Full-page, long-form advertorial for American Detection Specialists
“For 360 days out of the year, our company is not that different from a plumber, or an electrician, or a heating and air company. We install systems.” says Bryan L. Morris of American Detection Specialists, Inc. “But during those other five days, those rare days, we get to do something out of the ordinary. We protect a family from carbon monoxide poisoning, or from a house fire. We protect a business from a disgruntled employee. We call for medical help when someone is injured or sick. We keep people safe. It’s very rewarding.”
Morris describes American Detection Specialists, Inc. as a life safety company. “We protect your property, of course,” says Morris. “But more importantly, we protect the things that insurance company checks don’t cover.” American Detection Systems provides safety solutions for all types of homes and businesses, primarily within a 60-mile radius of Springfield. Concentrating on local service means that the company’s 12 employees can maintain personal relationships with every client. “We get to know our each of our clients, and understand their situation,” says Morris. “That way, we can find a security solution to address their needs and concerns. It’s not a one-size-fits-all business.”
The American Detection Systems facility is filled with an impressive array of state-of-the-art GE Security Pro equipment from which they can build customized security systems to provide solutions to a wide variety of security concerns, including:
• burglary and home intrusion;
• fire detection and alert;
• medical and personal emergency dispatch;
• carbon monoxide detection and alert;
• motion detection;
• audible and silent panic buttons;
• freeze and flood monitoring;
• tornado alert;
• surveillance and security cameras; and
• access control and access tracking
American Detection Systems specializes in wireless systems and sensors. “They’re easier and cleaner to install, upgrade, or relocate,” says Morris. “They offer flexibility in installation, and dependability in performance. They’re a better choice for our customers.” The wireless systems offer an optional uplink to provide communication back-up to a 24/7 central monitoring station, as well as a battery back-up and power loss notification. The phone-voice option allows you to control your security system remotely from a touch-tone or cell phone. The wireless systems are tested weekly to ensure each component is operating properly, and they’re the only systems in southwest Missouri backed by a 2-year parts and labor warranty.
The wireless systems are controlled with a key fob remote, or a simple key pad. The system’s electronic voice tells the customer the status of the system. If there’s an alarm, the voice tells you what the alarm is for and where it was
triggered “glass breakage, garage window,” for example. “We have 90-year-old grandmothers using our wireless systems,” says Morris. “They’re very simple to use.”
Most insurance companies offer discounts on your homeowner’s insurance premium if you install a monitored security system. “That’s because security systems work,” says Morris. “Your chance of a break-in drops six hundred percent if you have an alarm system.” Break-ins are people’s numberone concern, followed by fire. “There’s a home fire every 83 seconds,” says Morris. “We can alert you so you and your family can get out safely. We can summon the fire department to help get them there before the fire spreads. We can even help the fire department find your house.”
American Detection Specialists was founded in 1989 by Jim L. Morris; Bryan Morris is his son. Jim L. Morris’ background includes experience as a deputy sheriff, a police officer, a special investigator for a county prosecutor, a reserve Greene County deputy sheriff, an MP in the U.S. Army, and a licensed private investigator. “My dad is one of those guys who wants to protect the world,” says Morris.
When your home or business is protected by American Detection Specialists, you can count on their dedication to your safety. Your security system may never be triggered, but if it is, when it is, American Detection Specialists is there to protect you
