the Dam was G46, the song “Like a G6” popped in my head and I just can’t get it out of my head. But in a way it makes sense. This Lot 138 heifer is so slick and fancy, she could literally be decked out getting ready to head out to the clubs! If people didn't know any better, you’d think she was Red Angus!

GROUP 8 - This year will be the first of many sale catalogs that you will find awesome cattle sired by the Continental bull. I just love what this young Finnegan daughter did with her first calf. She is stout made and looks like she will mature into a real nice brood cow. If you are looking for some high quality complete outcross genetics, look no further!

BNC MISS HOJER M4119 148
