The KY Gelbvieh Association has worked hard to find the best genetics to offer for this prestigious event. If you want a purebred brood cow extraordinaire, here she is. Daisy Duke was our grandson’s Division winning KY State Fair show heifer in 2017. She is an August yearling purebred Gelbvieh that is ready to breed. When you see her, you will have to say—now there is a cow! She is extremely gentle, super sound, deep, soggy, and easy-fleshing, with EPD’s written like a Who’s Who for the breed. She has EPD’s in the top 10% all across the board. She is a daughter of the great Leverage bull and out of a super nice Black Impact daughter. Performance wise, starting at a modest birth weight of 82 pounds, she posted a 653 weaning weight, and had a 365 day weight of 1032 on a moderate frame. Our show barn was not for her, except for a fan and daily bath. She developed on fescue with a very little supplement. This type of female is what we are breeding to have in our herd… grass cattle! She sells calfhood vaccinated, current on preventive vaccines, and open, ready to breed. She is such an outstanding purebred, we are emotional to say the least, about parting with her. Both are influence individuals in the Angus breed. 679D is a feminine, clean fronted female that is long spined with a big spring of rib. She has a strong, square hip and is fault free in her movement. She is on track to be around 1,050 pounds at yearling yet she maintains a modest frame. This young lady will be competitive in the ring and a beauty in the front pasture.
Miss JENJ 713E is a homozygous black, homozygous polled Sam 3187A daughter that is the complete package. Her performance, pedigree, and EPD profile make her a strong candidate for a donor program. She is one of the first Sam 3187A daughters to be offered at auction. She is well balanced, feminine, and structurally correct. She is as clean fronted as any Gelbvieh you’ll find.
