American Gelbvieh Association Registry and DNA Services Specialist
Job Purpose:
The American Gelbvieh Association is seeking a Registry and DNA Services Specialist to work in all segments of a dynamic, growing beef breed. This person will function as the “face” of the company and will provide customers and visitors with a professional, friendly, and welcoming experience. The ideal candidate should have excellent customer service skills and a pleasant personality with a positive attitude to support and guide our membership. Suitable candidates will be comfortable with computers and general office work. Candidate will work primarily with the Registry and DNA departments at the AGA office in Lincoln, Nebraska. This is an in-office position.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Support membership with registry needs (transferring animals, online payments, entering/adjusting animal information, completing herd assessments and calving worksheets, address updates).
• Assist members with all areas of the DNA process (submission, order tracking and results). Coordinate DNA storage and DNA supply shipments as needed. Additionally, work with AGA’s contracted lab, other breed associations, and industry partners.
• Understand, uphold, and communicate the AGA rules and policies.
• Travel to board meetings, AGA convention, industry and breeder events to serve as an AGA representative.
Secondary Responsibilities
• Answer and direct phone calls to the proper personnel.
• Prepare and gather daily outgoing/incoming mail.
• Serve as backup for posting member payments.
• Enroll new members and prepare new member packets for mailing.
• Prepare shipments of requested materials from outside individuals/organizations.
• Maintain office cleanliness and organization.
• Order supplies and maintain inventoried materials.
• Support office staff with various day-to-day needs and projects (board meeting and convention preparation).
• Other tasks as needed.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Agricultural major or equivalent experience in a related field preferred.
• Hands-on experience with office machines (printers, laptops, projectors).
• Prior customer service and office organization experience.
• Proficiency in English (oral and written).
• Solid knowledge of MS Office.
