Firstly, I wish to sincerely thank the artists for lending your works for this exhibition. It’s always wonderful to have an opportunity to celebrate your creative practices here at the Deakin University Art Gallery and especially after the last two years. It’s also especially meaningful for me to also celebrate, with this exhibition, the works of Deakin’s Creative Art’s Sessional Academics who are a big part of this exhibition and who also often work closely with me in facilitating academic programs with students. In doing so, they help create audience and engagement for us here at the gallery that we deeply appreciate. So thank you for your contributions, it has been great to bring your works together, thank you for your continued support and for trusting me with your works. I also wish to thank and acknowledge the support of the Art Collection and Galleries team including Senior Manager Leanne Willis, Art Collection Officer Claire Muir, Administrative Officer Cindy Seeberger and our new Public Programs and Education Officer Tabitha Davies. I also extend my gratitude to Senior Operations Coordinator Bradley Axiak and to Victoria Holessis, Operations CoordinatorImage, for your support of the project. I also wish to thank Exhibitions Technician, Oliver Piperato who always puts in a huge effort and is one of the most patient people I know. Lastly, I wish to thank Professor Matthew Ricketson, Acting Head of School, who at short notice opened the exhibition representing the School of Communications and Creative Arts. Thank you for your thoughtful observations and comments.
