IFYKYK is an acronym for If You Know You Know. I knew there was something special about this calf very early on. The one who always caught my eye and never had a bad day. I remember looking up his parentage on my phone and realizing that my all time favorites were stacked up in his pedigree. That’s when it occurred to me - If You Know You Know !
BABR VORTEX 4401M ET
Vortex is one of the stoutest made, deepest bodied bulls we have campaigned. He offers added length of spine and width across his top combined with a rugged powerful look. These are some of the most proven genetics to come from our operation and the full sisters are ideal in production. His donor dam has 40 recorded progeny with her natural and ET sons topping our production sale annually. This is a bull that combines a big birth to weaning spread along with added maternal strengths making him a well-rounded prospect for all facets of the industry. He ranks in the top percentiles for multiple traits such as the top 2% CREA & PG30, top 10% for WW, YG, CW & CFAT; and the top 20% for YW. His sire Flying H 80A/40A 79E ET has been one of the most consistent sire groups we have had over the years and feel this mating combines highly maternal genetics without sacrificing pounds at weaning. Vortex along with his full siblings have been stand out prospects throughout the summer and fall.
BNW PLAINSMAN MAVERICK 4112M
EGL GAME CHANGER D136
BNW Maverick 4112M is a total powerhouse! We probably should have named him Charles Barkley! He’s got extreme depth and spring of rib that will definitely make you look twice. Maverick had a 96 BW ratio and a 111 WW Ratio, so this is a calf that will add pounds, and he will not add any frame score to get those results.
Maverick has a fresh pedigree, on both the top and bottom. His sire, Top Gun J011 from Black Gold Gelbvieh is a young powerhouse bull, that we have used for a few years now and we are very pleased with his calves. They are all similar to this guy – lots of rib and depth and we feel that Maverick will add that extra to his offspring, as well. On Maverick’s bottom side, you will see that BNW 0065H reached Dam of Merit status her first year of eligibility. Her 3 calves to date have averaged 109 for WW, 114 for YW and 103 for IMF. So, with this kind of quality from Maverick’s bottom side, he will also make the females you want to keep.
SEPT WALLSTREET M433 ET
Great herd sires come from great mothers, SEPT Wallstreet is just that from the Partisover Julia cow herself, that we like to hang our hat on for the simple fact that generation after generation, they have the potency and power to make money. It is cow families that we always talk about and this one has proven their worth time and time again. SEPT Wallstreet’s pedigree is generations deep and generations good. It is easy to see his quality runs deep, he is complete. Extra look, huge feet and legs that hit the ground with authority and body along with a huge top. Thickness and squareness you could only dream about in a herd sire. Speaking or sires his grandsire is none other than Deer Valley Growth Fund himself. Proven genetics and balanced EPD’s.
PHS PROHART MONARCH 439M
Known as “Tank” on the ranch, ProHart Monarch 439M is a moderate-framed, thick-topped, soggymiddled bull with a loose spine, big good feet, and an effortless, cushioned stride. His sire, Kruise Kontrol, left a strong legacy despite being lost to injury after one season, making Monarch’s genetics a rare find.
Monarch posted an 89 lb. birth weight and an 806 lb. adjusted weaning weight with a 112 ratio, combining standout performance with 10 EPDs above the breed average. His dam was a class winner at the 2022 National Gelbvieh Show and produced the high-selling heifer at the 2024 National Sale. With his powerful build and balanced genotype, Monarch is a standout you won’t forget. We’d be honored to have your consideration in Denver
BARG MIC DROP 860M ET
Introducing to you BARG Mic Drop 860M ET. This bull has been catching our eye ever since he was a month old. He starts at the ground with a big foot and bone structure building a solid foundation for his extra width and mass he carries in his rear 2/3. He is wide topped and carries that thickness on down his rear and features a huge barrel middle. Not only does this bull feature the look it takes to draw your attention but he is also backed by generations of productive cows. Mic Drop’s dam, BEA 6110 was our pick of Jim Beastrom’s dispersal sale and is backed by the highly admired female, DLW Miss Edison 321A. This combination with BGGR Black Gold Payload has created the perfect combination that will create performance driven bulls and produce highly productive easy keeping cows. We look forward to your evaluation of BARG Mic Drop 6110M ET.
DCSF POST ROCK MASTERCRAFT 135M8 ET
Post Rock Mastercraft 135M8 ET is the highly anticipated result of an ET marriage designed to bring together the freshest, most popular, and heaviest used genetics in the Angus breed (Connealy Craftsman) with one of the most maternally bred, elite, progeny-proven Gelbvieh donors (82F) of her era. The Gelbvieh gods smiled on us with a truly eye-popping stud that has elite genetic predictors for calving ease, growth (top 4% WW & YW), maternal (top 10% Milk, top 2% Total Maternal, top 20% Preg30, and top 2% Docility), and Carcass Merit (top 3% Carcass Weight, top 20% Ribeye Area, top 25% Marbling, and top 10% FPI). Mastercraft’s dam is also the dam of our 2023 Balancer Bull Futurity Champion, Post Rock Prominent 139K8 and our high selling purebred bull in 2023, Post Rock Icon, to Flying H Genetics, that is proving to be an outstanding breeding bull. Equally important and exciting is the fact that Mastercraft’s flush mates are at the top end of the replacement females and the top end of the fall aged bulls at Post Rock. Progressive breeding programs must stay on the move with the freshest genetics with a strong maternal base, and here’s your chance.
