Welcome Friends and Customers, Welcome to our 10th annual bull sale here at the farm! We hope that you are all well and that Spring brings you a Great Calf Crop!. We appreciate our friends and customers whether they need 1 bull every 5 years, or 5 bulls every year. We summer the cattle on dry native grass and winter and calve out on cornstalks and afterfeed. Our cattle are not babied and we expect them to work for us, bring a good calf home in the fall and calve in a 60 day period starting around Feb. 1st. They don’t do their part and they are gone. We have developed our herd of mother cows to thrive and survive in this harsh western environment that we all know. The bulls are developed on a ration of ground hay, silage, wet distillers grain and a small amount of flaked corn, we target a gain of 3 lbs. per day and feel this makes for a sound solid set of bulls that will go out and cover a lot of tough country. This year’s offering is packed with performance, maternal and calving ease and we feel there are bulls to fit anyone’s program and also help improve what we call cowability around here. Our definition of cowability is trouble free females that calve on time, breed back and bring home a good calf each and every season. Udder quality in our herd is second to none, as we don’t have the time or patience to suckle calves. To be a SEGA cow she must calve on her own, nurse that calf on her own or she is down the road. Life is far too short to put up with problem cattle and we feel that our culling strategy has sure made our herd trouble free. We have worked hard to increase the carcass quality in our cattle without giving up fertility and keeping ability. Once again this year, you will find ultrasound information and also PAP scores on all all of the bulls. We feel this is good information to help you in making your bull buying decisions, you won’t find any extreme EPD cattle here as we truly believe in a middle of the road common sense approach to cattle breeding. Once again we will have a representative from J9 Insurance available sale day to help you if you are interested in insuring your purchases. They represent the Hartford Company and can help you with full mortality and injury policies. We stand behind these bulls as we always have and feel this is a way to help you protect your investment. We are proud of this even, consistent set of bulls and invite you to stop by anytime and walk through them, we love to talk cattle around this place and feel we have a great set for your appraisal. The bulls will all be base priced at $2250 for sale day, immediately after we have been through the bulls, any bulls left will increase according to our evaluation. If more than one party is interested in a lot, there will be a bid off at 1:00 p.m. A complete supplement sheet will be available on Sale Day. We hope this makes a relaxed enjoyable buying experience for you – our valued customers. • Health: The cattle have had all their vaccinations and will be semen tested and available for interstate shipment within the U.S. • Terms: Cash or cashable check on sale day unless other arrangements have been made with us. • Delivery: We will deliver your purchases at no cost to you within 250 miles. If you haul your bulls on sale day, you can take $25 per bull off. We will keep the bulls until April 1st, at no charge. We will deliver the bulls to you at an agreed upon time. The bulls will be cared for as if they were ours, but we cannot guarantee against sickness, injury, or death. • Transfers: Cattle with registration papers will be transferred to the new owner. • Guarantee: All bulls in the sale are guaranteed to be breeders if not allowed to run with the herd until at least 14 months of age, and if not subjected to gross negligence by the purchaser. • Liability: You attend the sale at your own risk and we will not be responsible for any accidents or injuries that might occur. We sure like these Contour cattle here. This 50% Red Angus is a good one. He’s really strong topped and has a never miss dam.

Care of your yearling bulls: We would encourage you to take a littleextra special care of your investment(s). Yearling bulls are still growing and we all expect a lot out of them. Limit the breeding season and number of cows that they will have to service. Do not turn young bulls out in the same pasture with mature bulls. A yearling in good condition can be expected to service 15-25 cows in his first season, but he will need to be brought in early and given a little extra care after all that work. Yearlings will start losing their teeth at 15 to 18 months of age and need a little TLC if you expect them to grow and develop to their full potential. A little extra care up front will make your purchases last a lot longer and also make for healthier, better bulls down the trail! When you first turn your bulls out, watch them and make sure that they are getting the job at hand done. Also, if they start getting a little run down rest them or give them a little extra energy, it will pay dividends in the long run!
