Commercial Marketing Specialist
The American Gelbvieh Association is currently seeking a qualified individual to join the team as a Commercial Marketing Specialist. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and energetic team with the primary goal of improving the Gelbvieh and Balancer® breed.
This is a traveling position based from a home office, the location of which is negotiable. Preference will be given to those willing to be based out of a desired region as determined by the Executive Director and the Commercial Marketing Director The Commercial Marketing Specialist is a beef industry networking position. The function of this position is to connect Gelbvieh and Balancer® stakeholders to create marketing opportunities for all industry partners that utilize Gelbvieh influenced genetics.
Position Responsibilities:
• Work with the American Gelbvieh Association marketing team to increase demand for Gelbvieh and Balancer® sired feeder cattle and replacement females.
• Strengthen relationships between commercial producers and the AGA.
• Promote AGA commercial marketing programs and represent the breed at various beef industry events.
• Build a network between AGA breeders, commercial cow/calf producers, feedlots, packers, and industry partners
• Communicate closely with Commercial Marketing Director and Executive Director on generating new markets and opportunities for AGA members and stakeholders.
• Contribute to discussions regarding development of AGA commercial marketing programs, breed growth and promotional programs.
• Travel to commercial producers, production sales, and industry events
• Other responsibilities based on skill and interest may be determined by the Executive Director and Commercial Marketing Director.
• Position will include opportunities to gain professional growth, leadership and education.
• Additional responsibilities as appointed by the Executive Director and Commercial Marketing Director.
Qualifications:
• Knowledge of the beef cattle industry
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Skill in the ability to evaluate and describe cattle phenotypically
• Comfortable with computers and related technology
• Ability to travel and arrange travel within a pre-determined budget
• Self-motivated and able to work in a team environment
• Ability to organize, prioritize and execute multiple activities effectively
• Must be reliable, dependable and a self-starter
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in agriculture or equivalent industry experience
• Beef cattle industry experience required
