Since 1986
our family-owned enterprise develops and manufactures furniture for children that mainly consists of natural materials. Protecting the environment and respecting the natural resources have been important to us right from the beginning. Until today we have remained true to our claim of manufacturing furniture appropriate to children by using pollutant-free, natural materials and distributing them with regard to ecologically sensible ways of production. Meanwhile, our furniture is available at more than 200 specialist dealers throughout the whole of Europe and even in Korea and Russia. In our shops and production plants we have employed more than 60 staff members, and all of them do their work with great pleasure and devotion. JĂśrg de Breuyn

Administration From the beginning, the headquarters of our company have been Cologne. Here the product development, the order processing as well as the communication with dealers and customers, the accounting etc. take place. Altogether there are almost 30 longtime staff members working here hand in hand in the office, the shop, the workshop and the warehouse, in order to guarantee the best possible service.

Our large shop in Cologne Waiting for you on an exhibition space of 1500 m² there are our cabinet and bed systems as well as children’s furniture, interior accessories, toys and prams from many other manufacturers. Our qualified sales consultants will be pleased to help you with your choice. Opposite our salesroom there are enough parking places for our clients, so that you can easily come to us by car. Our small café and the children’s corner are an invitation to stay for a while and will turn your visit into something very special.

Our philosophy
Beds that grow with the children, from toddler to adolescent – that’s our speciality. Our concerns are our attitude towards an ecological handling with nature, a sustainable behaving during the production and the transport, the effort to guarantee the highest degree in material quality, stability and security, and, in addition, to bring beautiful, aesthetic furniture to the child’s room.
Ergonomics
Security
The children‘s healthy development lies at our heart. Therefore we give big importance to child-orientated ergonomics when we develop our beds. The levels of our adjustable bed systems, in each case specially conceived for a certain age, match the correspondent motor physiognomies and in doing so they support the child’s positive development. But we also consider the parents with our constructions: Reclining areas and safety barriers are arranged in such a manner that you can reach your child without straining one‘s back.
Children love cavorting! The materials of our beds are so solid and the constructions are so stable that they will easily tolerate all games and also all reconstructions. Extra-high safety barriers for the little romps give adults a feeling of security and minimize the risk of falling. Of course, all our systems correspond to the European DIN norms and thus they hold no risk of injury at all.
Sustainability
Design
Sustainability has always been an important subject to us. For our materials, which we select specifically and check permanently, we pay special attention to an ecological way of dealing with nature. Of course, all of our products are free from hazardous substances and thus absolutely inoffensive for children. Certainly sustainable is also our concept of furniture growing with the child since a de Breuyn bed can be used from toddler right up to teenager age.
An aesthetic look of our furniture is of great importance to us. For children also want and need a lovely ambiance. The timeless design of our furniture connects stability with aesthetics and offers children enough freedom for creative play and individual configuration.

A short look at a long period How it all started
All started with the idea to build a bed for my son. In our workshop in an old bread factory in a backyard of KeupstraĂ&#x;e in Cologne, I set to work. That was
in autumn 1986, after having finished my sculpture studies at the
Academy of Arts in DĂźsseldorf and having moved to Cologne just a short time ago. These adventure beds got popular so quickly that we summarily decided to make a profession of it.

We started the production, bought second-hand machines and employed the first assistants. The woodwork grew and so did the number of staff and

family members, and two years later, in , we moved to bigger premises in MoltkestraĂ&#x;e in the Belgian Quarter, a trendy district in the city centre. We enlarged our furniture range, added products of other manufacturers and completed this selection with toys, interior accessories and textiles.
In order to be able to produce larger quantities, we established contacts in the Czech Republic by
1998,
the middle of the 1990s. In with our friend and partner Petr Puchta, we took over a former combine and of it we made a furniture factory according to German quality standards. Then we developed our current ranges: deluxe, destyle and delite...

Presences at trade fairs, a new sales force and periodically new catalogues made our children’s furniture nationally and internationally known. Today we supply more than 200 specialist dealers all over Europe and even in Korea and Russia with our five furniture ranges.
2004
Since we have an agency in Switzerland, where you can get our furniture at the „de Breuyn Schweiz AG“ in the pretty commune of Meggen/Lucerne.
2006
In , with our partner Elke Niemann, we also established an autonomous subsidiary at the Stilwerk in Hamburg, a shopping centre specializing in furniture and design. Since our premises were about to burst at the seams, we decided in summer 2006 to move one more time. In the industrial area of Girlitzweg we found an appropriate place offering enough space for shop, workshop, warehouse and administration, including the charms of an industrial fallow area and modern

architecture. So the past 26 years until today, in , just rushed past. Our children, the „loft bed testers“ from the outset are about to be grown-ups and by now assist us regularly. And what is nicest of all: We still enjoy our work so much – as if it were the very first adventure bed!

