Chimney Butte Ranch is proud to offer the 2023 Golden Rule Raffle Heifer.
November 9, 2022 gave us 24-30 inches of fluffy white snow, the wind filled our corrals, feedlot and facilities with drifts. This wonderful moisture has been followed by another 24+ inches in late December, again drifting our facilities full of snow. We found it impractical to get a single heifer calf ready to present properly at the Golden Rule Sale. After discussions with members of the sale committee and MMS, we decided to offer a pick of any of our 2022 born open heifers. There will be approximately 100 to select from. The A-I sired heifers include offspring from, PHG E02 Eminence, DCH C169, JOB 53B Choco, DCH G413 Triple Husker, DCH H705 Herbie, and DCH H719 Hagar. 16 natural sires were used in our 2021 breeding program. They include two Breeders Choice Futurity champions, PHG E02 Eminence and PHS OL Glory 935G. Other natural sires used include DCH G421, JOB Choco 53B, and DCH D610 Dollar to name a few. Winner of the drawing will be given a complete list of sires, and available heifer calves. All heifers will be registered with DNA profiles. Currently registration and DNA are in process. If requested we will develop, breed and preg check this heifer with our other heifers. This will be at a negotiated price with the lucky winner. The heifer will be given a reproductive tract vet exam with our other heifers. In the 30 plus years we have raised Gelbvieh seed stock we have only offered a pick of the herd one other time. We offered a pick of the herd in the 2020 Golden Rule sale. Rippe Gelbvieh purchased and selected DCH G406. They bred her and then put her in the donor pen. During the December 2022 Rippe Red dispersion, several of her Daughters sold, averaging over $4000 each. G406 was the high selling individual of the sale, and brought $32,000.
We cannot guarantee how an animal will develop, but we are offering a unique opportunity, and chance to own one of our best for the mere price of a raffle ticket.
