FURNITURE STUDY HAND DRAWING IS AN ESSENTIAL PART OF THE CREATIVE PROCESS. THIS WEEKLY PROCESS TO SKETCH A FURNITURE PIECE WAS A BENEFICIAL LEARNING EXPERIENCE. NOT ONLY DID I LEARN TO BE COMFORTABLE WITH SKETCHING WHAT I SEE BUT I BECAME MORE AWARE OF SIGNATURE FURNITURE PIECES AND THEIR DESIGNERS. EACH PIECE SHOWN WAS HAND DRAWN AND EITHER HAND RENDERED OR SCANNED TO BE RENDERED IN PHOTOSHOP.

INSPIRED BY THE ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE OF FOOD WASTE, THIS MUSEUM SERVES TO EDUCATE A COMMUNITY ABOUT THE EMPATHIC CONSEQUENCES OF WASTING FOOD. THE DESIGN FOCUSES ON THE DECOMPOSITION OF FOOD AND HOW IT CAN RELATE TO THE BUILDING’S INTERIOR. THE EXHIBITS PROVIDE INTERACTIVE DISPLAYS AND HOLOGRAPHIC TECHNOLOGY THAT EVOKE FEELINGS OF ADVENTURE AND CONCERN.

THE HUES OF THESE COLORS ARE INSPIRED BY THE VIBRANT COLORS OF FRUITS. BRIGHT SHADES OF RED, YELLOW, AND ORANGE ARE COLORS THAT REPRESENT A CHEERFUL AND ENERGETIC MOOD. HOWEVER, THE FIRST FLOOR CONTRASTS THIS SCHEME BY INCORPORATING THE DARK UNDERTONES OF THESE COLORS. BROWN, MAROON, AND BLACK ARE USED IN THE SECOND EXHIBIT TO EXPRESS AN EERIE FEELING.

LES COPAINS FASHION SHOWROOM THIS PROJECT ALLOWED ME TO EXPLORE THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN FASHION AND ARCHITECTURE. LES COPAINS IS AN ITALIAN FASHION HOUSE WHO ARE THE CLIENTS I BASED MY DESIGNS FROM. I EXPLORED CONCEPTS LIKE SYMMETRY AND UNIFORMITY TO DESIGN A SHOWROOM IN A RENAISSANCE CLOISTER.

ROOT LANGUAGE IMMERSION MIDDLE SCHOOL A LANGUAGE IMMERSION SCHOOL SERVES TO INTEGRATE TWO CULTURES. CHILDREN WHO ARE EXPOSED TO DIVERSITY WITHIN THEIR COMMUNITY ARE ABLE TO IDENTIFY AND EMBRACE THE DIFFERENCES THAT DIVIDE US. THIS DESIGN GOES BEYOND TRADITIONAL TEACHING BY PROMOTING LEARNING BY DOING AND SUPPORTING A CHILD’S NATURAL INSTINCT OF CREATIVE PLAY.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER Born in Manhattan yet raised in northeast Pennsylvania, I started my passion for design in Philadelphia. It was not until college that I discovered what interior design was. I knew that I was creative and wanted to pursue a career that did not disappoint. Now that I am in an accredited interior design program, this major is as fulfilling as traveling the world. Every day I learn something new, whether it be about ergonomics, building materials or environmental methods. I am particularly interested in sustainability and like to focus my designs around nature or regional history. I also take functionality into account and enjoy meeting the needs of clients. I believe that interior design has the power to change lives. I wish to continue on my path towards a brighter and healthier design world, where people live effortlessly in beautifully designed spaces.
