Red Hot Black Production Sale March 15-31, 2017 14 Virgin Gelbvieh/Balancer Bulls 2 Two-Year Old 12 Yearling View Lots and Bid online at www.dvauction.com
Fellow Cattlemen and Cattlewomen, Welcome to Squeakin’ By-LK Farms first annual bull sale. We started our purebred Gelbvieh herd in 2009 with 4 heifers that we bought from Triple N Gelbvieh. We had ran Gelbvieh bulls from several different breeders prior to that and had a good Gelbvieh base in our commercial cows. We loved the way they looked and performed so much that we decided to use the Gelbvieh breed to fulfill our dream of raising seed stock cattle. We have sold bulls private treaty the past few years, but we had such a good selection this year, we decided to try an auction. We know that an overly fat bull will not perform well and with that in mind these bulls have been hand fed a ration of ear corn, oats, and protein along with free choice hay. As a result they are a very gentle group of bulls. They have been DNA tested and sire verified and all EPD’s reflect this. They are virgin bulls and have been vaccinated following vaccination program guidelines by Zoetis. The bulls will receive their BSE and spring vaccinations in early March to prepare them for breeding. These bulls are guaranteed to breed for the first breeding season. What this means is that if the bull you select suffers a breeding related injury during the first 90 days after you turn him out we will help you in 1 of 3 ways. 1. If you need a bull to finish out your breeding season you may exchange him for a different one of like kind, if available. 2. If you need a bull to finish out your breeding season and we do not have one available for exchange we will loan you a bull to finish out your breeding season and then you will receive a credit toward next year’s sale. 3. If you do not need a bull to finish out your breeding season, you will receive a credit toward next year’s sale. We will deliver the bulls free of charge with-in a 200 mile radius of Shubert, NE and will work with you to get your bull to you in a timely manner. We will give a $100 credit if you pick your bull up from our farm. We thank you for your interest in our breeding program. If you have any questions or want to view the bull lots in person, please contact us. We are glad to help in any way. We named this boy Sampson when he was born because he is a “Sam” son, but as he grew his name took on a whole new meaning and he became the powerhouse bull we see today. We chose Sampson as our lot 1 bull because he has it all, top 20% of the breed for calving ease and weaning weight along with a yearling weight EPD over 100. He is a very thick, deep bodied, homozygous black, homozygous polled bull that any cattleman can appreciate.

His 700# weaning weight was impressive given the pasture they were on ran out of grass and they were fed grass hay from August to weaning. *Not recommended for small frame heifers

This purebred black bull is the 2nd calf out of a 2 1/2 year old red heifer. We were impressed with his dam’s ability to have her first calf at 15 months of age, raise a good first calf, and get bred right back with this guy. SQB 181D’s total maternal EPD of 82 reflects this well. With good calving ease and growth EPD’s you can’t go wrong with this boy.