POST ROCK CATTLE CO
PLA PROFIT PARTNER 1M ET
This bull is a true 50% Balancer coming from our lead purebred donor cow and from the popular Growth Fund bull. He offers EPDs in the top 1%-30% in 14 categories. Very high performing bull with loads of mass, stretch, bone and a big foot. This guy was our favorite since he was born and we think you’ll see why. Very eye appealing. Your evaluation is appreciated. Come to Denver and see this guy! You won’t be disappointed with his high performance EPDs. He brings style, balance, and completeness all together.
TAU PURSUIT 42M ET
It is with great pleasure that we offer TAU Pursuit 42M for your appraisal. 42M is a homozygous black homozygous polled 38% Balancer that offers a tremendous combination of genetic merit and phenotypic value. He is backed by our elite donor, TAU Ms. Leverage 6088D and sired by the upand-coming Angus sire Connealy Commerce. Pursuit’s look from any angle is tremendous. He is bold bodied, great in his angles and thick ended. He is attractive in his build, with plenty of length and extension. His balanced EPD profile, with an emphasis on growth and carcass quality is also intriguing. Pursuit ranks in the top 25% of the breed for 13 significant traits including the top 1% for WW, YW, TM, CEM, and FPI. His actual data follows right in line as he hit the ground at 82lbs and weaned off his dam at 819. If you’re looking for a fresh pedigree with tremendous eye appeal, growth, maternal and carcass take a look at TAU Pursuit 42M. Thanks for your consideration!
RAIL MILE HIGH 409M
We would like to introduce you to RAIL Mile High 409M a HOMO Black HOMO Polled grandson of the great LD Capitalist 316. Mile High is everything we are striving for phenotypically starting from the ground up, you gotta love his foot size setting down so softly on all four while maintaining the right amount of bone. But what makes him our type of cattle is his super soft look, bold through his rib cage and smooth through his front 1/3. As much as we love Mile High in person he holds his own on paper as well making him an elite herd sire prospect with 3 traits in the top 5% and 5 traits in the top 20% of the breed. We look forward to all of our peers on analyzing Mile High!
JRI REAL DEAL 282M360
Breeders, profitability in the beef industry is based on fertility, longevity and teat/udder excellence and at one time, fertility alone was documented as 12 times more economically important than any trait. JRI Real Deal offers you the all-important traits of fertility, longevity, and teat/udder excellence in one complete package. Real Deal nursed an unmatched first-calf JRI Bandito 253H32 daughter, JRI Ms Dominique 282K360, who possesses a picture-perfect 99 teat/udder score. Ms Dominique flat knows how to produce widespread birth to growth as Real Deal features a calving ease 74 lb. birth weight, whopping 787 lb. 205-day weight with a scale busting 930 lb. actual weaning weight. Unmatched fertility and big-time producing ability run mighty deep in Real Deal’s genetic profile as he features 5 Dam of Merit honored grandams, who were all honored as Dam of Merit females in their first year of eligibility. Rest assured cow efficiency is all part of “The Complete Package” as Real Deal’s 930 lb. actual weaning weight equated to 80.2% of his first-calf dam’s 1,160 lb. body weight.
BGGR BLACK LABEL L973 ET
We are proud to nominate Black Label as our Balancer Futurity bull entry. He is a very exciting, young herd prospect that combines two of the greats in the breed. It is no coincidence that Payload has been a herd bull making sire who has also left us with some tremendous, deep bodied functional brood cows. Vivian C1083 was crowned National Balancer female in 2018. We couldn’t be more pleased with her progeny. This has probably been the most anticipated and exciting flush we have had to date. Black Label and his flush mates make up our pen of three Balancer bulls entered in the 2025 NWSS. Black Label is truly a complete package!
CBRO BIG SHOT 2390L
JC Cattle couldn’t be more proud to offer our 1st Balancer Bull Futurity entry this year as the NWSS comes back to Denver! This stout young herd sire is the culmination of excellent genetics we have amassed from our dear fellow breeders, that have taken our family under their wing. Big Shot has it all, starting with the incredible cow foundation with the right kind, picture perfect uddered, and easy feeding. Jessica is the true foundation cow that won many a banner for Cody growing up. She is now doing what every breeder strives for, making the ideal herd cow. Everyone needs a whole herd of them. Our Ring of Gold winning bull, “Spike”, is on the sire’s side, stout, sound and functional, with calving ease and growth. As breeders, we are always pushing the boxes to make the extremes more the norm. But with the trends swinging to and fro, these are the type of cattle are the ones that make the money year after year. Stout, good balanced EPDs, calving ease, eye appeal with the right kinda growth. Easy choices for our program and yours don’t over think it.
