Here is a female that we feel has an extremely bright future ahead of her no matter what you are looking to do with her. From the show ring to the donor pen, this girl will work. Royally bred with a pedigree that needs little to no introduction and has extreme maternal strength built in from both sides out of the legendary female sire CTR Highlight 066K and the winningest female in breed history PLA Zelda 20Z who is quickly closing in on the 100,000-dollar mark in progeny sells. Much as expected from this mating, 20F2 is powerful in her build, tremendous in her rib shape, combines this with a near flawless skeleton and super sound structure. Don’t let this chance to add proven genetics and what very well could be the next great donor in the breed pass you by because I promise this girl will pay big dividends and make you look real smart in a short time when she hits production.

Here is an absolute, 100% example of the Pleasant Meadows breeding program. This is your opportunity to own a wonderful black November daughter of our home-bred, KY State Fair Grand Champion Bull and NAILE Division Champion, PMFG Challenger 556C, an RWG Traction son. Her natural dam PMFG Candy Kisses 266X, a great Black Impact daughter, has proven time-ntime again as a truly super-donor for us and now also for Joshua French at Big Clifty, KY. This heifer was shown successfully at the KY State Fair and NAILE this past show season, winning her division in both shows, as a senior calf. She is definitely a proven performer, and with a super set of EPD’s and pedigree will be an outstanding donor for anyone. She sells A.I.’d on 1-1-2019 to the very exciting calving ease bull, EGL Lifeline AMGV1298079. This is a herd builder, if we ever made one. Mark her WOW!

Starting a herd or looking for a great red cow/ calf pair for your front pasture? Here is a wonderful, easy-keeping second calf, cow with an outstanding red heifer calf at her side. Both are broke and gentle for anyone. The cow was the 2017 KY State Fair Grand Champion Gelbvieh female. Cow is out of the great Canadian bull RWG Traction, so highly used by Warner Gelbvieh and Cedar Top Gelbvieh. Her dam is an old matriarch of Pleasant Meadows, PMFC Riley 537R; Carrie’s favorite and many times champion show heifer. Caroline is rebred on 1-2-2019 to the exciting A.I. sire EGL Lifeline, AMGV1298079. Her red heifer calf, PMFG Frilly Lady 837F (Lot 1) is a 9-19-2018 daughter out of DLW Arapahoe 207A, high selling red bull from Warner Gelbvieh to Larry Clark a couple of years ago, that is making some outstanding red genetics. King Pin is another one we feel is super unique and the idea of retaining him as a herd sire has been talked about many times. This guy we truly believe is as good of a high percent bull as we have made to date. The natural son of the National Champion donor female TLKF Whitney 251W and out of the same sire as the reserve females at ‘17 Jr Nationals, ‘17 & ‘18 NAILE, GHGF Zeus 61Z. King Pin is royally breed and offers a phenotype that’s second to none when it comes to higher percent Gelbvieh cattle. This guy in hind sight should have made it to the show barn earlier and made the show ring this fall/winter at NAILE and NWSS, but let that missed opportunity work to your advantage as now, he is available at Expo. Here is one that is striking to look at, so good in terms of his head and neck, flat shouldered, super soft centered and has the right kind of lose flexible structure to sire cattle that will perform and stand the test of time in the pasture. He does this while still coming with more than enough power and genuine width to give the extra pounds that are demanded at sale time. He ties a flawless phenotype and power in pedigree together all the while rationing 105 at weaning, 103 yearling and bosting a 119 IMF ratio. So no matter if you are selling them at weaning, retaining replacements or a seedstock guy looking for your next herd bull that will leave a lasting impact for many years to come, this 75% Double Black Homo polled young herd sire prospect will flat work. Be sure to take a long look here, I think you will agree, this one is flat good!

Man, oh man talk about one of the truly elite bulls that we have ever offered at the KY Beef Expo and really just in general. This guy is one we have thought long and hard about keeping back for us to use, but we like to stay committed to only offering the best our program has to offer and we feel Power Play truly represents that. Out of our up and coming angus herd sire GHCC Long Range and one of the great young Blue’s Impact females in the herd. This guy’s pedigree is stacked with cattle that have proven year after year to flat get it done and do so while being easy keeping and offering tremendous longevity. Take a look at his picture and just as his name implies, this guy brings unbelievable growth, power and skeletal dimension to the table while still being super easy keeping, soft and bold centered and sets down on 6x6 for bone with some of the biggest most correct feet we have seen. E51 combines this unmatched power with being impeccable in his joints, so correct in his angles and can flat get out and cover ground. If it wasn’t for wanting to bring you our best and this guy’s sire and dam being young, I can promise you he’d be staying in Mt. Ulla to cover cows! If you need added power, pounds, and great maternal strength in Homo Black Homo Polled package in your herd then look no further because Power Play is your guy.

Kentucky Department of Agriculture Dear friends, Welcome to the 33rd Annual Kentucky Farm Bureau Beef Expo! Through the ups and downs of the beef cattle market, the Beef Expo has held steady, generating more than $1 million in sales each of the last seven years. We hope this year’s event will be no different. At the Beef Expo, cattlemen show and sell some of the best cattle in the country to buyers looking to upgrade their herd genetics or take home a show project. The leading beef cattle state east of the Mississippi River truly is the place to be for the beef industry on the first weekend in March. The Kentucky Department of Agriculture (KDA) is hard at work to help cattle producers succeed. The KDA seeks new domestic and foreign markets for Kentucky Proud agricultural products, and I recently named a longtime leader in Kentucky agriculture, Tim Hughes, to head up our trade efforts. The Office of the State Veterinarian works with our partners at USDA, Kentucky’s two veterinary diagnostic laboratories, and private veterinary practice to protect Kentucky livestock and poultry from foreign animal diseases and eradicate disease outbreaks when they occur. While you’re in Louisville, we hope you’ll take the time to enjoy Kentucky Proud foods in some of the dozens of restaurants in Louisville’s nationally acclaimed local food scene. Again, welcome, and best wishes on an enjoyable and successful Kentucky Farm Bureau Beef Expo. If I or any of my staff can be of service to you, please don’t hesitate to ask. Sincerely,
Ryan F. Quarles

Welcome to the 2019 Kentucky Farm Bureau Beef Expo. It’s a pleasure to welcome each of you to the 2019 Kentucky Farm Bureau Beef Expo, an event that showcases some of the best cattle in the country, and something we are proud to be involved with for so many years as corporate sponsor. For 100 years, Kentucky Farm Bureau has served as the “Voice of Kentucky Agriculture.” A big part of our ag economy is related to our cattle industry and as we celebrate our Centennial this year, we continue to recognize the importance this sector plays in the overall tapestry of our agricultural landscape. Kentucky’s beef cattle industry has grown so much over the past two decades to the point of national prominence as the top beef cattle producing state east of the Mississippi and the eighth top state in the country. But more than just cattle numbers, the industry is such an important sector in Kentucky’s overall agricultural economy. With total farm gate receipts expected to hit the $5.7 billion mark in 2018, the state’s cattle industry represents about 13 percent of that total. For those of you who have been to the Expo before, I don’t have to tell you what an experience this is. For those of you coming for the first time, I hope you find the experience invaluable whether you are showing, selling or buying. The Kentucky Farm Bureau Beef Expo has become one of the premiere events of its kind in this area and we are glad you are a part of it. Sincerely,
Mark Henry President “Voice of Kentucky Agriculture”
