“A person who NEVER made a mistake NEVER TRIED anything NEW." -Albert Einstein I believe design is all about taking risks, experimenting, and trying out new things. Whether it's simply changing the color of a material or stepping out of one's’ comfort zone and creating a wall tessellation inspired by the human blood cells. PUSHING myself to learn new design approaches and implementing them is what makes me a true designer. And doing this is what I love to do. Design isn’t my only passion. I also love Bacon! Not the food bacon, but my dog Bacon. He’s my one eyed Chug that I rescued and we have quite the adventures outdoors. I love all animals and I love to travel and explore new places because I love to try anything NEW!

DESIGN PROBLEM
Design an existing office space of approximately 46,000 square feet for Netflix incorporating Biophilic Design.
DESIGN SOLUTION
Mimicking natural systems
Biomorphic patterns
Air
Multi-sensory stimuli
Using Biophilia Design will create a healthy, happy work environment. This will be done by: 1. Mimicking natural systems- decreases stress, enhances creativity, and accelerates recovery from illness. 2. Biomorphic patterns- our brain associates these non-living pattern arrangements seen in nature with representation of living things. 3. Maximize natural light- enhances visual comfort and helps link to the outdoors. 4. Presence of water- has health benefits lowers blood pressure, lower heart rate, and memory restoration) and increases feeling of tranquility. 5. Air- variability in temperature and air flow keeps people awake and naturally improves focus and performance. 6. Multi-sensory stimuli- smelling and hearing nature have positive impacts on people.

kaleidos pendant DESIGN PROBLEM
To use an existing assigned artist to create a working light fixture.
DESIGN SOLUTION
To use the many reflective colors that Olafur Eliasson used in the One-Way Colour Tunnel installation in creating a working light fixture.
MEDIA
Illustrator, AutoCad, SketchUp, Acrylic, Wood, Spray Paint, Ink Pens, Aluminum, Glue, Laser Cutting Machine, Stained Glass Light Bulb
DESIGN INSPIRATION
The many different colors of a kaleidscope and how it has multiple triangles. I wanted my light fixture to resemble a kaleidscope and have a similar effect when the light reflects on it. In Greek the name Kaleido means, Kal- beautiful, eido- form.
CASE STUDY
kaleidos pendant
ONE-WAY COLOUR TUNNEL
Olafur Eliasson created a tunnel in 2007 for SF Moma. This tunnel allowed visitors move through the passageway, as they observe the fluctuating effect of light and
reflections. Thist tunnel was created by triangular acrylic and mirrors. On one side, the tunnel seems completely black and from the other end it's a multi-colored spectrum where viewers can experience different effects.
SKETCHING
My intitial idea was to create some kind of tunnel of multiple colors. Made out of metal and colored acrylic.
My second idea involved more of a circular layered effect
like a kaleidscope. This allowed many differen colors to be reflected.

COLLABORATION PROJECT DESIGN PROBLEM
Design an existing property that is 11 stories high, which is zoned for retail and commercial. The focus was to design the basement, ground floor and 4 upper stories of a hotel. The primary façades were the West and South buildings where a curtain wall is designed to not only act as a surface, but as a positive environmental effect that will become the identity of the hotel.
DESIGN SOLUTION
To design the hotel just as how a human body would function. By demonstrating how the outer layer of the building breathes, just like the skin in our body and designing the interior with customized furniture and designs that represents the beauty of the human body.
LOCATION
366 West 15th St, New York City The human body is design to protect us from diseases and bodily harm. The organs work together and help our body function.
MEDIA
Modo, Photoshop, Illustrator, Madpattern, Spoonflower, Flexible Plastic 3-D Printing, and Mcor 3-D Paper Printing
DESIGN INSPIRATION
The human body and how the human organs function and work to keep a human alive. The idea was to incorporate such organs as if they work in a building in order to keep the building going and alive.

Thermal Bimetal is commonly used in Thermostat xed connection

Thermal Bimetal has lamination of 2 different metals together. Therefore, it has 2 different co-efficient of expansion. When it is heated, one side expands more than the other, creates the curling action. Bimetal is usually the combination of steel and copper, sometimes steel and brass
