Lot 1

Description

3 Black Balancer Heifers

These Lot 1 sisters got their careers off to a great start with each one "sticking" on their first AI service. The Homesteads defy the High Milk/Fleshing Ability antagonism to ensure their productivty on our native fescue pastures. Their mating to Yon Flagship is particularly exciting as he spreads best 1% Calving Ease to Top 1% Pay-weight. And those extra pounds will be worth more with his best 1% values for Marbling, $Grid Value, $Beef Value

$Combined Value.

Lot 2

Here's a pair of half sisters by Hometown, one of the breed's most proven sires for PRIME marbling, slick hair coats and top 1% Profitablilty as pridicted by his elite $Beef, $Grid and $Combined values. The heifer calves they carry will be three-quarter sisters and two genrations of A.I. breeding. The service sire, Deef Valley Optimum 9246 combines best 10% Calving Ease with heaviest 10% yearing weight, carcass weight and feed efficiency (RADG).

Lot 3

Description

5 Red Balancer Heifers

We start into our Red Balancers with 5 beautiful Trilogy daughters that are "peas in a pod". The Trilogy have proven to be as problem free as any females we own; slick haired, pretty uddered, easy fleshing and sound footed. You'll want to keep every one of the Surpass heifer calves they carry. His top 1% $Maternal Value is built on 10% or better ranks for so many cow herd building traits: Heifer Pregnancy, Maternal Calving Ease, Milk, and Foot Structure.

Lot 4 Description

5 Red Balancer Heifers

Extra Profit is a son of Brown Profit Driven A7603 who sold for $36,000 in the R.A. Brown Ranch sale to our good friend and bull partner, Dan Stickel from Cedar Hill Farm. Dan had always talked about the udder quality and fleshing of the Profit Driven daughters, so we jumped at the chance to own what is probably his best son to date. Expect the Iron Horse calves they carry to really push the scales down and be very feed efficient in the process. Iron Horse also improves Docility, foot structure and hair shedding.

Lot 5

Feedlot is a Top 1% GridMaster with 6 traits in the top 3% of all Red Angus sires and improves milk and heifer pregnancy rate at the same time. He is sired by Brown Oracle B112 who is one of the very high Red Angus bulls on the new Zoetis Fertility EPD used in $Profit.

Lot 6

2023 will be the second crop of Best Cut daughters in our annual sale. Historically, No one has done Red SimAngus better than BIF Seedstock Producer of the Year, Pelton Simmental & Red Angus. So it was an easy decision for us to add Best Cut to our program. He competes with our Red Angus genetics for Marbling and Calving Ease and does it with a moderate mature size so the daughters are a great fit for our native fescue pastures.

Lot 7

Fully Loaded has a well earned reputation to improve calving ease, maternal calving ease, cow herd fertility and longevity and docility all of which help keep ourselves and our customers in the cow business. We used County Road because of his 1% $Maternal and $Weaning values, and the elite cow herd traits he delivers such as: 2% Docility, 10% Heifer Pregnancy, 3% Maternal Calving Ease and 4% Direct Calving Ease.

Our Takeover daughters are amongst the prettiest uddered females at Tucker Family Farms. Both Optimum and Surpass combine superior calving ease with heavier payweights.

Lot 9

We feed cattle and we love big carcass premiums and profitable close-outs as much as anyone. BUT, we have to get the cow right first. Tex Playbook delivered just that with top 1% $Maternal Value and Top 2% $Weaning Value. Iron Horse complements with amazing genetic predictions for heavier payweights, superior feed efficiency and higher value carcasses.

Lot 10

This mating is a cowman's dream. The Tahoe's are easy fleshing, slick haired, docile, and Top 1% $Weaning cattle. Steadfast contributes his own Top 1% $Maternal Value, but adds superior Marbling, REA, Feed Efficiency, Foot

$Beef Value and $Combined Value.

