PRINT BOOK This was one of my first projects at university. It was more of an experiment than anything.. I was issued a letter and number from my tutors which was ‘S’ and ‘3’, I had to base my book around those. I used a letterpress to print the text, printing on various papers. Then I hand bound the book together. using the four hole binding technique.

Animation This is also part of the Colours of Blackpool brief. The brief stated we had to produce an animation that was 15-30 seconds long, using any medium we wish. I decided to use Photoshop animation. The animation starts with a black and white image of Blackpool and as the van drives along it restores the colour of the photograph.

Pictoral Alphabet This is an alphabet made out of tea light candles. I was given a brief to produce an alphabet out of objects or take photographs of something that can be interpretated as an alphabet.

Lloyds tsb competition This was a competition brief for the bank Lloyds TSB. The brif gave several themes to illustrate. I chose ‘We succeed together. The concept of my idea is seed dispersal by thw wind. They both work together to grow more trees, this cycle will never end, unless the wind stops. This artwork got me to the Regional Finals of the competitiom.

TYPOGRAPHIC PORTRAIT The name gives it away really. I had to create a portrait of myself out of type. I could of used as minimul or as much type as I want. I decided to go for detail and use alot of type and different typefaces for textures.

09

Design manifesto Looking at the design aspects of Swiss, Constrructivist, Classical and Decrotive design I had to produce posters which was influced by these. In these posters, a famous design quote had to be included.

04

Typographic aRChitecture I had to choose a typographic term and visual show that term in form of a 3D structure or object. I chose the term typographical river. This is where, for example, in a book where the spaces between the words create what looks like a ‘river’ on the page. A decided to do a dramatic approach and create an actual river of type. I used plain white card to make this.

02

illustration booklet This booklet consists of experimental illustrations using techniques I have never used before. The illustrations are of my favorite things and also a self portrait. I used acrylics, inks and watercolours for the backgrounds.

Colours of blackpool I was set a brief to premote a fake exhibition held at my university. My class and I chose 24 colours, we made ourself, that represents Blackpool. The brief stated that I had to produce a poster, and a promotional item. I designed two posters and my promotional item was paint. I also branded the exhibition with a logo.

10

Revisit a classic I had to take a classic story, fable or nursey rhym and illustrate it in my own way. I chose to do the story of Little Red Riding Hood. I had to produce several DPS from the story and a front cover. I used the lino print to visualize the story.

03

Noise MAGAZINE I got a brief that stated that I had to design a music magazine. I was put into a group of 3 photographers and we was given a music genre which was Bluegrass. I had to design the magazine so I told the photographers what style of photographs I want. I went for a contemparay style.

EMOTIONS 3D I was set a brief to chose an emotion and portray that motion visually in an 3D object. I was given a week for research and to chose my emotion, I chose fear/trapped. I researched in what people are most scared of and the results were trapped and buried alive. So I combined them both to help me produce my 3D object.
