About SHUT IT: SHUT ITâ&#x201E;˘ Gate Hardware started as Counsel Industries, LLC and became an early leader in the design and distribution of hardware and gate systems for the fence and access control industries. Mid-1990s: As vehicular access control began to explode as an industry, two veterans of the fence and access control industries discovered that many of their maintenance and repair issues for automated gate systems were being caused by the faulty or inferior hardware used on many gates. With the help of a team of engineers and an award winning CNC machinist, Counsel leaders set out to develop a line of products that would eliminate the damage caused to expensive operator systems by the poor hardware available in the market. After

The Hundred Year Hinge uses the unique SHUT IT bushing design with upgraded hardware for additional strength and longevity. Bottom Rail Cut Out Instructions Guide

Step 1: Cut a “V” notch in your bottom rail using a grinder and 4 1⁄2 x .040 x 7⁄8” (114x1x22mm) cutting wheel (or alternative method)

Step 2: Slide 4” (102mm) or 6” (152mm) HardCORE Wheel with Carriage Plate (CI2500 or CI2700 series) over bottom rail and weld into place. Wheel fits inside bottom rail, resulting in a UL325-compatible installation.

Recommended Bottom Rails: • 2 x 4” (51x102mm) Bottom rail recommended for use with the 6” (152mm) of HardCORE Wheel with Carriage Plates for 2” (51mm) Gate Frame (CI2720) • 11⁄2 x 3” (38x76mm) Bottom rail recommended for use with the 4” (102mm) of HardCORE Wheel with Carriage Plates for 11⁄2” (38mm) Gate Frame (CI2515)

Chain Link Slide Gate Wheel Installation Guide

Step 1: Align and tack weld our SHUT IT HardCORE Carriage Cap (CI2340 or CI2360) on top of your bottom rail.

Step 2: After HardCORE Carriage Cap is in place, cut rail off INSIDE of the carriage cap and then complete a full weld on both ends of the carriage cap.

Step 3: Slide either the 4” (102mm)or 6” (152mm)of HardCORE Wheel with Carriage Plates for 2” (51mm) Gate Frame (CI2520 or CI2720) into the HardCORE Carriage Cap and weld into position.

Welding Tips Proper Welding

Warning: Hinges will be severely damaged if electrical welding current is not properly grounded and will result in the warranty being void. Damage can be caused by excessive heat or by welding current passing through the bearings. Ensure that the welding ground is always on the side being welded. Current must not pass through the bearings or sever damage will result. To prevent heat related damage to the bearings, the welding process must be done in several small segments. Weld one surface at a time and alternate between top and bottom hinge. After each small segment is welded, the hinge should be allowed to cool before welding the next segment. Use general field welding operations with suitable heat transfer controls. Protect hinge from weld spatter. Clean up and finish with appropriate corrosion and rust protection.