Lot 11

This mating combines the best 5% $Maternal Value of Uptown with Hometown's amazing Marbling, which blows past the top 1% to earn him Top 1% ranks for $Grid Value, $Beef Value and $Combined Value.

Lot 12

Baker Valle D217 is the definition of balanced trait selection with 9 traits in the top 25% of the Angus breed and best 15% or better values for $Maternal, $Grid, $Beef and $Combined Value indices.

Lot 13

Description

2 Black Balancer Heifers

It really hurts to part with these two heifer pregnancies. Niagra ventures into the very rare $200 $Beef Value territory thanks to his combination of pay-weight and quality grade traits. Then we add a very complementarymating to County Road with his 1% $Maternal and $Weaning values, and the elite cow herd traits he delivers such as: 2% Docility, 10% Heifer Pregnancy, 3% Maternal Calving Ease and 4% Direct Calving Ease.

Lot 14

Description

4 Black Balancer Heifers

Colonel E621 balances 13 traits in the top one-third of the Angus breed, and adds some horsepower and front-pasture phenotype in the process. Their mating to Steadfast yielded a majority of heifer pregnancies which is fortunate given his amazing predictions for superior $Maternal Value and foot structure.

Lot 15

Not only will these Balancer (50% GV, 50% AN) heifers add a shot of maternal heterosis to your program, but they are loaded with the additive tratis we want in our own replacemenets: Best 4% Heifer Pregnancy, Best 25% Stayability, and best 10% Docility. No wonder Granite ranks in the top 20% for $Cow - American Gelbvieh's maternal profit index. Their mating to Hometown ensures calf value with his top 1% rankings for $Grid Value, $Beef Value and $Combined Value, not to mention his "off-the charts" marbling EPD and top 30% RADG EPD which predicts feed efficiency.

Lot 16

5 Black and BWF Balancer Heifers

Fortress's EPD profile predicts improvement in milk flow, maternal calving ease and feed efficiency which makes these heifers good property to own. There mating to Sustain adds superior calving ease and Top 2% $Combined Value which is driven by equally elite

$Maternal Value.

Lot 17

4 Black Balancer Heifers

Lot 17 offers the benefits of maternal heterosis in a solid black hided package. D503, F907 and F647 all offer best 10% or better docility to ensure these composite bred cattle will handle just like our Angus females.

Lot 18

Description

2 Angus x Normande Heifers

The Normande heifers have topped our sale 2 of the last 5 years, but for those wanting a more conservative color pattern we thought we'd offer this pair of black heifers with a "star" in their forhead. They combine the hardiness of the Normande with the carcass merit of Angus.

Lot 19

Description

7 Black Balancer Heifers

Here we have 7 half sisters to the Lot 1 females that led off the sale, and phenotypically, these are just as good as those at the front of the sale. Their mating to Sustain J385 bests many of today's popular A.I. sires with his best 1% $Combined Value and 5% or better values for $Maternal, $Beef, $Grid, and $Feeder. J385 puts an amazing 16 traits in the top 25% of the Angus breed.

Lot 20

Three Angus heifers from the heart of our A.I. program. Both Playbook and Growth Fund excel for $Weaning Value and Playbook adds a top 1% rank for $Maternal Value. Both Steadfast H442 and Sustain J385 are cow herd builders with ranks in the top 2% for $Maternal Value and similarly high for Docility.

Lot 21

This Lot 21 mating combines two of the Angus breed's premier "Cow Herd Building" bloodlines when we use Steadfast back on Tahoe daughters. Steadfast H442 contributes best 2% $Maternal Value, top 3% Weaning Value, and Top 10% Docility to the fleshing ability and hair shedding ability that have made Tahoe famous.

Lot 22

The service sire on Lot 22 exemplifies our career long search for natural service sires that compete with, and in the case of Sustain J385, surpasses many available AI calving ease sires. He earned his breed leading $Beef Value, $Grid Value and $Feedlot Value by simultaneously improving payweight, feed conversion and quality grade. He's even better when it comes to building good footed, docile, fertile replacement females that won't increase mature size.