Development & production
In our headquarters in Cologne, our design team develops our new furniture – from the idea through drafts, models, material samples etc. to the first prototype. The concept of individual customer requests is here also. If applicable, we also support the implementation of your own ideas until they are ready for series production, so that we can manufacture them in the end. To have all of the production steps in one hand is important to us in order to guarantee quality and materiality and to make sure that fair production conditions as well as industrial safety and security for our staff and the environment are respected. And not least to know exactly where the materials we use come from. By now, we have a big network of suppliers for raw materials and semi-finished products from all sectors. .
The cabinetmaker’s workshop in Cologne Our cabinetmaker’s workshop is registered as a master craftsman’s workshop. In these rooms of about 300m², which include a workbench room, a machine room and a spray booth featuring the latest technologies, our 6 staff members work with a well-equipped machinery. We manufacture true to size single-unit productions, built-in wardrobes, industrial and commercial orders, outdoor climbing frames, furniture for doctors‘ surgeries, waiting rooms and nursery schools and even more. And of course: The prototypes of our furniture before they go into series-production.

Oslavany Furniture Production Our furniture factory in the Czech Republic Since 1998, we run our own furniture factory in the small town of Oslavany near Brno. We work here on an area of 6.000m² with 2.000m² storage space and a staff of about 25 members. The factory is led by our workshop director Pavel Sysel and the two managing directors Hana Grossova and Petr Puchta (from left to right). In Oslavany we manufacture our product ranges debe.deluxe, debe.destyle and debe.detail, the nursery school range debe.decor as well as furniture series for other companies.
Best quality – right from the start The beechwood we use comes from the High Tatra forests in the north of Slovakia. In this region, controlled forest cultivation has been practised for several centuries – the best guarantee for sustainable cultivation methods. Each year, we visit the plantation areas to assure ourselves of the reforestation which is certified by a FSC expertise. For more than 10 years we cooperate with two regional planning factories which, by the means of their steam boxes and drying rooms, provide us reliably with the wood quality and the colouring we guarantee for our furniture. debe.deluxe Safe and extremely stable beds with extra-high safety barriers which grow with the child. And this for already 22 years! The children’s room range debe.deluxe is our classic. We manufacture these unfading childrens‘ furniture for more than 20 years from solid beechwood in high quality and tradition. Beginning with the canopy bed for children from 2 years, these theme play beds rise with the needs of children and parents and can be reconstructed later into timeless versions for teenagers.
debe.destyle Versatile furniture that accompanies your child for a long time – from baby age to a teenager. debe.destyle is a high-quality range consisting of beds that grow with your child, cabinet furniture and proper textiles. Design, material quality and individual colour and assembling combinations are the specialities of debe.destyle. According to your taste, beds and cabinets are available in natural look (oiled beechwood) or stained coloured (with a visible wood structure) in 16 shades. Concerning the cabinet furniture, you choose the corpus first and furnish it afterwards with drawers and doors in the way you like.
debe.delite For varied, space-saving children’s rooms of timeless beauty. More and more parents wish for variable furniture growing with their children that can be used over a longer period of time without palling. For just this reason we developed debe.delite - a system which, due to his material mix, gives a light and fresh impression and adapts to wishes with the same flexibility as to changing housing situations or the needs of a growing family. All elements are robust, easy to clean and offer almost unlimited possibilities of combinations and complements.

debe.detail The de Breuyn solitary furniture range with cots, children‘s suites and desks. Under the name debe.detail we merged single pieces of furniture that match with each of the three de Breuyn children‘s furniture ranges. Cots, desks as well as our transformation chair with suitable children‘s tables. This solitary furniture is available in different colours and material finishes so they will harmonise with all ranges.
debe.decor Our aesthetic furniture range for nursery and primary schools These modules are almost endlessly combinable and give structure to each room, bring order into it and create places to feel well and to let go. By means of the high-quality processing and the light, friendly design, the piece of furniture retreats into the background and becomes a part of the architecture. So we make way for the essential: An area for playing and room for the child’s creative selffulfillment.
debe.degreen Individual climbing frames, playgrounds and tree houses for your garden. In our cabinetmaker’s workshop in Cologne we also manufacture playgrounds for the outdoor area. For private gardens, clubs, nursery schools or properties. Besides our classics like the corsair and the tree house, we develop the climbing frames individually, according to the customers‘ wishes, the available space and the children‘s age. All frames are produced from solid, boiler pressure-impregnated pinewood and generally fixed on-site with solid foundation iron.
