Introduction

Debonair Material takes inspiration from five key aspects; Life (experiences), music,

art, fashion and culture. These aspects touch crucial parts in everyone’s life, which makes it relevant to us all. Life experiences are things we go through on a daily basis, such as love, heartbreak, and violence. Music touches everyone, using it as an escape, or to help express an emotion. Art is everywhere, from street corners to museums. Art gives us a different way to look at life. Fashion is something we all are affected by, how we dress and accessorize. Culture includes a variety of things; the urban community, sports, and television, some examples of what impacts us all. “Debonair” defines the “material” being produced, urbane, suave, elegant, and polished.

Logo Guidelines

Debonair Material’s logo is inspired by graffitti but also plays on the idea behind

the name of the brand. “Debonair Material” is high quality, polished and refined, elements associated with high fashion. However, it is also influenced by the streetwear scene and graffitti is a major part of that culture. The name itself sounds prestigous but visually the logo gives it a raw, unrefined aspect to the brand.

The preferred way to use the logo is white on a black backround. The absence of

colors makes the logo strong, simple and doesn’t distract. The logo is defined as a “tag”, which in the street art world, is like a signature. So when people see the logo, they know that’s a signature Debonair Material piece.

Alternate Logo Color Options

If necessary, the logo can be changed to another colorway outside of the two primary color schemes that was stated in the previous pages. If the logo is changed to another color, the color of the circle and the letters must be the same color. DO NOT make the circle one color and the type another.

Print Presentation: Logo Use

Logo use in ad is also important. The same rule applied in the Logo use section (see incorrect example 6) applies here. Notice there is no fill inside of the logo and blends into the background. Also, the logo can be either used in black or the off-white depending on what the background of the ad calls for to make the logo more visible.

Social Media

Social Media is a big part of branding in the 21st Century. Debonair Material uses

social media to promote new releases and brand news via Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, as well as their blog. All Post should be formal but inviting.

The blog is another part of the brand and brings another element to it. The blog brings

aspects such as music, art, sports and other elemtns that inspire the brand to the followers and helps understanding of how the brand isn’t just a typical clothing line.