Lot 23

5 Black Angus Heifers

Here's 5 sisters to the excellent heifers that sold back at lot 12. KCF Bennett Baker D217 defies the antagonism with elite direct and maternal calving ease. He also combines top 25% growth and feed conversion while reducing mature cow frame score and mature weight. More moderate cows that can thrive at higher stocking rates and wean more pounds of calf per acre, without costing any payweight is a business model we appreciate at Tucker Family Farms.

Lot 24

Description

8 Black Balancer Heifers

If you retain ownership you'll do well to own this set of Niagra daughters. The sire and maternal grandsire of the calves that will hit next fall average in the top 2% for both $Beef Value and $Combined Value. If they have heifer calves you'll also really appreciate J385's top 1% Docility, Top 2% Heifer Pregnancy, Top 15% Claw Shape and top 2% $Maternal Value.

Lot 25

Description

7 Black Balancer Heifers

The sisters to these 7 Colonel daughters sold back at Lot 14, and these are certainly cut from the same cloth, front-pasture females that will contribute more payweight and improve feed efficiency. These are bred to Sustain and Deep Well F199, both of whom deliver dependable calving ease and balanced index values to improve both cow herd and post-weaning traits.

Lot 26

4 Black and BWF Balancer Heifers

4 More Fortress daughters and phenotypically very much the same as their sisters that sold back at Lot 16. Their mating to Steadfast H442 doubles down on highly functional replacement females with his best 2% rank for $Maternal value.

Lot 27

6 Black Balancer Heifers

It takes a lot of discipline and committment to continue to A.I. when we can open the gate and turn out WHS Fireball 41 who blows away the top 1% of the breed for Marbling, $Combined Value, $Beef Value, $Grid Value and $Weaning Value. Plus, he comes with sleep all night calving ease and best 15% feed efficiency (RADG).

Lot 28

4

Much of our 40-year quest to develop superior replacements for this region of the country is wrapped up in Lot 28. Use Maternal Heterosis to ensure we get the lowly heritable traits such as fertility and cow herd longevity, then utilize sires such as WHS Fireball 41 that "tilt" the grids in our favor by targeting PRIME premiums.

Lot 29

6 Red SimAngus Heifers

Six sisters to the Best Cut daughters that sold back at Lot 6, and won't their WHS Fireball 41 calves be fun to feed! The SiimAngus component in Best Cut will add pounds and yield, and Fireball 41 contributes better than 1% Marbling, $Beef Value, $Grid Value and $Combined Value.

Lot 30

Five more Red SimAngus heifers and we could just "ditto" the footnote for lot 29, except to point out that these Fully Loaded daughters represent a longterm investment due to their excellent predictions for Docility, Maternal Calving Ease and Stayability in lower input package than most composite females.

Lot 31

These six Feedlot daughters match up well with their sisters that sold at Lot 5, and these are similarly mated to make outstanding replacement feamles. If you want to inject more performance and carcass value into your cowherd and do it in a red hide, these Feedlot daughters are a safe bet.

Lot 32

We purchased Extra Profit because of the maternal reputation his paternal sisters had earned as slick-haired, highly fertile sound uddered females. The bonus has been he also delivered best 2% Marbling and Top 10% payweight.

Lot 33

It is hard to part with any Trilogy daughters; this set and their sisters that sell as Lot 3 are "peas in a pod". We love their udder quality, solid foot structure, slick haired and easy fleshing phenotype. Deep Well and Trilogy both hit or exceed the top 10% of their respective breeds for marbling so quality grade premiums should be easily obtainable.

Lot 34

4 Red Angus Heifers

The final lot of Professional Replacements is a replica of Lot 8, which features daughters of our Takeover D6323 and Redemption D6407. Both of these sires rank in the top 20% of Red Angus for GridMaster index. D6323, D6407 and Deep Well F199 all rank in the top 10% or better of their respective breeds for Marbling so Grid Premiums should to be available for the calves they carry.
